Very nice eyes. Thanks for sharing.
I am lucky to be heading out there this afternoon…. Hope it is not the last time this year….
Here fishy, fishy!
October 21, 2014 at 2:58 pm #1466003Regrettably had my boat winterized this past weekend. After looking at the weather for this week and the solunar forecast the next couple days I need to get out on the river and get some walleyes.

I’m pretty flexible schedule wise so I can get out on short notice. I’ll certainly chip in for gas and bring food and drinks.

If anybody can help I’d surely appreciate.

I know there is another section to post for open seats, but the river is a site inside itself so please don’t move the post.
March 21, 2014 at 2:15 pm #1398095To say the least I am a little bit jealous. It will be a while before I can get at my boat and I think I am starting to twitch. Good luck guys! I know all the fish will still be there when I get back at it.
July 15, 2013 at 8:36 pm #1183659Thanks for the update Mike. Will be out this coming Saturday. I will report back what I find.
April 29, 2013 at 11:49 am #1166552Was out on Saturday morning and started at the dam. Did see a few fish being caught but as more boats arrived and nothing happening in our boat we decided to try our luck at the confluence. Caught two eyes there but what a great weather day!!!!
October 3, 2008 at 2:07 am #39324After reading this forum the other day I decided to do a little test on the birds. When I used both drakes & hens the birds would decoy. As soon as I added Goose decoys off to the side the woodies went out of there way to avoid the spread. Then I removed the goose decoys and they started dropping right in again. It did not seem to affect the mallards or bluebills.

September 30, 2008 at 2:01 am #39083I was out hunting after work today & had 3 different flocks of bluebills come into my spread. I have never seen them in the area this early in the season around here.
September 29, 2008 at 2:05 am #39044As Steve stated we don’t get much of a migration here in WI This weekend was a rather slow one here in the Chetek area. We did manage to get our wood ducks and a couple of teel. The mallards are sticking to the more populated areas of the chain where you can’t hunt them. What really upsets me is like what happned Saturday night. Hunting hours ended in my area at 6:53pm and some guys were still shooting at almost 7:30pm. My wife said it must be someone shooting fireworks off until a boat with hunters came down the creek with flashlights. Where is the warden when you want them around. I will be watching with a spotlight next weekend to get the numbers off of their boat. It’s people like them that ruin it for the rest of us. Enough of my venting, good luck to all th MN hunters next weekend.

September 26, 2008 at 10:48 am #38925I had built a blind frame out of PVC a few years back but the only problem was after 2 years of use it got brittle & started cracking & breaking. Last year me and a buddy built a flip down frame out of metal conduit. He managed to pull some pic’s off of some websites like cabela’s and we just copied it using a pipe bender & conectors. Then we covered it in camo burlap & ziptied other materials like hay to the outside. This year I did the same to my 16′ but made it stationary.
September 15, 2008 at 2:27 am #38113I will be going through a few boxes in storage this week & if I run across any pic’s of the blind before I added the wood I will let you know so you can get me an address to e-mail them to. After I seen a pic I found it easy to make. I think the cost of the frame was about $25. It took me about 2 hours make.
September 15, 2008 at 12:15 am #38072I just did a search for some plans that I used a few years back but no luck. The frame was made out of 1 1/2″ PVC with 3/8″ plywood screwed to the outside. Then it was painted camo and had either black bungies or netting to add hay or other material. It lasted me about 2 years but then started to crack & break.
I’m in the process of trying to find the same type of connectors for electrical conduit that they have for PVC. I may have to build it in sections & bolt it together. Overall the blind worked great. I hopes this helps.September 4, 2008 at 2:52 pm #37560The Avery blind bag hands down. I have had mine for 5 years years now & I’ts holding up to all the abuse it can take. As stated above it will float with up to six box’s
of shells but also holds a lot of gear & keeps it dry.September 4, 2008 at 2:13 pm #37559I have been scouting Geese for the last two weeks & not finding a lot in the area. Have asked a number of farmers for permission to hunt their fields & no one has given an ok. I get someone else is hunting them or a flat out no. No birds on the water to speek of, the only ones I can find are in pastures that have potholes but also have cattle around them, won’t even bother to ask there. Looks like I took the week off for nothing.
