Eventually my display had to be replaced a few weeks ago. It was no longer under warranty. Let us know what HB thinks the problem is.

It seems to only overheat on hot, sunny days.

Timothy. I took her out today. Direct connect bow to TM for several hours. Reconnected to network. Had to re/pair TM to handheld. No problems all day. I hope it stays that way.

So I see a problem in the front plate where the TM and HB wires come out. It’s a hole. Have any ideas on how to close it?

Thanks Carver. That’s quite helpful. I was thinking about doing the same thing and now will. Is there a marine type or special silicon you use? Mine is a 2106 and the water doesn’t get in the bow compartments form their lid. It has a good glass lip to prevent this. The water appears to run from the tip of bow like a stream through the compartments. I use a dry vac and leave open to dry. PITA.

2016. Yeah it was pouring off and on plus towing in the rain.

Thanks Timothy. That makes sense. What is ASC?

Yeah I restarted and that worked too among other things. HB is focused on finding a lose connection. I’ll let you know if i solve it. I’m now focused on the connections to the back of the units. But, If restarting works does that imply a connection problem?????

Software is updated. It looks more like a vibration issue due to how ipiolt disconnects and connects when running on plane. BTW, old software does not just act up if it hasn’t but new software can have bugs.

Thanks Aaron. After much research I put the heading sensor in the back of the boat. More stable than the bow which can effect the sensors reading.

Eric a Skeeterboat center was a great help. The factory forgot to drill holes in the rod locker. Drill baby drill:)

Thanks Dean. It has never drained and I had it built new in 2016. I can’t even see drain channels and I think I know where they should be given where the water gathers. Can you tell me what a drain channel should look like? Just a gap in the seams?

It was the driveshaft bushing. A little lube will take care of it.

I think Yamaha is a fine motor with a good reputation. Yamaha is new to me this year and I have previously use Suzuki. I just never kept a boat for more than 3 years until now where I have the boat I want. It’s just a noise I hear and wonder about. There is no such thing as any “fool proof” mechanical product. It could very well be it will make that noise after long runs and do no damage. I am going to document with the dealer and have it looked at to be covered under warranty just in case. Read the various message boards lots of different experience with this noise and most have no mechanical problem.

I’m taking her to the dealer next week for service. I have been reading a lot about drive shaft bushings needing lubrication and the difficulty with getting lubrication into them without taking the water pump off.

I don’t think so. It is definitely a whine coming from the motor head. Not sure if it’s gears or timing belt. Doesn’t happen when I come off plane slow

Yes dry storage is an issue. Also the bow bait well doesn’t drain week when on the trailer. The drainage tub just doesn’t have the slope so there is always a little water in it.

Wave poor looks nice in the videos. One question. They look thin and less sturdy than the original pedestal. I’m 6’5″, 240 and my mates are big boys too. I’ve broke air ride before. Will these hold up with big guys?

Correct that is the plastic insert the where does the water go after it drains out of the insert?

Yes I think that is the solution. Its a new 2016 and I am surprised that vents were not in those compartments. The dealer is taking care of it.

That water came in from back trolling in 4 ft seas. The problem is that there is no vent to let the water go into the bilge to be pumped out. Rather odd there is no vent. Dealer looking at it now.
