MN/WI looking at a cold front this weekend, does that have the same impact on ice as it doesnt on open water? I spend most of my time on rivers where the fish dont seem to care about weather.

December 31, 2024 at 3:31 pm #2307873WAY TO GO! Nearly 40 yrs anywhere is an epic run. Now I will need to get you up by noon so we can still hit DiGidio’s or the Boca Chica Taco Hut
December 24, 2024 at 10:47 am #2306711Im not here to argue, but this USED to be the simplest of exchanges. Times have changed. Govt involved, so many rules and regulations regarding money laundering and fraud that policies have changed. A gas station doesnt have to follow the bank secrecy act, currency transaction reports, etc, banks have just given a clear message to tellers to avoid criminal violations.
As a side note, there is a company in China that has a similar name to my employer, several times a year we get flagged for wire activity and people wont accept our funds or wire to us without us providing extra documentation. It can be a real hassle.
December 24, 2024 at 10:37 am #2306706I think someone was farming tilapia in an old brewery on West 7th, not sure if they still are.
December 23, 2024 at 10:25 pm #2306657I regularly get $20s from an ATM, when I go to my credit union or Wells Fargo
to get larger bills,
they have to log my account number, run the money through and the new bills get electronically dispensed. When I was a teller in the 90s, it was a 10 second process, but not anymore.December 23, 2024 at 10:45 am #2306462I know I am in the minority and that is ok, but I dont expect customer service at banks….especially if I am not a customer.
December 18, 2024 at 9:54 am #2305647Looking to take a Ice fishing trip Early January. Thinking about the glacial lakes in north east South Dakota or Otter Tail county MN area. Any suggestions? Never fished either areas. Willing to try anywhere not set on any given area. Walleye, Crappie, gills, perch doesn’t matter just looking to try a new area. Any suggestions?
Go to Otter Tail Lake, lots of walleye and bonus sturgeon
December 18, 2024 at 6:36 am #2305598Unless we get a warm snap, resorts will have roads plowed out to the reefs/flats and you will have small homes out on Mille Lacs. There will be very little risk to going through the ice in mid January, especially if you follow others.

I see lots of Canadians using frozen/salted minnows (probably due to regulation and convenience as opposed to effectiveness?), has anyone given that a shot around town and if so have a recommendation for places to get them?I know someone who knew the guys at JR tackle in BP and he had them freeze the dead minnows from there tanks and would take them up to Canada. Not sure if any shops would do that for you and also not sure if they salted them or just tossed them in a bag a froze them.
IGH sells frozen dead minnows, they say cat fisherman use them

December 3, 2024 at 6:32 am #2302699Had someone hit my boat trailer, bent it a little, broke the light. Hassis Paintworks in Stillwater did the repair and charged me less than their estimate and much less than the insurance check.
Nice work and highly recommend!
December 2, 2024 at 10:19 am #2302507In St Paul, but Estelle, Revival, Red Rabbit and Bullvino are all very good!
S Mpls, we have enjoyed Terzo, Tosca, Rosalia and Broaders recently, would go back to all in a heartbeat.

November 13, 2024 at 7:53 am #2298918Watch about two or three more, and you’ll be hooked. Like I said, I don’t know if they’ll ever find the Motherlode. But, it sure is kind of fun to watch all the equipment and the technology they use. And I don’t think anybody can ever dispute the fact that they’re finding some pretty weird shafts and underground stuff, don’t worry all my friends give me heck about liking this show too
Finding gold in the water was interesting. I had always thought something very important was buried there, but removed a LONG time ago. Now I am less in that camp and thinking something might still be buried to leech off those minerals.
