Vexilar flashers are second to none. If you want a high-performance flasher, the vexilar is your best bet, preferably the FLX series. They’re bulletproof units backed by fantastic customer service and industry-leading specs in display and target separation. The helix lineup’s biggest advantages are its maps. I personally rock the vexilar and use Navionics for my maps, and its worked great for me.

I have the spoon daddy I believe it’s 34″. Great rod for jigging raps and lippless baits but it also good for 1/8 ounce or bigger spoons. Medium fast action

That’s the one with the split grip handle, right? How has it been treating you this winter?

I generally won’t start until march when there are more bug hatches. I want to try it a little sooner this year; they’re smacking the tullies and whitefish on leech lake right now off of a mayfly hatch. Check it out on Tulibee takedown MN on facebook.

usmarine0352 I really like the way Mags look; they build their own blanks, right?

Thank you all so much! I’m located in central Minnesota. As of right now I can’t decide if I want just an older boat or a kayak. Since pedal kayaks are fairly expensive does anyone have any good regular kayaks that have a comfortable and good seat? I’ve been researching a little bit myself.

Personally I have purchased BlackFish brand raingear. Specifically the soft-shell Zenith and although it says soft shell it repels all the water and wind I’ve thrown at it thus far, I really look forward to using it some more. Super comfortable and a really quality product!

Yeah, it’s possible and just not very fun. By the time you get the fish out of the hole and into your hand and unhooked it’s pretty much frozen. Your lips crack like nothin else. You touch the water with your finger and if you don’t your hand in a glove in the next 10 seconds I’m pretty sure you’d be borderline frostbite. Only for the hardest (and sometimes stupidest) of anglers. But when you catch nice fish, it makes it worthwhile.

Thank you, I fish 80 feet of water and -30 degree weather in both extremes. Hole hopping. Thanks for your input, a lot of poeple if you ask for their favorite ice fishing reel the sienna is it.

Thanks Nate, that helped. I was already leaning towards the avid ice jogging rod, but I just wanted to see what mojo ice had to offer.

I plan on using 1/8 oz jigs. Ever heard of a HALI? That’s what I use the most. I usually hole hop, more often than not, no shelter.

Yes, sorry, I’m looking for a walleye rod. And when the walleye bite ends I usually fish tullibee with my walleye rod in 80 feet of water. But just focus on the walleye part. I can make anything work for the tulibees.
