Those were unarmed RF-4’s out of Duluth. Their only means of protection was to fly low and fast. All this while they were taking pictures of ground targets.
At that time the 148th was a photo recon outfit.

We just put them my son’s boat. They’re awesome. Mark was fantastic to work with. Stepped us right through the measurement process and two weeks later they were delivered.

When I get the scams saying the Sheriff is on his way to arrest me I reply ” You better get a hold of him before he gets here so he can bring the SWAT team because I’ve got an arsenal in here..
I’ve never owned a firearm but they hang up right away!!

While I do agree for the most with what the DNR is trying to do to stop the spread I do not appreciate being singled out will legally driving down the road because I am towing a boat. When and if I do have to stop at one of these checkpoints I will comply but I will ask to speak with a CO and their supervisor.
Here’s the question I will ask them.
I am a pilot and I have several friends who fly float planes. One of the first things you do is pump out all of the water in the floats because no matter how good they are they all leak to a certain degree. Some have compartments for storage, for maybe transporting bait, etc We all seen float planes happily going from lake to lake doing various operations. Some of these planes are on the water from ice out to ice in. Many are beached on shore for practice and such. There is a great possibility that when they go from lake to lake there will be weeds stuck somewhere on the various cables and water rudders on the floats.
My question is going to be when/if they are going to take the same kind of enforcement actions on float planes as they are doing with other watercraft. By the way when a float plane is on the water it IS considered a watercraft.

I might have one maybe two laying around but I’ll have to check. I don’t think???? I’m going to need them. I work in St.Louis Park so we could maybe meet up if I do have them.

I just had my motor in for some warranty work at Rapid Sports. I didn’t buy my boat there but I brought it in on Monday afternoon and picked it up on Friday. They did a good job for me.

Wouldn’t be great if Lowrance would come up with a way to do this. My three pinpoints can do this right now so I know it can be done. I’m sure it’s probably because pinpoint still has the patent on this type of network. At one time I heard a rumor that lowrance was going to have a software update this month that would let us do just what we were talking about. I haven’t seen it yet. In the newest bass and walleye boats mag the electronics article said that they were looking for lowrance to use the as of yet ethernet connection on the back of the units for a propritary network to do this. Maybe they should just buy out pinpoints patent.

    Dan,
By sharing the transducer through the switch box I’m assuming you mean running only one head unit at a time correct?? Not running both head units at the same time while sharing the transducer signal.

Wade is correct about the pinpoints. However, my buddy was working the Duluth sports show and the talked to the Lowrance rep about this issue. He was told the there is a new software update due out in April that will allow sonar data to be shared. This sounds to good to be true so we’ll have to wait and see.

    Doc,
My son and I would like to go. We’ve got a 111c and have an area on a lake we’d like to map for ourselves. Would there be enough info at the Sunday seminar for that or would you recommend the mapping class instead.

I’ve had the Merten’s system on my Tourny Pro 175 since last year. It makes the F90 Yamaha feel like a 5 horse no matter what the trim position is. IMHO I wouldn’t run a big tiller without it. The best money I’ve spent in a long time. It’s a simple bullet proof system.

Unfortunately Lowrancenet does not let you share a transducer signal between two locators. Only pinpoint units will allow you to share transducers. I believe Motorguide/pinpoint own the patent for sharing transducer information between networked locators.

What I did was buy the type that has two buttons and then mount it to the bottom of the drivers seat so I can just drop my hand down and reach under the seat to trim up and down. I found that once you get used to this it’s much better then the foot switch.

Did Navionics get the bugs worked out with software?? I’m still waiting to order it.

    Thanks Dave
