Agree. It’s also arguably the biggest US (major) sport that has legit competitors globally. The rest of our major sports are dominated by the US. I’m talking football, baseball, basketball, and hockey here.

Just got out of the Jets Avs game. Great game and great atmosphere. Highly recommend going to one if you’re ever in Winnipeg. It’s a quick up and back from my house so hope to get back for a playoff game or two sometime.

Don’t overthink it. It’s still walleye fishing. Longer is better for the head shakes if you do get a big one on. Just go with your normal medium action walleye rods and you’ll be fine.

That being said a Loomis ice rod for $100 is too good to pass up.

Team Crybay—err Canada has major attitude issues. There’s a primadonna complex where the Canadians expect an automatic pass to the finals and they come unhinged when the don’t get it.

Also has Junior hockey in Canada turned into some kind of Slapshot comedy movie situation where there are no rules and these kids are getting used to getting away with ridiculous penalties? Absolutely silly stupid play on the Canadians part. Multiple kneeing penalties? Multiple game misconducts in one tournament?

The rest of the world is actually catching up and being competitive for a change.

I fear Rossi is going to be treated similar to how Fiala was. He deserves a spot long term with us but I don’t know if the brass feels the same. The dude is good and shows up when we need him to.

Chisholm has been a great add and has played well recently I’ve thought. He certainly doesn’t get talked about. We’ll see how he does with more minutes over this stretch though.

Numbers have been great this year! I am looking forward to hearing how this season compares to the last several. After all the flooding concerns, they sure seemed to have a good hatch.

Got out again today. Only had one shot at one bird and got him.

I think we saw 4 roosters (3 wayyy out there) all day and about 40 hens. The hens played nicely and allowed for fun dog work.

All public land in western/wc.

Still finding them mostly in willows although we did finally find a few in cattails today. Oh and if you’re not within basically a shot of a food source, don’t bother.

That will work. I shoot a mod with 6s basically all season.

Late season birds will occasionally get a full choke and 5s or 4s, especially if they’re getting up a ways out.

Don’t overthink it – that gun will get the job done! Those a5s were built for what you’re asking about and is all people had back in the day.

There’s just no way we can stay this high in the standings all year with these special teams. It’s laughable now.

Playoff teams are going to beat the crap out of us just like the last few years if we can’t score on the pp. Although our pp did look better tonight, it was against a worse than mediocre pk team… and we still didn’t do anything.

Winnipeg has gotta be pumped to be playing us in Winnipeg on a back to back tomorrow.

I’ve never spent any time in SD but will comment on the 5 or day 10 limit thing. Although I think it’s dumb, I do wish MN would adopt something like it. Our non resident rules and prices are way too open and cheap for both fishing and hunting compared to neighboring states and provinces.

I think the 10am thing is really to support local economies. Think how much those cafes make in October and November – those two months likely keep the lights on for the rest of the year.

What ever happened to Russo being done covering the wild?? That was short lived.

The garmin alpha is insane. I bought the gen 3 for this season for my setter – it’s her second season. It has too many features really but the point alerts and gps tracking features are awesome.

I highly recommend if you’ve considered one.

Started walking at 9am this morning in a combination of public and private in WC MN. Got our 6 birds in two spots. We left plenty of smart roosters too which was nice to see. We did not see many hens until the end of spot two when a huge group of them popcorned at the end of the cattails. Luckily there was one rooster with all those hens – it was pretty chaotic for a minute or two.

On the drive there this morning we saw a bunch of single roosters out and about feeding so were pretty confident going into the day.

Even in the snow and freezing rain the birds were moving. Had great dog work and shot pretty well too. Great morning.
