What’s the torque spec on that mud mixer? I couldn’t find it online… It looks like it might just turn a 10″ auger.

Don’t know,it said it will mix 15 5 gal. Buckets of mud on a 5 amp hour battery. That’s a lot of mud. Used it all last winter with a K- Drill and never ran out of juice on 1 9 amp. Battery.

I went a little different route. Got the Milwaukee Fuel mud mixer. It’s got a heavy duty motor and adjustable side handle, no Clam Plate needed. With a 9.0 battery and 6 inch Lite Flite it weighs 12.7 pounds.

It was colder inside this shack on Upper Red than outside. Won’t name the resort.

Put it on simulation mode. Great way to learn how to use it

Love these debates on the plate. I use the Clam plate and Milwaukee fuel 2804. Have used it with Mora, Lazer, K-Drill and now the Lite Flight. I’m 70 with bad shoulders and wouldn’t be fishing without the plate. It added stability and keeps the drill out of the slop. I’ve seen what these high torque drills can do to your wrist. The extra 5 pounds is a easy trade off for the safety and ease of drilling.

I was just at Cabelas Woodbury and they had them, $699.00 Picked one up at Joes Sporting a week ago. They had them marked $599.00 so I scooped one up real quick. The next day they had them on sale for $699.00 same as everyone else. Either they had them priced wrong or I got a super deal. Also picked up a 6 inch Lite Flite auger got $149.00

Depends on how you drill, ice conditions, sharpness of blades. Even the battery size makes a difference. With he same auger on both of those setups they should be pretty good. I run the Milwaukee fuel 1200 with 9 amp batteries. Just got the Lite Flite, been using the Mora. Im a hole hopper and drill a lot of holes. Never ran out of juice. Can’t comment on the 8 inch I use a 6 for panfish and 7 for Walleyes. The 40 volt is heavier, either will do a good job.

It’s the Clam Plate/K-Drill adapter. You should be able to find it just about anywhere that sells K-Drills or Clam Plates. As mrpike said about $15.00.

I think this is going to be a great setup.

I really like the Clam Plate, I’m 70 with a pacemaker so it’s kind of a no brained for me. As for the 5 pounds, the plate is worth it’s weight.

I’m not discounting Bounce. Possibly I was using generics?

But back with one of my campers I had mousy poop on the dryer sheets.
Stay away from glue boards in cold weather. Glue doesn’t hold them very well below 50 degrees.

Never had good luck with mothballs either.

The cheap black snap traps have worked for me.
The tin cat mouse trap is good too for multiple catches.

Or a cat at last resort.
I didn’t have very good luck with Moth Balls either. To hard to get their little legs apart.

I’m just wondering how someone operates two trolling motors at the same time. coffee

Very easy, I run my bow mount with the remote and Vantage from the rear on my 1875 Pro Guide. No need for drift sock. Boat goes where ever I want. Very easy to make a controlled drift. As far as the rebates it’s like buying a lottery ticket.

Decided to put tank outside. Better to be safe. Thanks for all the help.

I want to leave the heater in the tub mounted where I have it in the picture. It would be nice to just open the valve and turn on the heater. I have the 10 ft. hose. Think I’ll just move the tank outside. Don’t want to blow up the wife and myself, at least not myself.

For bobbers I just use a match stick in the bottom of a weighted bobber. Never felt the need to use a slip float.

Great idea, been looking for something that would work better.

Finished, the tow bar and rod box turned out better than I had hoped. I have 7 ft. Between the atv and Otter Lodge.

As Merican Eagle stated there is a 3 second delay in the Auto Range. When hole hopping it gets kind of irritating. In manual mode it works fine.

First before this turns into a Vex-
/Marcum debate, all the new locators are quality units. With that said I love my FLX 28. I’ve had it for 2 or 3 years, got it the first year they came out. After finally learning how to adjust the different color palettes and power modes I’m very pleased with what I’m able to interpret with it. It’s very quiet and the screen is great in direct sunlight. The Auto mode is nice if your sitting still, but not for hole hopping. Love the Weed mode and Low Power. The Proveiw has a lot of power, almost to much. If you learn how to use the gain it works great.

Yes that’s Reflectix. I had a good sized piece laying around and decided to use it instead of carpet. It works great. It insulates the floor of the tub, dampens the noise, helps to keep things from moving around and reflects light from the overhead lights so I can see in the tub.

I extended the Otter tow bar 30 inches. This should help keep the snow out of my lodge. I also figured out how to use the Digger auger rack with a Kdrill.

Added a few more mods to the Otter Lodge and Otter Rod Box.
Mounted the Buddy Heater on the back wall of the tub. Put the propane tank in tub ( I put it outside when running the heater). Put inserts in the Otter Rod Box and made rope hinges so I can open it when it’s on the Monster Box. Also built a battery box to run the LED lights.

I basically just cut the plastic inserts down till the auger shaft fit. Then I used a file to shape them to the auger shaft. I still have to line up the flighting on the cutting end to get it to fit. I have a few more ideas I’m working on.

Male Spade connectors. You can get the male and female at Fleet Farm or anyplace that sells electrical connectors.

An old bull and a young bull were standing on top of a hill. The old bull said to the young bull see all those cows down there, someday they will all be yours. The young bull got all excited and said lets run down and get one. The old bull looked at him and said lets walk down and get them all.

Top speed isn’t everything. Sounds like you have a great setup.

Any 18 volt drill with 700 inch pounds will work. If I were planning to use a 8 inch auger I would really think 1200 Millwakee fuel or something close. It all depends on the thickness of the ice and how many holes you plan on drilling in a day.

Not much room in the Cabin for chairs. You could try a couple plastic storage bins and bolt some stadium seats to the tops. Put all your gear in the bins.

I tow a 1875 Lund Pro Guide with a 90 Merc. 4 stroke. I have a 2014 all wheel drive V6,8speed tranny. It pulls it fine, don’t know it’s back there. I get an honest 16 to 19 pulling the boat. Plenty of power to pass. Usually in 6th or 7th gear.
When not towing I can easily get 24 to 27 mpg. As far as reliability, in 4 years only changed oil and tires. The one thing I don’t like are the side mirrors. Wish they were bigger and extended. I did put convex mirrors on them and that helped a lot.

There’s a lot of talk about the K-Drill on this thread but the OP said

    <div class=”d4p-bbt-quote-title”>cheers wrote:</div>
I have not kept up with the electric auger evolution thinking it would not work for me up north due to ice thickness .

I have no issues with the K-drill other than with thick ice. It clears holes very poorly and bogs down the drill. I would not recommend a K-drill for thick ice… less than 2′ great, but anymore than that no thanks. A Strikemaster auger IMO is the best bit for thick ice.

Put a Strikemaster bit on a drill or use the 40V Ion. Either one will work great for thick ice!

This is true, guess I forgot the question. I would agree with 2 plus feet of ice go gas or the Strikemaster 40 volt.
