Hit the islands this weekend. Deep weed edges had some fish. Surface Temps in high 60s fish mostly in 15-20 ft.
I haven’t gotten info back yet on the big Walleye with tag in June yet ill share when I do.

I’ve not yet seen a Caribou on the lake. Very rare. That would be cool.
    What part of the lake?
    I’ve been looking!

Pasha is best bet because you will have weather days you cant get on Nipigon. On those days you can go on Pashas day trip lakes to get out of the wind. Best to have 6 to 8 fishing days because you will have days you cant get on the lake.
If you really want to not see another person try it in winter!

Jerk baits and flooks on jigs. Smelt imitators.

Time of year dictates location. I always do well in summer and fall off shore and spring neer shore and in river mouths. Most economical stay is Pasha best is on the lake in one of the large boats that will tow your boat but very expensive. You can always get fish on spoons but most of my large fish come on natural color minnow baits. (Smelt) Very good Walleye, Lake and Brook trout fishing also.

I was up over Memorial Weekend. Ban was lifted. Unfortunately because it rained every day we were there. Water is very low. The water in front of Poods Camper was only 3inces deep. Very hard to launch boats.Seemed to be rising but plan on low water.
Not to low to catch fish though! Good luck.

Also marked some huge schools of bait off deep rock points. Thought we would find some monsters. Wrong. Got a couple 30 inchers and some trout. Beautiful fish but season closed. All still swimming. Trout and Pike

Best way to get on Nipigon is from Pasha Lake Resort. Better Roads. Better Access!

Even some bonus Burbot. Good eats. We also got on some numbers. Many pike triples.

Find warm water and you’ll have fish. We got 9 Pike over 40 in 45min in a small creek mouth that had 59deg water. main lake was 41deg. Crazy!

Fishing on nip may, june & july My boat landed 22 pike over 40 inches. Biggest was 45 and caught by my 10 year old son. ALL fish over 40 released. Please let the big fish go. I am seeing way to many fish being killed. A replica is a better mount anyway.(if my 10 year old can do it so can you)This goes for lakers also! I’ve been Fishing the lake for 20 years now and have killed 0 trophy pike and only 1 laker. (the laker was 42” and I was only 19. I didnt think they got any bigger) It seems like their is an endless supply of fish in Canada. That’s what it was like in the states 120 years ago. Follow the slots and don’t kill trophies. But always keep an eater for shore lunch.
