Trail cams are never the “best images” and I find myself split in my opinion for the reasons below.
1- looking at the front of the animal you can see the inside of the far front leg and appears to have patterning which is bobcat. Pattern is very faint or non existent elsewhere though
2- the ears have me thinking mt lion. They are blurry in photo but seem more rounded, and also the dark backside. Google images of “Mt lion head” has several images where the backside is darker and also starts to show some white markings.
3- height it appears to be touching most of the undergrowth, but without a true scale I don’t know how tall that is so it could be either.
Do you have any other images? We can’t see the tail which is always a definite answer between bobcat and mt lion.
No other pics, just wish it would have been a little further away from the camera. The farmer next door stopped in a couple months ago and told me he just saw a cougar crossing the field when he was planting beans.
