Thank you Jon Jordan and others. I may be jumping the gun with my plastic remarks. I will give it time, but I do think Lund should re-think the design of the phone holder.

Here is a photo of the plastic holder with two screws. You can see the cheap plastic used. Very sharp rough edges. The phone is an LG G6.

Just to clarify my post. It is a new 2018 Lund Impact 1875 SS. The built-in phone holder is standard and is what Lund sends out with the boat. Too narrow for “most” phones (my opinion). It may fit if I take the rubber case off the phone but it would fly around and scratch up. There is no option on replacing with a larger holder.I won’t use it anyway because I use a strip of velcro on a flat part of the dashboard. It’s not that big of a deal, I just wanted to mention that the guy sitting at the design table at Lund, did not give it too much thought.

I just picked up my new Impact. I also was not happy with the amount of space for a Helix so I got a 7 inch one with a short RAM Mount. Big enough for me.
Also noticed the amount of “cheap” plastic in the steering wheel area. The so-called smartphone holder is a joke. Way to small for most phones.
Also I did not add a “tilt” steering wheel. I not have to live with loud squeek noise (plastic against plastic) at the base of the wheel. Anyone else notice this?.
