It came from Chaos Tackle. Once they explained the reason why it made sense. I was forced to learn how to change out hooks and will help me in the future. Just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Tom and Rodwork you nailed it here is the response from the manufacturer

having a set of split ring pliers is a must in the boat for times like you mentioned where you need to cut and replace a hook. The reason that we’ve bagged hooks separately for about 3 years now is that like you mentioned, the lures aren’t the cheapest and we’ve found that our customers prefer to put the hooks on when they get the lure versus having any potential hook rash on the lures from the multiple times they’re bounced around being shipped and handled before reaching the customer. Next time you order, feel free to add a note to the order that you’d like the hooks installed before shipping and we’d be more than happy to do that. Enjoy the baits!

Stella Remember when you used to chase roosters with Chelsea? Remember when I picked you up at the rescue shelter, princess was your middle name. You got to cut your teeth in the field with a dog that had a great nose ( Chelsea) You were a retrieving machine, man did you two make a great pair. Over the years you developed into a fine partner for both the field as well as the home. Not a mean bone in your body. It is now patches turn to step up and follow in your footsteps. Remember all of the time we spent in the field. You were so happy to be hunting and finding birds. We shared a bond together that I will never forget. You provided so much joy in my life! This morning was not easy but do know I made the right decision today. You were in pain and had trouble getting up. You are now in a better place. Stella you are now reunited with Chelsea. You are now the one that is licking my grandfathers hand and begging him to grab his gun and take you to the pheasant swamps. Stella you can now show Chelsea all that you learned during your short time on earth. I got you when you were two and we just wrapped up our 12th hunting season together. You were able to get on birds two weeks ago (preserve) and do me proud. There is an empty spot in my heart. I will think of you fondly once the grief wears off. Rest In Peace my friend, It was my honor to spend your life with you! In the next few days I will search for pictures and videos of you, believe me there will be a lot of “remember when” discussions! I love you girl!

I was lucky enough to end up with both of my grandfathers tackle boxes. I have a bathroom with a fishing theme and ended up doing this to remember the good times. I think of them both often!

Funny I was just watching a you tube on the transom saver, Good advice. I am putting it on a 16″ Lund aluminum boat. Is it ok to run the electronics off of the same battery I use for the trolling motor?

Made it out this morning. I walked out but did see some cars and small trucks. Weird that there is not 1 permanent set up in shanty town.

I refuse to put them on a chain around my neck….. Never have them when I need them… Always have my phone and when dining out I have resulted to taking pictures of the menu and enlarging the picture so I can figure out what to order…. Yes I do know exactly where the pair is in my tackle box….

I had a good time in South Padre Island Tx they had a nice Campground that was 30 years agoI am sure a lot has changed. I went down there two years in a row 1 year camped at the campground the next year pitched a tent on the beach!! I guess this would be a traditional spot. Can always check out one of the National Parks,

thanks all for your comments/ suggestions not my intention to open the “can of worms” just looking for a little advice on something I know little or nothing about. Will do a little research on-line as it seems there are varying opinions.

The Sebile hook is built into the lure almost on a spring, when the fish bites the hook moves from below the bait to even with the bait, do not think you could pull it off on your own, the selling point is that the bait dives deep but will not snag as the point of the hook runs up……
