Ever been cut off at an intersection? See someone blow through a red light? Did you report it to the proper authorities?

But then again I’m sure you’re right and tournaments have nothing to worry about. Keep on keepin’ on.

James, is your perception of tournament anglers? Cutting people off and breaking the law? I don’t feel it is, but your last post sure does look like it makes that point.

Side note, the MN. D.N.R. did use to receive tournament complaints in the past, and about every thing under the sun has been addressed thru the permitting. After the last tweaks where made over two years ago, the following year there where no complaints. Also directors in MN. took a hard look at the pressure put on many popular tournament lakes and started working together to take some of the pressure off of these lakes. Also talking and dealing with Lake [censored].
with there concerns about tournaments on the body’s of water they represent. Has it solved all of public perception? Probably not. Is there any thing that will make every water user no. So fees will be paid and tournaments in MN. will continue to be the most regulated in all of the U.S.A. and in the state that has more lakes than any other we will continue to take the jabs of any one that wants to throw them. What many recreational anglers will never understand is the feeling of going to anther state for a big tournament and banners welcoming you and every local business, asking you if you are in “the tournament” and thanking you for stopping by.
Something is not right with this state and its attitude towards tournaments.

Theres a lot of talk about public perception in this post. I have not talked to regional fishery’s managers this year about tournament complaints last year, but from the year before the MN D.N.R fishery’s managers did not receive one compliant for a permitted tournament. So it is always strange for me to read on fishing websites about “public perception”?

The first year I fished the I.D.A tournament, I asked Cory if there were any rules about fishing around gas pumps and he said there were not. Cory then asked if I knew if was a D.N.R regulation. He and I checked the regs. and could not find any reg. against it(did his job to the fullest). One thing I find, is for some unknown reason anglers do not check with the director, it takes two minutes and clears up a lot of problems. Good job finding fish under bait tanks and better job posting you were the angler in question. Cory has done a great job in the past running this tournament.

This happened at a bass tournament this weekend on Lake Waconia. An angler that was not in the tournament followed the team that won the last two tournaments (back to back). The team in the event stuck a 5 pound bass, then the angler in the black and orange Ranger Boat started doing circles around the team and marking the spot on G.P.S. Once the team was fed up with this angler, they left and and the angler started fishing the spot.
This angler did this to other teams.
I’m all for rec. anglers watching tournament anglers to try and learn some of the techniches of tournament anglers, but a little courtesy must be upheld.
I was told by another team the angler is a tournament angler and has an up comeing tournament on the same lake.

Frogger, so what you are saying is your “friends, friend” caught a 4lb plus fish, then put it in his live well, caught another put it in his live well and then was offered $100.00. My first question would be, does this “friends, friend” always keep 4lb bass and does he know it is illegal to sell wild game?

Glacier Lake Division draws the night of deadline to be in the drawing. There is one staff boat and the director fishes, the staff and the director alternate doing take offs, every other event. So spot # 4 is designated “staff” and last place at each event. The reason we do it this way is to stream line check-in and less work to set up.
PitBull, if the director is drawing there own #er who is doing there take off?

Hunter’s Point has my support and I will send a letter. There is a strong trend that is going on in MN. and that is to drive many resort owners out of business, high taxes, developers buying the property and so on.
My point is I want to have a choice in the future for my children to enjoy a get away. Slowly in MN. the choices are disappearing.

One thing tournament angler’s should remember is any time a tournament organization does not make good on prize money, it should be reported to there state D.N.R. because this does effect the permitting process and helps protect tournament anglers.
Any angler who’s morals allow them to fish with an organization that was built on the backbone of a ponzi scam, I say good luck in your fishing endeavors.

If anyone can help please contact attorney Michelle Zickert.
In the WI. case there are no Rumors, Speculations, & Innuendos, just a court ruleing.

J.C, I don’t feel there is any stance against any one, I put this post up to promote U.S. Anglers Choice tournaments.
You asked for % pay out and input from another tournament director and he gave you input.
Go back and look at the number you first # thru out 84%,seemed a little high? I wrote the checks for two years in the Team Supreme Divisions Rich I ran. As I sayed this post was to promote the tournaments I now run, I hope Team Supreme does well just as when Rich and I ran the two divisions for them.
As for this all going out on public forum you have my phone #, heck everyone has easy access to it.
You can not make anyone look like a bad guy here, numbers are numbers.
Every time I post any thing since I left Team Supreme it seems you get involed and it becomes negitive.
I just want to promote the tournaments I now run and put Team Supreme behind me. I have always tryed to promote fun in tournaments and a negitive side that is brought to a simple announcment is no fun.

My fear in all this is that the Feduration will split with internal fighting on what way to go.I feel we will not ever see the Feduration as it once was and if we don’t see it as it once was will it be better?

I’m have been a member of MN Sportfishing Coalition since the begining of the Coalition and we have had some impact on useless tournament regs. but there are more to come, so please take the time to take a look and give some feedback because sometimes it does make a difference.
    Thank you.
