I’ve used the Spike It dies for years and they work great on smoke, pumpkin, watermelon colored baits. I’ve never done it to black worms mainly because I’m using a different profile bait like a jig or just stick with plain black if water is that stained.

If your point is to totally change a color with paint it won’t do that but giving the bait a bright tail it does a great job of. It doesn’t look obvious in your hand but really shows when put into the water.

You guys are right about backing up your bookmarks, an HTML file can be used by all browsers.

I understand him wanting to be able to access them online and not just back them up. With Firefox Sync if you use two computers through a week all of your viewed pages and information are maintained and it appears as though you were on one device the entire time. Little bit different than simply backing them up. Sync keeps a single source history of your browsing. Therefore if you buy a new device and enter your account number all your bookmarks are immediately imported without the extra file.

I’ve never looked into a site but if you use Firefox you can set up the Sync feature to save whatever browser history, bookmarks, cookies you want to be saved on their server so that any computer you use and set up apporpriately will have your information. It is a newer feature for Firefox so depending upon your current version you may need to upgrade it to find the feature.

I can’t answer your question directly but hopefully can shed some light. I purchased the 365i last year because for me the GPS was much more important than color was while sticking at that price point. I don’t think I would trade my flasher for it as the main ice unit but as a second/GPS map function it is great. I decided to get the ice package for my son to use a little too late in the year so the ice case was on back order until late March. I never got to compare it side by side to my fl8. Just playing around it doesn’t appear to operate much different then the old Clearwater Classic type ‘flashers’.

As a summer unit and in general I have been very happy with the performance of the unit. Sure a 10″ screen and color would be great but you get a lot of features in a small price with the 3 series.

I was just going to post about Open Office. It will do everything you need and then some. Really a must have for anyone that chooses not to purchase Microsoft Office programs.

I will put a plug in for Royalton Heating and Air in Brooklyn Park. They helped my family out of a furnace fire sitaution about 25 years ago so when I upgraded a few years ago they got a call. Prices were very fair compared to other estimates and they were honest about what my house could handle. Instead of simply selling the highest efficiency they told me I wouldn’t see a nickle savings over a moderate unit because of the small ducts in the older house.

Not a true braid but, I’ve been using my sons ugly stick combo to test out Fireline Crystal since last year. It seems like he has lost a little casting distance and will have it bite into itself on the spool if he really buries a cast into the weeds. But I feel that the benefits of superline have out weighed the drawbacks since he began using it. I’ve been meaning to put some on his Diawa Silvercast but haven’t done it yet.

    Thanks Jason.

I’ve been wanting to learn this technique for a couple of years and just started looking at equipment. My guess is it would be easier for my 5 year old to reel in a rap than drag jigs all day.

What rods to you guys find most effective? It looks like Jason was using some Legends, but I was wondering if you use more trolling rods or bottom bouncing rods for three way trolling.

Most of the time that message is the result of not closing IE before powering down the computer and not a reason for concern. Firefox works the same way.

If you select Go To Homepage does it proceed to the page?

As far as installing Firefox, you can save the install file from the Mozilla webpage to CD, USB drive, or any portable media and install it on the computer. I always keep a copy on my USB drive just in case.

Another option that is very close to you is the bait shop on Hwy 10 in Anoka. I think the Anglers Paradise sign is gone since the Liqour store upstairs remodeled. I have used Jack many times before and highly recommend his work.

If you are looking for new the best thing going right now is probably the Abu Garcia Revo Winch. I use inches per turn instead of gear ratios since they can be a little misleading. The Winch takes in 20.6″ per turn while a couple of other reels take in 21″. I hope my old Quantum 1310CP holds together until someone comes out with another reel around 15-17″ per turn. I like my cranking reels to be very slow since I tend to reel way too fast.

Ford has been doing this for a while. My wife and I had a 2007 Focus and now own a 2008, both had the BP recommendation on the gas cap. Not sure what kind of kickbacks they are getting but both my F150 and the car run better on BP gas.

I fished the same area on Saturday and around 5 found their way into my boat. It is scary to think how many are in there already when it only took a few hours to reel up that many.

Sounds like my situation 4 years ago. I would think if you maxed out with a 135, getting close to 50mph would not be a problem. Most I have seen are set up with a 115. I get 28-30mph with a 60hp Suzuki 4stroke when fully loaded, 2 people, and a livewell full. 32mph with a light load and myself. The new storage set up they came up with a couple of years ago is much better for rod storage, but you will definitely be longing for more space. I went from a Tr-186 to my Tuffy and miss the extra tackle storage. Nothing a nice tackle bag wouldn’t help with. My 4 year old son loves it.

I am considering a console version for getting back into club tournaments in the next couple of years. I agree that fuel consumption will be a financial problem from here on out.

This will be my fourth season running a 1998 1700t Osprey. I fish Mille Lacs on occasion and have never felt unsafe, but you will need to be smart about running 3-4 footers. Of course it is smooth as silk for me in the back but riders have commented it gets a little rough up front in 3 footers. My opinion is they are smoother than similar tin boats without question. Can’t help with the console version but I would buy another Tuffy in a second.

I am a bass guy at heart so I love the high front deck the 1700 has. I am not running tournaments at the moment so it was an economical set up that works great for an occasional walleye fix too. I really like the versatility of the 1700 layout for multispecies fishing.

I hope it doesn’t happen, but all the Jets have to do is release him and he can sign anywhere he wants. With the salary cap relief the Jets are getting I am sure he would get his release if he asks.

I have owned two Force motors. The first was a 120 we put on a older bass boat and the second a 90 on a Nitro. The 120 my brother and I combined to own for 7-8 years and the 90 I owned for 6 years. Neither motor was ever in the shop other than preventative maintenance under our watch. Once Mercury took them over it was a Chrysler design with Mercury parts. Find out if it is pre or post Mercury and you will know if it is worth it. The Mercury lower units are great quality, but the older Chrysler Force motors had many issues.

Thanks Kooty, I hope to talk more about P4 as time goes on but I can’t get down there this weekend.

To get to Pelican from 25, take 37 towards Albertville and then take a right on 117. Can’t miss the train of trucks or I mean the access from there. It is about 1-2 miles up on the left. I will be trying to avoid the crowds somewhere out there tonight.

Like Kooty said, after last weekend I don’t think there is a snowflake left that has not been driven over. Just be careful around the landing, there was an accident there last weekend I guess.

I had to leave before the bite started but plenty of keepers are still being found. I couldn’t believe the number of people out there last Saturday.

I purchased a new Mako recently and love it so far. A friend has had what is now the Stingray for probably 15 years and it is still running strong, that is why I didn’t hesitate to buy one.

I really like the covered exhaust and covered throttle cable among other features, but it is not the lightest auger out there either.
