I have a treager, it works great for smoking and not the price of the Memphis grill. I would say that the memphis is a better grill as it gets hotter for grilling steaks and searing but the treager does fine too. I did two 8lb pork butts on sat. on smoke the temp was 160. Easy to clean, parts are easy to get if the auger motor goes out or the heat rod. I have had mine for 5 years and still love it, have a few friends that have them and they are more than happy with it, worth every penny.
May 7, 2016 at 9:01 am #1617938Fished west of the metro yesterday, boat control was tough with the strong winds but managed to get a couple limits of crappies. Water temps were 68 in the am and down to 62 in the afternoon, fish were still out in 12-15 feet on the weed line. Females looked ready to pop but had not moved up yet, didn’t get a single bite in shallow.

May 16, 2014 at 1:45 pm #1410821The numbers for eye’s don’t look good, was hoping to maybe get into some pike. Was hoping to put in at William Obrien but with the water so high I don’t care to deal with the river and the trees that must be floating down and I am trying to avoid White Bear and the crowd.
May 16, 2014 at 12:14 pm #1410805FIshed it on opener after no success on Tonka. It took awhile to find the crappies but when we did the bite was fast enough to keep two boats fishing 30 ft apart busy. The gillnet numbers for this lake are through the roof, the only problem is that launch isn’t the best and is shallow. I only wish that I had my four year old with me, he would have had a blast. We managed to take two limits home in from our boat and it only took 30 minutes of sorting through dozens of fish to find two limits. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
May 14, 2014 at 1:11 pm #1410370I have Treager and a Primo, both are fabulous but have pro’s and con’s. The treager is the easiest for smoking meat, cooking turkey, chicken legs, baking pizzas, but it doens’t get hot enough for me to cook a steak the way that I like them. The primo is great for cooking chicken breasts, steaks are second to none with the temp being able to get above 600 and pork chops always come out juicy.
If you are going to buy a treager make sure that you get one that has the thermometer controller on it (I would suggest the Texas Gril it is nice to have all the room). I have had mine for three years, make sure you register it so that when a part goes out you can get it replaced. I had to have my heat rod replaced, I called Traeger and they sent out a new one right away and I had it in a week. I also thought that my controller went out and they sent me a new one out without any questions when I found out later that a fuse blew they didn’t ask me to send the said controller back so now I have a back up. It is great to be able to put a boston butt on the grill early in the morning, load up the hopper and forget aobut it for 6 hours and have pulled pork that afternoon.
The temp control of the treager is easier then the primo but the primo will put out a heavier smoke flavor if you can master the temp. Either way you can’t go wrong.
February 28, 2014 at 8:37 pm #1392763When I worked in restaurants we use to use good old Coca Cola to clean the grout. Poor it on the grout and let it sit for a few minutes, then get a hot bucket of water and mop it up, follow it by mopping up with Tide or another powder detergent. Worked like a charm.
February 25, 2014 at 5:24 pm #1391643Thanks everyone for all the help now i can get quotes knowing that fellow IDOers are good references.
February 23, 2014 at 10:42 am #1390917I had that boat and I rigged it with a 140 suzuki, the 90 won’t be enough for the boat. With two guys in it and gear with the 140 I could get top speed of 42mph so I would think that the 90 would be a disappointment. When I bought the boat John Theilen heavily suggested going to full potential of the boat and at that time the 140 was max. I would suggest a 115 at the minimum but with the low cost upgrading I would max it out, helps a lot with resale down the road if you are ever going to want to sell.
February 3, 2014 at 8:55 pm #1385721Chad, PM me I can give you the name of the salesman and dealer that I ordered my Crossover 1875 from three weeks ago and like I mentioned before in PM they were a lot less then Rapid, Nelson and the dealership in Alexandria. They have good financing options too. I had a co-worker buy a 1675 from the boat show from rapid just a base model nothing added, just boat motor trailer and called the sales guy that I used and he was 1500 less that Rapid but for them saving 1500 wasn’t worth 4 hour drive.
February 2, 2014 at 1:58 pm #1385242I just ordered a crossover 1875 and was looking at the trophy as we’ll. the finish on the lund seemed a little nicer, the crossover only has one livewell but has tons of storage. The snap in carpet is a great option, the ladder is nice for skiers and the ski package is great. The crossover resale will be better than the trophy also, I went to a neighboring state and saved 30% compared to five dealers throughout MN PM me if you have ?”s
April 30, 2012 at 4:59 pm #1063955That is where I am confused, the unit only comes with one transducer and it is 150.00 for the y cable and the second tansducer. Wondering if anyone is running these with just one transducer.
September 8, 2011 at 12:41 pm #993572I haven’t made it as far west as the 169 bridge, I am hoping to fish from there west. Is it a typical night bite or can you coax them in to biting during the early evening?
April 3, 2007 at 3:31 am #556153Do you know when Everts is going to get them in, I called the company today and they said they just got bought by Garmin last week and doen’t have any dealers in the midwest yet.
April 3, 2007 at 3:18 am #556149Thanks alot for the info, was looking at a tr1 ot trollmaster, sounds like the tr1 is the way to go.
July 17, 2006 at 3:57 pm #461055Zeus is at his new home. Seemed happy to join his new family. I hope you enjoy the time that you spend with him in the field, blind and at home. Thanks Matt03z, I know that you will be happy with him. After watching you son interact with him at the lake yesterday I was able to go home with some peace and I know that he will be you and your sons best friend.
July 13, 2006 at 5:30 pm #460392I also run a Navigator 175sc, I put a suzuki 140 4stroke on it and it moves and is super quiet. I bought from Dans southside, good pricing service is questionable. They rigged it with the wrong pitch prop and want to take it off and put the right one on and still charge me for the new and only give me a deal if the one that I have now is like new. They can be tough to get your boat in to get worked on too, but the sales guys were easy to work with.
It is a great boat for a lot less than what you would pay for a Lund or even a crestliner. I was well under the price of a Lund that was a similar style but was able to go to a 140 horse, galvinized trailer, battery charge and stainless prop for less than either of thier competitors.
The ride is super smooth, don’t get wet unless it is rough, and it is nice and wide.July 12, 2006 at 4:52 pm #460044They do get exercise and he is a good dog. He was meant to be a house dog for my wife when I went out of town hunting but we still sent him to Dokkens for training since it is less time consuming then to do it all yourself. I know that a refresher would help but the bill wouldn’t. I try to work with him but I don’t get tons of alone time since both dogs need to be exercised at night and my daughter needs attention too. Kids, I tell ya what!
July 12, 2006 at 4:48 pm #460042I am in the Woodside Development on Emerson North, Right where they are putting in the new road. 610 emerson, swing by if you are in the area or you see me outside. I am not familiar with Aspen Ln. we moved there two months ago. I don’t want o neuter the yellow because he is so mellow I am afraid that he will lose some of his drive when he is in the field or on the pond.
March 24, 2006 at 7:36 pm #433043I have used the Leech Lake Knife for a couple of years now and have cleaned a ton of fish without it going dull. My brother has cleaned hundreds of fish before having to sharpen his also. great knife, best I have ever owned. I have used it to cut up cut bait and then used it the next weekend to filet sunnies and it is still sharp as the day I got it.
January 20, 2006 at 3:44 pm #413400I picked up the scout at the spsortsman show also, haven’t used it yet but will this weekend, can’t beat the 160.00 no tax sticker price!! I looked into the marcumm and the sales guy who i trust and have bought most of my equipment from said that they are having trouble with the lense leaking on them right now. He said that aqua vu ahd the same issue when they first came out, told me to wait a year or so to purchase the marcumm. Did you see the 50% off St. Croix rods at Reed’s what a steal!!! On to the boat show this weekend to see what delas they have on electronics for the boats, nice to be able to go to mucltiple shops in one area and get the best deal.
