If memory serves me right, I recall a few years ago the mic cut out in a Canadian arena when the us anthem was being sung. The Canadian fans finished it, then proceeded to sing their own immediately after (probs in French).

The players are fired up, it’s gonna be good. Idk if it will match Saturday but it’s gonna start fast!

With all the international play coming up in the coming years, this tournament will fizzle out I’m afraid. Maybe not quantity, but quality – think someone said ‘watered down’ earlier. Totally agree.

I agree, but every team has multiple people willing to fight and know it’s coming after. These teams have so few fighters that I think the players know they can get away with it.

People like to hate on Sask. I’m sure the winters suck but their summers and falls are pretty awesome. No people and the hunting and fishing opportunities are endless. I love the rolling plains though which most people do not.

It’s been a good tournament so far with lots of energy, more than I expected. Time will tell if it sticks. As mentioned, there’s gonna be a lot of country vs country play coming up with the world cups and Olympics so will this format just become “another”? Will the players take it seriously every year? What does it get them other than bragging rights right now? Make em play for something like the MLB used to be home field advantage or something – not sure what.

I’ll say it again, it needs Russia and the rest of the Europeans.

Stands are not as full tonight. Should have played this game in Boston. Next year they can do it in Sweden and Finland to even it out… although views would tank.

I wish Russia was involved too. I think they could do a Europe, Canada, US, Russia tourney if they wanted to keep it to 4 teams. This might actually tip the tables towards the Europeans if Sweden and Finland are together (not sure any other countries would have players lol). They will never do this and just expand it to 5 teams when Russia is back in play.

SJ just traded granlund and Ceci for a first and third this year. They are going to be really really good in like 4-5 years if they play their cards right and stay healthy.

Also like the move for granlund heading to a playoff team with deep run potential.. just hate that it’s the stars.
