The app is called “ice report”, it’s free, and all it does is allow you to report ice thickness at your gps location. There are active reports from across the nation.

Another thread had something about people not being able to register – if I remember right I think it has password requirements (include a # or something) but it doesn’t tell you that when it rejects your registration.

Try making your password or username stronger

    Make Smitty sled.

My advice is to add 2×2 to the top of the skis, then use 1×10’s to create the sled (connecting the two skis)

Then set your house on top of that Smitty sled and drill screws through your portable house sled into the 1×10’s

    Only need 2″ clearance.

    They are perminently attached.

Your house is only 2″higher which your shirt will still hit ice.

Weight your skirt with sinkers and grommets so your skirt does not need snow to keep the skirt down when the wind blows.

Why detach the Smitty (most people make them excessively tall)

Make them short and perm attach them.

That’s how I’ve done it the last few years and I can be mobile!!!

Do you happen to have a picture of this configuration? My only concern would be if it would still fit in the back of my SUV. With a truck no problem.

Randy Anderson is an awesome fella. He’s got a knack for teaching predator hunting, and spends more of his time trying to figure out new tactics and techniques than anybody I’ve seen.

Since DVD’s are going the way of the dinosaur, we’re taking all of Randy’s hunts that would normally go on the Calling All Coyotes DVD and putting them on YouTube. He’s got a ton of education that we normally can’t fit into the DVD that will now live online.

    That is great news!

I’d certainly be interested in the rest of the story.

Put this in another situation. Suppose someone drove a car to buy a burger from a drive through restaurant. On the return home the driver was pulled over and it was found that the car did not have an operable horn. Horns are required on roads in this state as a safety device.

    169.68 HORN, SIREN.

    (a) Every motor vehicle when operated upon a highway must be equipped with a horn in good working order and capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than 200 feet.

Should the person in this scenario be required to return the sandwich because of an inoperable horn?

No, because the horn has no bearing on the purchase of sandwich.

Likewise, the life jacket had no bearing on the act of catching fish. As pointed out, the life jacket is a requirement of the boating regulations not fishing. Unless something has changed.

    Well said! applause

Most people don’t understand the relationship me and mashed potatoes have, and now I hear of this potatoe bar? Serious? I’m not going to be able to sleep now. This is amazing, almost a whole new world has opened itself to me.

What are you guys looking for in good Morel territory? I’ve never found one (only been out looking once last year, and once this year), but would love to get a better idea of prime habitat.

X2 I have not been out but plan to this next week sometime for the first time.

I actually can’t even imagine changing my own oil anymore. I learned from my dad too, and did it myself for a short time. But that was before kids, and sports, and work travel, etc, etc, etc. I have a shop that I know and trust and always take my vehicles there. 45 minutes and $25 later I’m all done with tires rotated too. And no old oil to worry about disposing of, ever.

I’m with you on that toast I take both my vehicles to the same shop I’ve been going to for years now. At the same visit as the oil change I get tires rotated and a car wash. Done and done waytogo

The Marcum Showdown troller would be about the best option in my opinion. Small, light, AA batteries, inexpensive, and it works great.

You can get close online before heading out to the water but like FishBlood&River said it is best to make that adjustment on the water for a more accurate depth/water level.

This segment of Tips ‘n Tricks shows how to use the sonar readings from your Humminbird to adjust the Water Level Offset Feature on your LakeMaster Mapping Charts. A great tool to customize your mapping for the current fishing conditions to exactly match your map data to your current depth readings.

BigWerm would you recommend a leader (fluoro) with the braid line or tie direct?

I’m tempted to cut the hooks of the ends of those baits and possibly upsize the treble.

Those outside hooks might catch a nip bite, but I didn’t buy those for Eater sized fish. I bet those outside hooks are largly responsible for losing a fish after hook up.

    I’ll give it a try.
But if it affects action I’ll back out

I have heard this with guys ice fishing these baits. Not sure might be for a different reason like catching on the edge of the ice

Pretty good argument on why braid is no good for those jigging raps in that episode. They were under pressure and putting the screws to the fish on didn’t help either.

    Extremely entertaining.

Just wondering why braid is no go for jigging raps? Info is needed so I can rig correctly for this presentation. I was thinking my same set-up for blade baits would double for jigging raps.
