So much for a January update… I am planning on a trip this weekend. This may be my only one for the rest of the season, because of school and work schedule. Pretty disappointed…
January 16, 2016 at 6:05 pm #1593066My wife took the strap handle from inside the soft case, it goes all the way around it, cut it in half, then found the balancing point and resewed it on the outside, now it is much longer and I can grab it easily with gloves on.

That’s it, it is not balanced well at all. For the rest of the trips I have gone out, I would just leave the case by the sled and hole hop with just the unit.
Wish I had some skill in sewing…
November 30, 2015 at 5:54 pm #1580841Like people have said above, the Bullwhip is primarily a heavier Precision Noodle rod, best for tungsten jigs and small spoons. The Precision rod, is great as an all purpose rod, like the Quicktip(a little lighter than the Precision in action and weight). You can handle any fish on our rods, but landing times may vary. It really all depends on what lures/baits you plan to use for each of our rods. Again, the Precision is the go to rod for many, such as myself, also a huge fan of the Quicktip for all purpose as well. You can always message me for more details.

I will comment for you. What parent takes a 4 month old out at that hour!!! The river is high and fast right now!!! I wonder what they were on??? I hope they get charged with child endangerment!!!Saw this on the news. Simply unbelievable. A 4 month old. On a river. At night. In a small boat. At 1245am.
and no life jackets…
May 10, 2015 at 12:16 am #1542915What if you jump over the tracks, and not walk over them, does that still count as trespassing?
February 1, 2015 at 4:04 pm #1505762I could be wrong, but I heard a shot of rubbing alcohol or something of the sort keeps water from freezing. Since alcohol brings the freezing point of water down. Or even oil, like said above. Haven’t tried it myself, but I don’t think it wouldn’t hurt too much. My concern would be how it may effect the fish coming up, but if you use a little, I don’t think it would be a problem…
November 25, 2014 at 10:39 am #1476836I have all ways had problems finding good line, when I use fluorocarbon it always gets curly and twisted
This has been a problem for me as well, since I almost strictly use fluorocarbon for ice fishing… Although after trying many brands, it’s all about how much money you want to spend. Just like the saying, “you get what you pay for.” I have sacrificed a few more dollars for more quality line, but also believe I have found a happy/medium as well. I love using Sunline FC Sniper, if money isn’t a problem for me, or Seaguar Red Label has been great for me if I want to save some money.
Fluoro is great for clear lakes, and since water clarity improves during the winter months, it is a must have for me. Another, is that since it isn’t porous like Braided line or similar lines, it doesn’t freeze up as much or quickly as other lines. Another is the stretch, there isn’t much, comparing to monofilament. Also, it is less abrasive than mono, and that is a big factor when you things get cold and potentially brittle or if you run into a stronger/toothy fish. Another thing, is the memory of the line. Both mono and fluoro have line memory, so line curls will always be an issue. The more quality line, the less it becomes (obviously).Lastly, fluorocarbon sinks/less buoyant, comparing to mono and/or braided line, which aids in presentation of smaller jigs or lures.
Some of my observations and experiences with using Fluorocarbon.

Adam 763.370.4544July 12, 2014 at 3:17 pm #1439711I use a Shimano Sedona 500 for both Perch and Panfish. If I am shallow, I use my Okuma SLV 2/3 weight fly reels! Both, to me, are great reels and have their place for different situations!
