My understanding is that the motorguide doesnt have a screen, because all the info will be on your Lowrance HDS Gen 2 unit. Also the anchor lock is suppose to be alot better then the terrova.

GPS is a must on the river. I can do without everything else on a depth finder except GPS. Troll a wingdam and the next time you’re out and you can’t see the wingdam you can still troll them. Or if you casting them you don’t have to look for them. I also put waypoints above wingdams to position the boat for casting them. GPS is absolute must for fishing lakes in Northern MN and lakes like the Petenwell Flowage. I have had SI for only a year, so still learning, but see alot of interesting stuff on the wingdams. But can’t say it has put more fish in the boat yet.

I just installed Leafsout gutter guard to one side of my house last spring, to see how I like them. So far they have worked great. I will probably add them to the rest of the house next summer. They are very easy to install. You can find them at Amazon.

Looks like an HD chip will work in an Elite 7 according to Lowrance website. I dont know if it will give you shade relief or not, but I still would buy the Pro.

I actually will be putting in at the Belvidere launch and will be picking my brother up who is coming from Rochester at that launch.

Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa release Walleyes from the Genoa Fish Hatchery that come from the Mississippi. I assume they are released into northern MN Lakes. White Earth and Red Lake Indians also purchase from Genoa.

I just measured my Alumacraft navigator 175 and it measure 20’6″ with the swing tongue open. I have a shorelander trailer. I think with a trailer that the swing tongue opens below the boat it would cut off more then another 6″.

Do you have a part number for the cleats and do they cover the old holes completely?

Why are you going to switch from a .243 to a 22-250? 243 is flatter shooting and has more nock down power and can be used for deer.

We had a fuel filter issue this summer on a yamaha 50hp efi. It would bog down and if you pumped the primer bulb the motor would run normally. On the 50 there were two filters on the motor. The canister one and also an inline filter, we replaced both. Which solved the problem.

Just make sure you get a name brand furnace with variable speed fan. Leave the fan running at about 30% and keeps the entire house pretty close to the same temp. No more cold rooms in the winter and hot rooms during the summer.

Max out your Roth IRA first which is $5000 dollars a year. Then start contributing to a 529 account. 529 can only be used for college expenses. Roths can be used for retirement and college, and you have unlimited choices to invest in.

No we were trolling out in front of Highbanks. We did see a few boats out in front of cut foot though.

If you getting a Trailblazer look for the 3.75 or 4.10 gears. You wont have any problems pulling you boat. I pulled the same boat with my trailblazer with no problems. I think some of the trailblazer are rated closer to 6000 pound. Im currently pulling my boat with a GMC Acadia which has less towing capacity at 5000 pound. I dont even now its back there even when stopping.

I think people in MN are pissed off about all the dumb rules and how often you a reminded of the rules. I have been check 5 out of 6 times I have put in at Lake Pepin and hear the same thing. I have yet to see them in WI. Dumb rules: No boat plug, new water in vehicle for leeches and minnows, no water in coolers when arriving at landing just some of the rules.

So what springs are you using and where is the best place to get them. I plan on getting 2 more boards. Also you can get the offshore boards for $22 or less online.

Did you just hook up a hose and run it that way or did you take it out? Most of the time they spray the carbs when they winterize it and might take a little bit of time for that to work itself out. Is it fresh gas you are using. If you dont have a fuel water separator filter that is the first thing I would add. If it still runs rough spray the intake with carb cleaner.

First thing is how do you know this. I noticed on mine that the gas gauge always reads less when on the trailer then in the water. When I bought the boat, dealer told me that they put in 10 gallons of gas. Gas gauge still read empty on the trailer. Never started reading until I put another 10 gallons in.

    What Tom Said.
When you change the oil, fill it to middle of the dip stick between full and low. I had the problem with my 50hp after I did this never had a problem. Have yet to see it on my 115.

I have heard to stay away from the 07 acadia and outlooks. Lots of problems. Also I think they changed the awd system in 08. I have 2011 and my brother has a 07 and has not had any problems. His also gets better mileage but mine only has 10k on it. Very happy with both of them.

Im all for user fees. But where did my boat registration fee go. Where did my gas tax from the gas I put in my boat go. Today the charge $3 to launch my boat and tomorrow they think they can charge $10.

WI brings in more then 1.2 Million dollars in boat registration fees. 635,000 boat registered in WI

I agree BZZSAW. But we all know that all money will not be spent on repairs and maintenance. I would like to know who paid for the launches to be put in. I highly doubt the City of La Crosse.

In that case I think a pellet stove would work perfect. I would probably get one that can burn corn also.
