These are old lures, they still have the folded paper advertisement in the box that I remember from the mid 90’s

Michael, I got my first Ontario musky on the I believe eastern point of hay island in early October 2019 on a suick, not big but a musky none the less.

March 17, 2020 at 6:21 pm #1924155I work for a sewer dept. and was told today that the only way we won’t work is if we get the corona so I am thankful for that, I think.
June 18, 2019 at 2:35 pm #1862857Thanks, I will have to give this a try since it is kind of hard for me to get good live bait. What size hooks were you using?
May 5, 2019 at 1:13 pm #1854770I’ve only got 1 in a trap and have set them quite a few weekends straight. I set them in show mucky/sandy weedy areas with overhanging trees. Do you have any better tips for me of where to set them? Thanks
May 1, 2019 at 3:01 pm #1854096I didn’t consider that thanks for the idea I will have to check when I get home.
August 8, 2018 at 9:29 am #1790274I would choose the 9, you can put 2 full size sd cards in it and that to me would be worth it. I have a 7 and it is a pain putting the tiny micro sd card in the side, it might not be a big deal to you but I hate how the card is in the 7.
April 1, 2018 at 7:57 pm #1764493I would also like a recipe for this or at least a description, is it like a brat or a summer or smoked sausage?
February 2, 2018 at 7:51 pm #1749476That is a neat picture, I would love to visit those days but maybe not live in them, I don’t think I’m that tough.
June 1, 2017 at 7:54 pm #1697161I got a Montana black gold 4 pin sight used on ebay and love it. The .019 pins are crisp, no more fuzzy pin like the cheap one I had before. They are around $100 new I got mine for $50 used. I might look into getting a .010 pin for my top pin.
March 17, 2017 at 6:59 pm #1682068The mudbum rod looks amazing but it is way out of my price range, I would like to keep it under $60 with shipping. I really appreciate all the help and whatever rod I get I will be sure to give a report on how I like it. I have been looking at my rods and reels I have and I think I am set on channel rods, I have 4 medium combos that I use for channels so I think I am going to dedicate this rod for flathead which is very new to me. I’m going to make my decision this weekend and like I said I will give a review on whatever power rippin lips rod I go with.
March 16, 2017 at 8:04 pm #1681851Well looking at it again they do not have free return shipping on everything, in that case I might just bite the bullet and order a medium, there is a youtube video of a guy cathing a 22 pound channel and it looked like it handled it well. I’m a little far north for blues but a few of my friends have been talking about a trip to Kentucky lake or the Mississippi down to southern IL for some blues.
March 16, 2017 at 6:30 pm #1681829Thanks for all the replys, I think I’m going to look into the ripping lips rod, the medium heavy is on amazon if I don’t like it I think return shipping is free
February 22, 2017 at 2:34 pm #1676079The helix 7 g2 does not do weeds or bottom hardness, I talked to humminbird about it, some retailers had that the g2 did bottom hardness maps and was told that they can’t control what retailers put up for description, kind of used car salesman tacticts if you ask me I was looking forward to the bottom hardness mapping.
February 21, 2017 at 9:41 am #1675715I didn’t check the door but his open sign was on, he told me last year you have to turn the handle hard but that’s not something I really want to do to a serve yourself place.
February 16, 2017 at 5:55 pm #1674660Electrical contact grease would be your best bet, autozone or similar store will have it.
December 26, 2016 at 8:12 pm #1659991How does that work for catfish? It seems where I fish crawdads only produce cats real late summer when used for bait but when I clean fish all year they have crawdads in there stomachs. I bet you would get some strange looks if you went to a fancy fly shop and asked for catfish flies.
December 3, 2016 at 3:58 pm #1654355I’m pretty new to the walleye and jig game but I love making and painting jigs, I make round head, tear drop, pony head and made a bunch of flathead jigs but sold the mold. So far I like the flathead jigs in 3/8 as that’s what I’ve used most and caught fish on but plan to step up on using jigs since I can make them for penny’s and enjoy doing it.
November 29, 2016 at 6:10 am #1653322Bass pro and some other not so well known say they have the helix 7 g2’s for sale but I don’t know what to think about that since humminbird said they won’t be out until december.
November 22, 2016 at 5:49 pm #1652060How did you end up doing, I would have loved to give you company but stupid work was in the way.
July 3, 2016 at 8:44 am #1627435thanks for the info, I got the tear drop mold a while ago and almost have a hundred of each size made. I kind of figured the stand up would wedge in rocks pretty bad because of there shape.
June 24, 2016 at 12:13 pm #16261641/8, 1/4 3/8 5/8 and 3/4 ounce in this mold and it’s just called stand up jig
May 12, 2016 at 12:16 pm #1619229I have used the little nasty hooks and like how they pour better than the matazou sickle hooks. I think the mold says 4/0 for the 1/2oz and that seemed a little big for me I think I will stick to 2/0 or maybe 3/0 max for now like I said I am new to walleye fishing. I have found the keepers pretty cheap at captainhooks website, hopefully my mold will be here Saturday so I can start casting this weekend. Thanks for all your help hopefully I will have some pictures of fish I have caught with my jigs before too long.
May 12, 2016 at 7:36 am #1619128Jake Hendrickson what size and style hooks do you like in your jigs, I’ve poured some of the sickle hooks for panfish jigs but haven’t used them yet and was wondering if you had used them or plain old eagle claw j hooks also what size do you like, it seems like the 4/0 would be a little too big.
May 9, 2016 at 4:59 pm #1618345I’ve caught a ton in minnow traps in rocky creeks nice size ones too but I have never tried to eat them. Not sure on the legality of it in MN, I am in IL. I have never found bait to make much difference I have caught them with dog food as bait and I have caught them with nothing in the trap. I like the wire gee’s minnow traps but the cheap black frabil ones work for them too just not minnows.
May 8, 2016 at 5:21 pm #1618102Oh boy I might be getting in over my head I guess I’ll have to look what the difference between the 2 are. Thank you.
April 23, 2016 at 10:57 pm #1615322I caught a few carpsuckers a couple years ago and cut them up for trapping bait and was amazed at how white the meat was and want to try and eat them like sucker but haven’t caught on since.
April 21, 2016 at 5:54 pm #1615023I really like the eagle claw L198 in 2/0 and 3/0, it’s a lighter wire circle hook and it has a big eye if your using twine for your drops also Todd tackle in Thomson had some for a pretty good price last summer if you don’t want to order. I also use Mustad 34009 j hooks in size 1 and 1/0 but as I slowly use them up I will be replacing them with the L198, they work good but I think I get better hook ups with the circles.
