This time of year I go deep. On Sand Lake I have caught them as deep as 50 ft. down in 60 ft. of water.

We have a Champion 2000 from Cabela’s. On sale at $350, with Cabela Bucks it was around $275. Very quiet, no problems to report. Or you can spend $1000 on a Honda….
October 1, 2017 at 7:05 am #1718014Tent camping in October? Your a better man than I. I would not do it unless I had a favorable 5 day weather forecast.
September 22, 2017 at 7:22 am #1716525I think it is as good as his Civil War show. I am especially pleased at how unbiased the show is. It is a very good job at showing the complexities and political maneuvering that went on. Last nights episode was a real downer. Three US companies nearly wiped out to captured a nameless numbered hill we abanded an hour after we captured it. I’ll bet tonight’s will even be worse with the Tet offensive.

June 16, 2017 at 6:54 am #1699376BWCAW, Basswood, Trout and Saganaga Lakes offer motorized camping with a 25 hp motor size limit. As we grew older we left the canoe behind more and more as we switched to motor powered wilderness boat camping. Motor boat camping is far more comfortable than canoe camping. A list of creature comfort items one can bring in a boat but not practical in a canoe is long. Screen house, cooking table, lawn chair, coolers full of ice, soft drinks, sleeping cot, sonar/GPS unit, electric air mattress pump, and so on.
May 13, 2017 at 6:42 am #1693946I changed my oil on our Explorer. Unknown to me the filter O-ring stayed on the engine. When I put the new filter back on it twisted the old O-ring and soon all my oil was gone. Drove about 25 miles that way. Did not seem to have any effect on that engine. Obviously, your results may be different.
April 28, 2017 at 7:10 am #1691136I often wondered how much of Terry’s naivete was real and how much was schtick. Like the F. Scott Fitzgerald bit.
April 28, 2017 at 6:46 am #1691126With a thermostat controlled electric heat source you get temperature control. If you forget about it or need to run an errand the temperature holds. I would not give up that feature.
March 31, 2017 at 6:43 am #1685463Few things in life are as troublesome as trailer lights. I know it is not just me as I see it all the time on the road. One or both lights not working.
March 23, 2017 at 7:21 am #1683252I pay $6 or $7 a quart for the Evinrude 4-stroke oil. But I suspect the $3 oil at Menards would work just fine. With an oil change only every 100 hours I figure why take a chance.

I’ve become too much of a curmudgeon to pay, stand in line and navigate crowded aisles just to be subjected to advertisement.March 17, 2017 at 6:06 pm #1682061I found the used market flooded with rusty, rock chipped trailers. It took me a long time to find a nice one.
March 17, 2017 at 6:03 pm #1682059The Searchers is my number one by far. It inspired Buddy Holly to write a hit single.
March 10, 2017 at 4:27 pm #1680362You can purchase a used handgun from a private party who is a MN resident. If you wish to purchase a new or used one from a licensed dealer you need a Permit to Purchase available from the county sheriff and good for one year. If you have a CC permit that acts as a Permit to Purchase for the 5 years it is valid.
February 17, 2017 at 8:39 am #1674765Those plow handle grips bite into my hands in anything larger than .22
else I’d make a move on this one. Very low price IMO, good luck.January 24, 2017 at 8:07 am #1668060I likely will go to my grave not understanding why anyone would give up their personal freedom and all the other associated problems for the sake of owning a dog.
January 22, 2017 at 8:15 am #1667484We fish shallow via ATV and snowmobile in portables in the Cyrus area. But we do not get a midday bite. For an all day bite with walleye & sauger I think it best to get out into the 32 fow bowl towards the center of the lake. Lots of resorts set up in that area and take you there via Bombardier
.January 19, 2017 at 9:52 am #1666872I borrowed a Nova one day to shoot a round of trap. I had my standard reloads and I felt it recoiled harder than the Wingmaster I was shooting at that time. Gun fit could have been the cause.
January 19, 2017 at 9:44 am #1666869I just bought a 2000 watt Champion from Cabela’s. $400 minus $150 in my Cabela Bucks. We are using it on the road now and am pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is. We run it in the box of our tow pick up while we sleep 5′ away in our 5th wheel forward bed room. Has the low output mode, 12 V output, fuel shut off, starts easily, ran 9 hours on a gallon tank of fuel under low load, 48 lbs make one handed carry possible. I’m not saying it’s as good as a Honda/Yamaha as I have no experience with those, but I can buy a second new Champion unit and still have $200 less invested than the major brands.
December 16, 2016 at 7:07 am #1657607Wednesday there were ATV’s on all 3 south bays. Going up the west side as far as Eddy’s no sign of any activity.
December 7, 2016 at 6:39 am #1655127Small one-place ATV sized trailers are cheap on Craig’s List. So much easier than loading onto a truck.
November 19, 2016 at 6:45 am #1651421In the 50’s and early 60’s the roads surrounding Waconia Lake would be slick with frog remains squished by traffic. This usually happened mid to late Oct. Our family would catch so many we kids could not lift the gunny sacks. We went out just after dark as they were most vulnerable then in the shallow water. I remember my mother lining up 20 or more 1/2 gallon milk cartons on the table to fill with frog legs for the freezer. Very good eating. I always heard they were wiped out by a “red leg” disease.
October 29, 2016 at 8:14 am #1647774I thought slow leaks in tires and short battery life is business as usual on ATVs.
October 26, 2016 at 8:08 am #1647151Dec. 14 – 18 for us. We do mid Dec. every year. Lately we have to sweat out the ice thickness up to the last minute. Last year was the first time we actually had to cancel & reschedule.Good luck!
October 1, 2016 at 8:01 am #1642539I see plenty on the gunbroker.com, but most is priced at more than $1.00/piece. I did not realize this was a caliber that gets a premium price for used brass. Before I’d pay that amount I would buy factory ammo and save that brass when fired.
