If you have the room set the 949 up in your house for a few days. The fabric needs to stretch. I had the same issue (as did my Son and his house). No problems since.

August 29, 2012 at 10:48 am #1095480James,
Any word on when the LX-7 upgrade will be available and what the cost will be for this upgrade?
Thanks!
May 17, 2012 at 5:04 pm #1068953My 35hp Johnson pontoon motor was acting up similar to your issue. Finally found out that some engine paint was partially (intermittently) insulating the grounding of the power pack….removed power pack, sanded the paint off, re-installed and no problems since.
February 1, 2012 at 5:16 pm #1034283Just found this….anyone try it yet? What version? This was posted this morning. No link to main page yet.

June 20, 2011 at 4:34 pm #974565Very likely your controller board is bad. I just fixed a buddy of mine’s with the exact same symptoms.
Bought board off of ebay for $69, replaced and it’s worked great since.
Apply 12V across red/black motor terminals that connect to board and see if prop spins. If yes, board is bad.
This link helped me out a bunch. Easy fix after you get the new board!

February 5, 2010 at 8:06 pm #840079If you are in the process of cooking them or eating them (while getting checked), or if they find evidence that you ate fish on the lake, you need to show them the intact carcus. If you bring the remnants to shore grab your dirty paper plates, thrown out grease/batter, etc too!
And you can not chuck the remnants down the hole. A buddy of mine had the CO drop a camera down to check for fish guts.
February 5, 2010 at 7:37 pm #840068DNR REGS• While on waterbodies, a person who is in possession of dressed fish or fish fillets that are being prepared or have been used in a meal must retain the fish carcasses of the dressed fish for inspection. The fish carcasses from dressed fish with size limits must be retained with head, dorsal fin, and tail intact and maintained in such a way that the carcass may be examined, measured, and counted. While on these waterbodies, the carcasses will be counted and included in a persons daily possession limit.

Hope so!
January 12, 2010 at 1:22 pm #312332GREAT tool for the wheelhouse.
Outside I just rev up the auger while I’m lifting it out of the hole and clear out the slush that way.
December 28, 2009 at 3:20 am #827090I would guess switch.
…..deleted
Correction- Chucker is correct….switch will ground the ignition when you shut it off. Cut the wire as he suggests.
Unless the plug itself is cracked, I doubt it would be so weak to not show a spark. you could short the 2 wires that go to the switch (temporary) to see if you get a spark.
December 28, 2009 at 2:34 am #827069Frustrated at slow drivers? Yes!
Do I require anger management classes? nnnnope!
I think it’s 5 O Clock somewhere else now…
December 28, 2009 at 2:19 am #827058Take the plug out and reattach the plug wire. Prop the end of the plug against the motor housing somewhere to get a good ground and pull the recoil a couple of times to see if there is any spark. No spark could mean your switch is stuck in the “off” position. If there is spark then you have a fuel problem.
December 28, 2009 at 1:34 am #827040….. to get home for Christmas and be with her family?
The roads were plowed but icy. Dangerous for 4×4 trucks and small cars. She was tailgated on a 4 lane freeway.
I have a 4×4 too with appropriate tires but don’t feel there is any need to get angry and slower drivers.
BK is right….5 O’Clock over here too! Time to talk fishing.
December 28, 2009 at 1:12 am #827029My daughter, driving home from college for Christmas is driving a small car. Horrible road conditions and she was petrified. She can’t afford a $40-50,000 truck with the “right tires”. Are you suggesting she should stay put and allow only 4×4 trucks to rule the roads? I prayed that she would drive slow and get home safe. She may have inconvenienced the 4×4 trucks by 5-10 minutes, but she got home safe for Christmas. Jeepers….what’s the rush?
December 17, 2009 at 2:01 pm #824090Ho-Ho-Ho! ….and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe and another Hoe…
December 14, 2009 at 12:35 pm #823186Also research the resort you plan on staying at…There may be a reason they are cheaper.
I wouldn’t let my dog sleep in some of these shacks certain resorts drag out there (Mother-In-Law yes, dog no).Service provided by the resort can vary a LOT as well!
Ask around for recomendations.
December 12, 2009 at 1:53 am #822771Talked with the Strikemaster folks when I stopped to exchange blades. He actually talked me out of the exchange because mine were still in great shape (6 years old). They recommended a graphite oil for the linkage/cable from a local hardware store. Another guy in the back overheard our conversation and pulled out a model of the recoil and showed me where to lube the recoil with the stuff….great guys who really care about their customers…impressed is an understatement.
There is a Solo calling my name.
December 10, 2009 at 11:10 pm #822413It’s mounted on the front of my wheeler and I try to keep a cover over it on the slushy days.
This happens during the frigid days where there is no slop. I’ve taken it out of a warm fish house in the morning, taken the wheeler out, start it up then stuck again.
I may have a corroded cable (salt?) that gets touchy in the cold? I’ll take the linkage apart and try the white grease you suggest as well.
Thanks!
December 10, 2009 at 10:51 pm #822402Ya I tried the let it warm up & WD40 thing but it still did it the next cold day….The auger is ~7 years old. Like you say, not fun when stuck wide open and the auger binds!
I’ve heard WD40 might freeze and was wondering if there was a better lube. Again when it’s warm it works like a charm with no resistance whatsoever.
I need to run to Strikemaster to exchange some blades and will ask them about it there.
Thanks for the inputs fellers!

November 21, 2009 at 2:49 pm #817499It depends if you are going to leave it on the ice or take it home when you are done?
I never block mine up when I’m out for the weekend. Bank it up with snow and you are good to go. I’ve never had a freeze in.
If you plan on leaving it on the lake you do need to block it up as described above..
November 4, 2009 at 5:14 pm #813930Dish Network will charge you $5 a month for not being hooked to to a land line (phone) or broadband. As mentioned previously, DirecTv recommends a phone hook up, but will not charge you if you don’t.
Both providers will function without a phone connection.November 4, 2009 at 3:39 pm #813892Here is a good site to help you dial the dish in where ever you set up your fish house.-
November 2, 2009 at 1:56 am #813210Shame on the classless Green Bay Packer fans for booing Brett back…..He gave them 16 good years. They should be booing the GM and Sherman. I have a Packer bud who called me and was just SICK in what he witnessed at the start of the game.
Glad Bret won that game.
October 20, 2009 at 4:04 pm #810398Not sure if you live by a Northern Tool or not, but they usually have a bin of old computer fans that people have been wiring up in their shacks. $5 to $7 bucks is what I paid. Small, quiet and they don’t take much juice!
