LOOKING AT THIS MONSTER. IT IS HARD NOT TO BE A LITTLE skeptical.just a little.over many years of fishing i have seen a lot of giant pike and muskie.most on the end of a rod and reel. this fish is probally not out of the ordinary”for the waters he was fishing.we all have seen and have caught large walleyes bass etc..on muskie and large pike plugs.we were diving in a lake in mid-central wis.in the late 80’s. we encountered in one bay many pike and muskie.but what really caught our eye was four or five pairs of muskie and northern pike.swimming together in perfect harmony.right during the spawn.these fish were 45 inch and larger.we all have caught and heard of monsters of this calibar.but this fish appears to be a fish of a life time.if northern and muskie actually mix breed.it would certainly explain the fins.even so again this fish is monster.in any respect.see ya on the waves

my wife and i use 2lbfor ice fishing. what i have found.is that the line is very abrasion resistant.to the edges of the ice thick or thin.after the ice gets pounded by fisherman vehicles etc.the larger sunnies get very weiry of even the smallest jig or lightest line.in 30 inches of water or 30 ft.my wife likes to use the 2lb.with a light pulse rod. i prefer 4lbor 6lbfor large sunnies and walleye. we use a aqua wiew dt60 very good visibility.at 2 feet in 25 ft water.this line can not be seen.the 4 to 6lb.the larger lines are also invisable.after a good day on the ice i always check for abrasion.i have not used this line in open water yet.but my wife and i are sold on it for iceing.we use other cold weather lines that stand up well very well.but not invisable in 30 ft of water….im sold on this product for ice fishing just my thoughts. see ya on the waves….fish eat sleep

building your own rods trminal tackle what ever has great rewards most of all over whelming confidence.there are to many reels to mention.i would certainly start with matching weight of reel versus rod type.shim,flueg,diaw,abu,okum,etc…. my prefrence would of course reliable line capacity descent drag system. over emphasize good drag take a good look at shim flueg.these companies. well machined parts and are well recommended by many fisherman.your cost for a great reel or rod.depends of course your pocket.also these reels work very well in cold weather conditions.very smooth an reliable… fish eat sleep see ya on the waves……
