I’ve fished this pond for a few years now honestly most of the gills are 8+ when I find them most of the crappie this year are running small but i noticed they kind run in schools by size.. Catch a bunch of small ones in a school then the next ones will be nice

Just out of curiosity why does the split grip give more feel?? I normally hold mine with my hand on it front portion with my index on the front blank.

I wasn’t saying slender spoons are the best was just saying that’s what I was using at the time.. Just thought maybe the might have hit it on the flutter and that’s how it happened not sure

Sorry i havent got the chance to get back fellas. I would Say walking only from now on. Saturday we fished Indian and the ice was VERY inconsistent.. A few spots we drilled were about 20 inches and a few other were varied up to about 32 inches. We walked out and felt very comfortable about it. There was one guy out with a truck and 3 with wheelers. As stated above the top of ice was good but about half way through was very week.

the slice is about a foot up the transducer.. For around here most of the time that would be out of the water but in south dakota the ice is 30 to 36 inches from what ive read.

So now a really wide question.. Haha what to use for a lure? Spoons jigging raps? i will have a tungten with spikes for finicky perch on my tucr noodle.. But what should i use for the aggressive perch and walleye? I have a small spoon box with size 1/16 oz and 1/8 ratlin flyers and 1/16 oz tinglers and a few stop signs and a few 1/16 oz slender spoons.. thinking tipping with a minnow head. what would be your first choice?..

Well i dont always fish solo.. i fish with a partner prabably 1 out of every 3 times out and with it being thermal i was thinking it might be faster to heat up on cold days.. on warm days i will just leave the shack down and use it as a seat.

This is everything on one of the square plastic bases that hold the entire unit. Just looking for a case to store it in and keep it a little cleaner but i would prefer it be a marcum case. I think calling them would be the best way to go.

i suppose i could have been more specific. This is an eagle claw so it had ratio and free spool.
