Tapout, I guess I didn’t explain myself well enough. I too am a trophy hunter, BUT I make a point to never put someone down for any deer that they harvest. If someone is happy to shoot a four pointer who are we to tell him to let it go. Not everyone has the funds to purchase or lease land. Also in this economy some people are being forced to be meat hunters. I am hopeful that I can kill one more doe this year compared to last.

“Crazed meat hunters” WOW just amazes me how some people think they are better than other because they are “trophy hunters.” Lets respect everyone’s choice to hunt how ever they want (as long as it is legal) and remember that we are all “Hunters.”

javascript:void(0)I checked both of my baits today and nothing touched them. Ill head back up this weekend and freshen them up with fresh stuff for one more week and if nothing comes in Ill be searching for a new spot.

Do you guys remove the old bait if it hasn’t been hit and replace it with new bait everytime, or do you leave it for a certain amount of time. All I did today was spray more liquid scent on the trees. Thanks for the help guys.

Joel, whenever I make venison roast I add at least 2 cubes of beef bouillon.

I got this recipe from my sister in law after having it at her house. I decided to make it tonight with venison. This is cooked in the oven at low temp but I think it would work fine in a crock I just haven’t tried it that way yet.

    1lb venison stew meat
    3 carrots
    2 potatoes
    2 stalks celery
    1 onion
    1 Tbsp tapioca
    1 slice bread, cubed
    2 cans stewed tomatoes
    1 tsp Salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/4 tsp mixed italian spices

Chop all vegetables, mix all ingredients together in a 2 quart casserole. Bake at 250* for 5 hours.
