Now I’ve never seen the hubs your talking about so I don’t know how big the hole is. What about putting a coffee stirrer or some other small straw in the hole while it’s draining so the air can come in as the oil goes out. It there already is a vent in the hub never mind. Just a thought for you guys to try if you haven’t already.

Thanks alot for the info guys. I really appreciate it. I just didn’t really want to make a 40 mile round trip out there without knowing a little bit about what to expect. I haven’t fished in over two weeks because of school, so I’m really anxious to get back out there. You know I was wondering though because after I read all of these posts I did make a trip out there last night and it looked like there was an old road downstream from the dam, and the map said there was a hatchery around there. What was the road for and where is the hatchery? It was nearly dark when I went so I really couldn’t tell. Thanks again and good luck this weekend to those of you braving the crowds. Be safe out there.

I used to work for Cabelas in the product information department and the main problem people had with seeing fish deep down is their cone angle of the transducer. It wasn’t so much the resolution because anymore the higher ones are at least a 480X480 resolution. If you have too large an angle you aren’t going to see down deep in as much detail as you would if you have a smaller cone angle. The newer ones have almost completely gotten rid of that worry because they are either dual or triple cone angle built in.

Lowrance definitely has some good techs if you speak to the right person. I have been on the phone with them several times. Their website has a huge amount of information on it as well. Hope this helps.
