In aluminum boats nothing beats a Crestliner’s warranties. It is now lifetime on the hull and that’s none depreciating the way Lunds are. They also have 3 years on the seats which is huge if you have kids. Kids always find a way to tear into them. The carpet will never mold either. My wife has allergies so that helps. For motors a lot of motors come with standard 3 years and opption to buy an extra 3. I agree that the E-tech is a nice motor but ordering will be a pain if it’s not on hand.

Well keep your head up. One will come along. I have a Johnson 90 4 stroke on my fishhawk and I love it. Bombardier really makes a great motor. It trolls down nice and has the power I need. You should have a salesman keep an eye out for a boat for you. They’ll have trades coming in from the boat shows. We still have a while before ice out something will come along.
February 27, 2006 at 7:19 pm #424959Great boat!! I own the 1750 with a 90 Johnson and I love it. Very smooth ride and it handles those bigger waves just great. Having that Yamaha on there is a nice. Wish Brunswick wouldn’t have said no more Yamaha’s on their boats .
February 27, 2006 at 6:33 pm #424944Yamaha makes a great motor no matter what size. I’ve ran almost every one. The F115 is a very good motor don’t shy away from it no matter what you might have heard. How did the whole Crystal Pierz thing work out? Or is this that boat?
February 25, 2006 at 7:21 pm #424463You are the master . But please explain varible camshaft timing, inbank exhaust, and single belt drive system. What does the belt drive? If you want to talk specific motors then let’s pick one. F115, F150, F225, or what ever you’d like. Yamaha has always been 4 cylinder. Mercury has a supercharged 4 stroke Verado. That’s NEW TECHNOLOGY.
February 25, 2006 at 3:39 pm #424409Yeah those guys are a little rough. I wish I could have seen it though. Probably was like that old movie “The Longest Yard.” Cambridge huh? You hillbilly! Just kidding it’s a great area up there. Love everything about it up here. Huntings great, fishings great, and I can take a leak off my porch and nobody laughs at me. (except my wife) My kids and grandkids say if I don’t stop they’ll never come up here again. I said good it’s better that way. Yeah I know I’m the HILLBILLY!!!
February 24, 2006 at 9:27 pm #424201HAHA. No I’m way to old to be in prison. I don’t think they’d even take an old fart like me. Just living the dream up in the woods. Hunting and fishing. YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!!!
February 24, 2006 at 8:00 pm #424157I’m an old timer so laugh if you want but I’d say:
I’m going to Jackson by Johnny Cash
Okie from Muskogee by Merle Haggard
Family tradition by Hank Williams JRFebruary 24, 2006 at 7:52 pm #424154Sorry DD if I seem like a “secret Shopper” I just thought I’d give my insight on CPM and share my experience with them. I probly would have thought the same thing. I just have dealt with a lot of dealerships and I really like CPM and so do all of my fishing buddies. I’ve told them about this site because I like it so they’ll be coming aboard soon and probly giving their 2 cents in. I think CPM does the best they can. People make mistakes it’s a fact of life. I’ve been taken care of by them well after the sale of my boats. WTail I’d hang in there and see what they can do for you buddy.
February 24, 2006 at 7:22 pm #424139I’ve stopped listening to the media after finding out that the media is 97% controlled by the liberals. Everything is one sided. When Bush was in MN the news barely covered it and spent almost 3x’s longer covering Kerry’s speech in Iowa. They didn’t show much of Bush’s speech but covered complaining travelers that were stuck in traffic because of him being in town. Any neggative slant they can give Bush they’ll do it. Minnesota will always be Democrat state. I remember when Reagan ran we were the only state that didn’t vote in his favor. So no more media for me. I read through their B.S.
February 24, 2006 at 6:08 pm #424118Both are great motors. I’ve ran both and loved them both. The thing is Yamaha has not changed anything with their motors since 2000 and this year will not have a year on the motors any more. They’ll only have an availability date on them. You also are unable to get them on any Brunswick boats like Lund and Crestliner. The Mercury is newer Technology and is a little louder and not as good on fuel but not that far off of a 4-stroke.The new “Smart Gauges” work very well to control your RPM’s. The new Verado is awesome but will drink gas at full throttle it’s very good at about 3/4 throttle. It is a heavy motor and needs a big boat to handle it. Good Luck in your decision and I hope I helped you out a little.
February 24, 2006 at 3:25 pm #424045My grandsons got me onto muskie fishing a few years ago. I was always a walleye kind of guy but, after going after muskies it’s hard to go back. I started out with a Abu Garcia and loved it. I had an ugly stick for a rod it worked out great. I still use the Ambassador reels and have upgraded my rod since. I asked my grandsons to “pool” in their money and get grandpa a Calcuta reel. (I think that’s how you spell it?) Good luck but be prepaired to get “hooked” on fishing these creatures!
February 24, 2006 at 12:29 am #380989I’ve dealt with a lot of boat companies in my day. Some bad, some good, and some great. CPM for me ranks one of the best all around. I’ve now bought 3 boats from them and love my expierences with that company. I was able to meet the owner Myron at a show last year and he gave me his cell phone number. Now I’ve never had that happen at any other dealership. Come to find out his number is in their brochures. He stands behind his staff and product and is a great guy. Sorry for your experience but I’m not changing my point of veiw on Crystal Pierz Marine
