I often wondered if during the summer one could pull themselves through the water with an electric auger…

I mean I would think so, make one big ol mess but if you could get it low enough it could work. At least in my head it would. Now I gotta try it out

Hello I’m new to Forum, up here in Northern Alberta Canada, was Very Cold yesterday, when Rigged out my Ice Shelter 3 of my 4 Side Windows Shattered
(plastipane), anybody have this Issue, I don’t see any of these Shelters on the Ice, thinking because of Cost of unit, they are great unit and I love it, just curious if this has happened to anyone.

    Thanks Randy

Hey feller, new guy as well. But as far as the x400. I have the same shack with no window issues yet, I live in Alaska and I took it out while it was negatives and didn’t have any window issues.
The issues I have had however are roof hub related. No matter how I would set it up 2 of the 4 roof poles would always be bending down and the rood would randomly collapse. My temp fox was to unstrap the ples so they could bow outwards and hopefully in the correct up position, but they stayed to the side. Ended up replacing it with a new x400 for about 80 bucks cheaper because on sale 🤘. Still having the same issue just not as severe of a bow.

I’ll chime in with the bird ice series. Since everyone is on the vex train. I have the ice 35 and have used it for 8 years now going out pretty consistently every season and I ablostulety love that unit. Especially for what $300 new? Sure it may not be as “clear” as other units, but it gets the job done. The dual deucer is a real nice plus along with the adjustable zoom for the whole water column. I am thinking of upgrading to the ice 55 and using the 35 for friends and kids.

I have the ICE 55 as my second unit when others come along and I like the fact that there is no interference with this one. Crazy how the prices have gone up on these older units over the years, but I suppose this is just an effect of inflation.

Anyway, yes, these are little talked about, but do a great job.

I know right ? Everyone overlooks them as a solid unit yet they haven’t really changed in what 10 or more years? Don’t need to fix it if it ain’t broken right ? My original battery still holds a charge like a champ, after 5 or 6 hours of fishing my battery still is only down to maybe 75% from a full charge. Is the color pallett really that much of a difference in your eyes ?

I was doing a bit of looking myself and the frabill one was the only decently priced one ($70) that would accommodate longer rods (36″+) that I found local. The other cases stop at about 35″. I’m pondering the idea of buying it but they’re just bulky for being in the sled.
