I’m still waiting for the opportunity to shoot jumping silver carp with a shotgun.
There’s a couple videos of people doing this that have probs been taken down by now. I’m sure it’s super illegal but man that looks fun.
April 14, 2025 at 2:54 pm #2330113My only concern with bow fisherman is killing native species.
Leave the Buffalo, Suckers, and Dogfish alone.
Kill every carp you can find.This. Leave the Buffalo, dogs, gar, and suckers alone. Otherwise yeah have at it. All for it.
April 13, 2025 at 8:54 am #2329788Pretty good bite the last few days. Water is a couple degrees warmer than the last two weekends and it showed.
PSA that might get some hate here – quit fighting the snagged sturgeon for so long. If you want to catch them, then actually target them with heavy enough gear – they are sweet fish and a blast on real sturgeon equipment.
Idk how many we saw just yesterday alone but a lot of guys out there fight them forever. You know it’s not a walleye after a few seconds so just pull on the line and more often than not the jig will bend out. Watching guys fight these things for 20, 40, 60, 80+ minutes is not a good look and also tough on those fish. Yes, they are resilient but they’re not invincible. Ok carry on.
April 12, 2025 at 11:04 pm #2329759Just sitting down for the 3rd, have been on the water all day.
So we’ve been playing with 4 defensemen this game and have given up 10 shots through 2 periods resulting in 2 goals? What???
April 10, 2025 at 9:47 am #2329396What’s the over/under on how many Kaprizov or Ek goals it takes for Grouse to post something even remotely positive?
However many it takes to win a cup with BG out of the office.
April 10, 2025 at 7:02 am #2329335It’s a slower, colder, shorter season following one of the longest, warmest, best seasons. Reset the expectations, the sky is not falling.
April 9, 2025 at 9:48 pm #2329309Fleury is going to have one more game this weekend. No way they run Gus back to back nights
April 9, 2025 at 9:26 pm #2329304Not to be a Debbie Downer, but its San Jose boys…
Still alot of fun and should give the players alot of confidence!
Agreed. Its not over yet either.
April 9, 2025 at 7:50 pm #2329275Good time for Faber to start heating up. What a difference two top guys make.
I’m okay with the 4th line. Give it some time. They’ve had what 2 or 3 shifts?
April 8, 2025 at 7:42 am #2328853Getting ek and Kaprizov back does not guarantee we’ll be any better right away. They’ll likely need a couple games to back to form, especially post season form. Never know though, Kaprizov could come out on fire after sitting so long.
If both those guys come back for the Calgary game and that game alone decides who is in or out, think about the energy having them back is going to bring. Too bad it’s not at home. The X would be wild on Friday night in a do or die situation with two top players back.
April 6, 2025 at 4:35 pm #2328633Water is a littler dirtier than last weekend but still clear. 35-36 degrees. I drove over the forks in a few different places and the edges are getting pretty loose. With the warmer weather coming this week, I wouldn’t doubt if they bust loose late in the week or weekend. It will be close imo but I think you’ll be alright.
Fishing this weekend was comparable to last numbers wise for our group but more big fish like others have said. 29.25 and 28.5 were the big fish. A handful of 27s as well. Wind was brutal
Edit – the rivers in NW MN similar in size to the forks opened up since Friday if it means anything.
April 3, 2025 at 9:35 pm #2328223STL just blew a lead late in the third. Heading to OT. Really could use one point from them instead of two here.
April 2, 2025 at 11:59 am #2327805If you look at games played around the league, Gus is right on track and actually below some of the top goalies. I wouldn’t worry about his time in the net. I think it just feels weird to us because we’re not used to a true starter when comparing the last few seasons.
He’s played 52
Hellebuyck 58
Vasi 58
Otter 53
Bob 49
Igor 55
Sorokin 56Nothing to worry about here. He has stolen what like 9 games this year? Take half of those wins away and we’re out. Ride him, it’s all we got right now.
March 30, 2025 at 9:12 pm #2327142After the MN teams were out I’m all in on Denver! They are tough. The bigger and/or older schools so often beat the younger skill/talent based teams which is why I have a hard time ever picking the gophers and Boston schools.
Western Mich would be cool to see all the way though too.
Denver v WM is going to be a game
March 29, 2025 at 8:02 pm #2327017Fished a few hours this afternoon. Water temp 34 and just tickled 35 by the time I left. Caught one fish on a moxi and the rest on ringworms. Sloooooooow was the only way I got bit – essentially hovering.
March 27, 2025 at 8:46 pm #2326635Given what they call slashes these days around the hands, they certainly could have called brodin there.
Seems like they evened it out after the weak slash they called on us earlier in the game.

Anyone watching the “OviCast” ha it’s full time iso cam on ovechkin, even when he’s on the benchNo I’m just irritated the gophers game is delayed AND that I can’t just hit previous channel on my remote to flip over I have to change apps. Otherwise I’m fine. Everything is fine. Oh and Joe you kinda paraphrased the pod a bit to make it sound more glorious than what I heard at least for our golden child anyway.
I was thinking that too. But since the gophers are delayed, once they drop the puck you should be able to stay in the espn app/espn+ and just go back and forth. I hope at least.

Trade multiple assets including what is likely by end of season to be a 30 goal and 60 point guy in Rossi for an established player who has never been that good in any season?Huh? Barzal has a couple of 80 point seasons playing for a stagnant roster in New York. When healthy (I agree that’s been an issue for him and he would need to be medically cleared) he’s one of the better skating & setup center’s in the league, something Kirill would thrive playing with…
After this season, “when healthy” doesn’t sit well with me.
Heck we should be on the phone with Phil kessel at this rate.
March 24, 2025 at 8:19 pm #2326122Way too crazy with the passes again tonight. Several good looks now and one two or three passes later it’s out of the zone.
Scary puck to rantanens face. Seemed fine though and no blood on the ice so shouldn’t be a problem.
March 24, 2025 at 10:06 am #2325987And we play Calgary one of our last games of the season. That game could be huge.
March 23, 2025 at 8:30 pm #2325905Gim did you go to Denver or know zeev or something? You have been on the zeev and Denver bandwagon for a few years now. It’s one of your favorite topics.
For the record, I think they have a shot again this year too. Anyone but the Boston teams please.
March 19, 2025 at 9:16 pm #2325053Rossi out for now. Can’t make it up. Hopefully he comes back tonight yet but just unbelievable.
Brazeau was out there for part of the power play.
March 19, 2025 at 7:28 pm #2325025Can’t wait for the inevitable 930 puck drop tonight. And it’s at home.
