Watch about two or three more, and you’ll be hooked. Like I said, I don’t know if they’ll ever find the Motherlode. But, it sure is kind of fun to watch all the equipment and the technology they use. And I don’t think anybody can ever dispute the fact that they’re finding some pretty weird shafts and underground stuff, don’t worry all my friends give me heck about liking this show too

Finding gold in the water was interesting. I had always thought something very important was buried there, but removed a LONG time ago. Now I am less in that camp and thinking something might still be buried to leech off those minerals.

Watch about 2-3 episodes and realize this show is a waste of time.

What show isnt a waste of time?

I dont have a beer until I catch my first legal walleye. That said, sometimes I grant myself a “captain’s exemption”, but those are rare.

DONT VOTE……if you havent taken time to really understand what is at stake and the policies of who you are voting for. This isnt a popularity contest, it is about the direction we take this nation and who we want to be.

I just heard the Corp of Engineers is planning on putting in a new island just up from Hastings Dam. New structure or are we losing some good high water spots?

I did an exhaustive 2 min search and couldnt find a news story. Does anyone have more info?

My dad made this for his Skeeter from an ATV winch, spare parts and Northern Tool tires. I just inherited and it works great for Lunds too!

We NEED luck! Time on the water has been few and far between for the best looking team the hog haul.

Had a buddy pull in a shovel once from p2, funniest dam thing we both saw. Looked and thumped around in the current just like a fish. Wasn’t bummed at all when it eventually came up, we were both rotfl.

I scratched my head when I pulled in a lift jacket that looked like it was stuck in the mud for years. Glad there wasnt still a body in it….and how in the heck did it sink in the first place???

Unless a shovel can swim, this beast was clearly a fish though

Pool 2 last night, decent bite, but I had a first for me…..casting cranks on a wing dam and something hammered it and took off on a crazy run then swam super fast as I was just holding on. I got excited when I saw that gold color under the water until it came closer and it was a 5 lb carp! Hooks were in its mouth, so it definitely tried to eat it. Pretty cool.

Disappointing one for me, something BIG hit later long lining, had it on for about 5 min and it was still about 50′ away when the Suffix broke. Now, it might have been scuffed/nicked or something, but still, it took a lot to break that line. It never budged, just thumped and I only made up ground drifting back to it….thinking a giant flathead, but I will never know.

Dave – guesing he was fishing Pool 2 before you were born, you might be fishing his spots…

Vertical jigging with a plain jighead and a fathead.

Exactly, my comment was definitely tongue in cheek. The nice part about Griz is that he knows so many spots he never fishes close to anyone else. And he only gives you the death stare for 15-20 min if you pull up too close to him.

Would love to go with an old river rat like the griz . What techniques did he have you doing ?

I have never been in his boat, but i have never seen him do anything but verticle jig a minnow on Pool 2 when he comes to MY spots whistling

I was north of the confluence yesterday. Everything was biting, but the surprise was 5 nice pike. I talked to some others who have been getting more pike this year too. I think they all swam out of Pickerel or Snelling Lake and never made it back during the high water! Im half kidding, I have no clue, but it was odd to keep catching them.

Dave, please post where you saw that. Online filing only lets you submit 2023 now. Deadline is Aug. 15 of the year after the year you want to submit for plus an additional year. So cutoff for 2021 was Aug 15, 2023.

Well, I can’t show you what I didnt find! But it looks like you found the deadline date. It could be that the 3 year limit was for amended returns and since you never filed, it doesnt apply.

I was rooting for you getting that dough

File 2021 now, why not!??? I did a two minute scan of instructions and didnt see a cut off date for filing.

FYI…found out the House of Gloor at Neisens in Savage is no longer there. Last I checked they plan to find another location. Too bad cuz I really liked their stuff.

They are doing pop ups here and there

The boat cover fits into it too making it easy to throw on and the cover fits perfectly.

On my 2020 ProGuide there are 2 tracks. The SportTrak on the inside of the gunwale for accessories and one on the outside of the gunwale for the cover.

Lund is the same, maybe I described it poorly

The Lund “sport track” (I am sure other brands have something similar) is cool. You can move rod holders, cup holders, utility buckets all around in seconds. The boat cover fits into it too making it easy to throw on and the cover fits perfectly.

This is just a shout out to all you Game of Thrones fans out there. What a great series. But I just finished watching season two of House of dragons and I want to tell you this is eight hours of pure boredom, of a show that goes nowhere, That builds up to a climax that won’t even be in production until late 2025. This guy is one person who won’t be watching that, this show really sucks air. Nothing happens.

Well, compared to season 1, this season was captivating

My wife has a 2018 Honda Pilot that we have really been happy with. I was pushing for an Explorer because I think they look more truch like. But I really appreciate the way the Pilot drives and the interior. It has the tow package and is rated for 5K. I have pulled my Competitor 185 with it without issue. It’s not as good as towing with my F150, but it is more than enough for an SUV.

My gal had a Pilot leased and I didnt like driving it. I like Honda’s, our other car is a Civic, but it just wasnt comfortable for me.

Matt it was a short wingdam with a nice current seam running down the length of it. A perfect setup to swing a streamer. You’re right, most places would be out of reach mainly due to the depth.

I don’t know the top of the pool at all. I don’t know where the launches are, etc. I need to figure that out as I think the Smallies are bigger up there.

    Steve

Water is low so I’d just launch at Hidden Falls park. The rock shorelines from the dam to the confluence hold fish. Lots of little area with downed trees and other structure for smallies to hide in. My biggest smallies up there is 21.5” but there are a ton of 14-18” fish up there.

The water is low, but I was out there on Tuesday and surprised how fast the current was moving!

Whats the idea that a 3rd row is needed?

Every SUV w 3rd row seats are not adequate for anyone over the age of 10, and that’s pushing it. Just seems extra dough and room taken up for a row not needed.

That was/is my argument to her. Do you buy a vehicle for 98% of the time you drive or for the 2% when there are extra folks.

But the smaller kids are 11 and 13 and their friends are small too. Mostly just to have one vehicle where we can haul more than the Civic can handle. We did just haul 2 adults, 4 kids, a dog, 7 days worth of food, clothes and games up to Vermilion and we needed every inch!
