I had a taxidermist do my daughters first one just so I knew it was done right, your price seems high, think I only paid about $60. I’ve done a couple of my own since then and the first one was a little rough, didn’t quite get opened all the way and didn’t stay perfectly flat. Last couple have been better but glad I didn’t experiment on her first one.

skeeters are the only thing I have found that therma cells work on. a couple buddies of mine have said they are having good luck with buggins insect repellant for flies and gnats. gotta get me some and try it, its available at menards stores I believe

thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Unfortunately I have suffered this loss too, with me it was not just hunting, I lost my drive to pursue anything. Its a cliché but time does heal. Killing is only part of hunting, maybe instead of a gun take a camera.

I don’t think it matters a whole lot. I know guys who hunt public land and pop them up that morning. We hunt private land so we usually set ours up the weekend before to make it easier and that way you can take your time and let your daughter really help out with the setup, mine always look forwards to set up weekend almost as much as the hunt weekend. We would take our chairs and decoys out too and leave in blind so on the morning of the hunt we would have minimal luggage. Hope your daughter takes to it like mine did.

Don’t know if you have a blind or plan on using a blind but I would highly recommend it for kids. If so you don’t need to spend a bunch of money on camo she’ll outgrow in a year or two anyway. My two girls hunted 3 or 4 years in a blind without much camo, just wearing something dark and quiet that they already had.

If you don’t mind I’d like to hear a review on the blind when you get it. I’m in the market for a new one too and sometimes both daughters and myself are all sharing the blind and it tends to be a little crowded.

had to have all coils replaced on my 2008, although mine would not get up on plane and go it would just put along in “safe mode”. I was lucky mine was under warranty so no idea on cost.

I’m afraid I disagree with most on here, make an example out of her. In my experience it seems like the more civil and discrete I was the more people didn’t care about trespassing or getting caught because they knew nothing more than a talking to would come of it. Once word gets out that you are playing hardball and will prosecute that is when people will think twice before crossing lines. I also don’t buy into she doesn’t know shes doing anything wrong. Since when do people have to be told not to break the law, do I have to hang a sign on my house saying do not steal my stuff, why do I have to hang a sign saying no trespassing. Anyone should know that you cannot just wander anywhere you like without permission. It takes a lot of $, time and effort to manage our land and it is pure disrespect for an outsider to completely ignore that. I may sound a little bitter because I am over previous situations I’ve had so just my 2 cents worth.

I would agree with flatland that Friday night was awesome, by my account anyway, this is our first year bowhunting. Had a group of 7 doe file through and then following them about 10 min later was a very nice 10 pt. All about 60 yds though, they have 2 main paths they follow and so far I have always chosen to sit on the wrong one and then right at dark 2 doe and a 6 pt came through. Quite a few scrapes are starting to pop up and did witness a small 6 grunting and harassing a doe. Afternoon sits have by far outproduced morning sits

bought my 2 daughters each a mission craze last year. draw weight range of 15-70 and length of 19-30 it’s a smaller bow and seems to fit them well now and should fit them for a long time. they were $299 plus about another $100 to get it set up.

we were on 10 week before last and had tough going, fishing bass and panfish, fish were very scattered with one or two here and there and lots of time inbetween bites. grass and weed beds seemed either way behind schedule or they were all under water. only been fishing 10 for last couple of years so still on the learning curve.

used to use it a lot on dark trail cam pics, you could lighten up a lot of the nite pics and see what was actually there, I think that it was actually a picasa 2 download that we used.

wiromes thats the exact same thing I applied for for my daughter zone 1 a or b, should be a lock next year with a preference point. kooty, they only issue so many permits per time frame and with a and b being the most popular they sometimes have more applicants than permits.leftover permits begin with season c which there are only about 3000 of them and they will go fast, as you progessively go thru seasons d,e,and f more tags are available as the interest in the later seasons fades. bottom line she will still get to hunt probably season d but we now are left out of season [censored]
