Few years ago wife ordered 8.5’x 11′ rug. She pulls up the delivery confirmation and it says “Item placed in mailbox”. Well since I couldn’t find the rug in our mailbox, I called the company that shipped it and asked them how somebody was able to fit a rug that size in a standard size mailbox, dead silence, and I am talking 5 mins of silence. While still waiting for them to come back and talk to me, wife receives a text message that her account was refunded the entire amount. I still want to know how they got the rug in the mailbox and somehow I wasn’t able to see it.

Tip of the cap to you Mahto, way to go. Sadly that is just one individual out of thousands that do the same.
Earlier this year, some yahoo tried to pick off a turkey with a sling shot in my neighbors front yard, and I just happened to be out with the dog. Without thinking I yelled WTF do you think you’re doing? I think he soiled his undergarments, he shoved the sling shot in a pocket and took off running. It was all caught on my security system.
Contacted TIP line, and a CO did contact me within 10 mins and said he would drive around and see if he could locate the miscreant. Sent the CO security footage, never heard back.
March 23, 2023 at 2:29 pm #2190774Wife & I got in before the plague hit, damn lucky. Bought a 2020 Forest River product. Went to the RV show in 2022 where the queens play. Found the exact same model from a local dealer there, it was priced 27K more than what we paid, for the same camper, I was dumbfounded.
March 16, 2023 at 1:43 pm #2189100Nice job BC! My neighbor brought me a bottle of Crown Royal Salted Caramel for clearing theirs only 3 times, JACKPOT!!! Close friend had his second heart attack in October, quadruple bypass February 8th, so been clearing his driveway as well as mine all winter. I have now officially logged more time behind the snow blower than the lawn mower all last summer. Doesn’t seem right to me at all.
March 3, 2023 at 10:11 am #2185860I got me one of those pop up sheds from Hobo Freight, keep grill & smoker in that. Unzip the door and oh man the delicious smell.

Good lord, how have we been able to make it so far in life without them?
And about the $17 Billion “surplus”? How about returning it to the PEOPLE that you took it from?

December 19, 2022 at 10:45 am #2167776Love it, good work Paul!
Thank you BigWerm. Ya know, it wasn’t any “work” at all.
December 19, 2022 at 10:24 am #2167766That was super. I LOVE that kind of story. I bet they WERE just excited to go and probably talking the significant other’s ears off
Frank has quite the stamina for talking! I was pre warned by Bill’s wife of his ability to “chat”.

December 14, 2022 at 2:21 pm #2166592I have that one and it works well and is very quiet but if it gets wet the touchscreen goes crazy and you can’t control it until it dries out. I got it this summer so I haven’t tried it in winter. In summer though I’d recommend keeping it under console or somehow shielded from splashes and rain.
Thank you for the heads up Reef, will keep that in mind.
December 14, 2022 at 9:59 am #2166412Just got this one, haven’t tried it yet. Rechargeable.

November 16, 2022 at 2:57 pm #2159746Spatchcock is the only way I do poultry now so that is what I’d suggest.
2nd the Spatchcock method. I don’t know how they stay so juicy!
November 16, 2022 at 7:28 am #2159612Spam figgy pudding and a hamms to wash it down with, talk about a colon cleansing!
Iowaboy, I am really doubting the combination you mentioned would stay long enough to perform the above mentioned “cleansing”. Thinking it would be more of a boomerang reaction.

November 3, 2022 at 8:38 am #2156766Can you explain the splash more? It wasn’t a beaver smacking its tail was it? I’ve had that scare the crap out of me many times lol
Gentlemen, I have as well encountered beavers and tail slapping, this was nowhere near that sound. Best way I can describe it, grab a boulder a tad bigger than a 16lb bowling ball, stand on a 15′ ladder and drop it into the lake, that’s how loud the sound was. As for the “stream” of water, it went up about 5 feet, and like I said, it just vanished, it didn’t come back down.
One story the owner told me, him and his wife came down to the twin cities to take care of some things, when they returned, they unlocked the bar and while cleaning discovered that all the toilet seats had been turned 1/4 turn, on every toilet, even in the locked rental cabins. Could somebody be playing a joke? Possible, but they had the keys with them while in the cities.
I have also heard my rods getting moved across the outside of the camper several times, but when I go out there, there all standing straight up.
This last summer, Ernie & his wife were up there, had windows open, said he got woken up about 2:00 a.m. with a rancid smell, he then heard some strange, what he called, high pitched sound, and then heard fist sized rocks bouncing around his camper.
When I was closing the camper in mid September, it was Friday night about 10:45, I hear what sounded like people yelling at each other, then it turned into screams and whooping, very short bursts. Sounded like it started down by the bar and I thought just some drunk people, but the the noise started moving through where the campers are, and I am talking fast, faster than people could run from one spot to the next. Then I hear something on the outside of my camper, then the other side, then I hear the rods moving across the outside of the camper, then I hear a “slam” from the bathroom. Have a small wastebasket with the spring loaded top, press the tab and it pops open. I had that basket sitting in the shower stall, lid open, I get up and start looking around, go into the bathroom and that GD lid is CLOSED! HTF did that happen?
Saturday I asked everybody that was up there if they heard all that screaming last night, only one person said they “thought” they heard something, and the folks I asked were all up and awake at the time.
November 1, 2022 at 9:18 am #2156257I was a semi believer up until last summer when the, what I call, the “incident” happened on the lake. Have had a camper at a seasonal site that’s in the Chequamegon National Forest, and the owners have told some very interesting stories of some strange “occurrences” on the property.
Was out with the neighbor in the camper across from us doing some fishing, late July, Friday afternoon, dead calm, and hot. We were fishing the NW area of the lake, a little breeze from the SW comes up for about 20 seconds, then stops, then it comes from the E, again, for about 20 seconds, then stops, then comes from the NW, stops, then comes from the S. I’m asking the neighbor (ex military) if he has ever seen the wind do this, his response, NO. Same here, I have been on the water countless hours/days, and have never seen that. I also made the comment, why on a beautiful Friday afternoon we were the only boat out there, which made it kind of freakishly quiet. I suggested we move to the NE corner of the lake, which we did. Had the boat parallel to the shore, about 250 yards out, I was casting and facing away from shore, Ernie facing and casting towards shore. I suddenly hear wind whipping through the trees, and I thought, thank god, here comes a breeze. Tell Ernie, well here comes a breeze, he says “turn around”. I turn, we can hear the wind, but there isn’t a leaf on a tree moving, and then, about 5 feet from shore it sounded like somebody threw a boulder in the lake, you heard it hit, saw the stream of water come up, and then the “trail” disappeared, it didn’t come back down, plus, both of us were looking directly from where this happened, and neither of us saw anything “get thrown” from the shore. I asked him, “What the hell was that?”, he responds, I have no idea. Both of us were speechless, and were just watching all this take place. We were about 30 yards from a reed bed that was about 75 yards long, and about 10 yards deep, all of a sudden, about 1/4 of the reeds bent over to the right, and touched the water, then stood back up, I asked Ernie, did you just see that? He responded “The reeds?” I just said “Yup”, and he says, “I sure did”.
Just before the wind sound started up, it was very strange that all sounds of nature ceased, no birds, no bugs, even the water bugs that skip all over the surface were gone.
We brought the boat up to where the “boulder” hit the water, it was about 2 feet deep, and there were no “fresh” rocks there, and why did the stream of water just disappear?
We decided to leave and go back in, and I just kept asking him, “What the hell was that? What did we just see?” He says, “I have no idea”.
We get back in, tell the resort owners, they just smile, and say “You had a visit from the spirit”.
I have had several other “things” happen that have no logical explanation as well, and yes, this is a true story, and I have a witness.
July 7, 2022 at 10:02 am #2133793So If I am pulling my covered boat from storage to my home, or home to a shop. I am not using motor vehicle or boat for taking or transporting game, therefore I can refuse search? Would the CO have to witness me on the water attempting to taking game (fish). If boat is covered, does this negate “Open boat”? I guess this is where attorneys would get involved.
July 7, 2022 at 9:22 am #2133784What if the dog was looking for AIS, and they find you with an over limit of fish? Illegal search?
July 1, 2022 at 9:17 am #2132974Thank you Grant, another bonus of putting on a fresh coat of sealer, when old man winter comes in, and you get those sunny days, the fresh black helps with snow/ice melt.
I do think a second coat needs to be put down, but looks like the forecast is calling for periods of rain in the coming week, so holding off on that.
Stout93, I agree, this winter the blower & shovel will now be gliding over the asphalt, instead of me getting up a good “push” going only for the shovel handle to stab me in the belly when the shovel gets stopped.
