I’ve got the same set up and the contour lines only show up on a select few lakes. I fished woman and winnie and had lines but when I went to some other smaller lakes all I had were random depths but no lines or contours. I had a really hard time getting mine to register the map and had to reset it a couple of times before I could get anything. You might try the reset and see what happens.

Fished 17 yesterday and you will have to use the old ramps. It was fishing and not catching for our boat. Managed 3 fish for the day. When we started around 10 there were 6 boats by noon we were the only ones still fishing the dam area. Stuck it out till 4:30 with not much to show for it. Was a good day to be on the water though.
December 8, 2006 at 1:51 am #508489Thanks Herb,
I am going to try and make it out on Saturday and Sunday. Was supposed to fish the Illinois but she is still running high and very dirty. Will post how we do.
Thanks,
JohnDecember 7, 2006 at 8:20 pm #508306Just wondering if anyone has launched out of New Boston lately. Thinking about getting out this weekend if the ramps are open.
Thanks,
JohnNovember 23, 2006 at 12:38 am #502541Was out on 18 this afternoon from 1-4 and the bite was light. Ended up with 8 walleye 5 shorts and 3 between 18 and 26 all released. All fish came on jig and minnow vertical jigging. Depth varied from 12-20.
Good luck to all.
November 1, 2006 at 1:02 am #494439Great Job Dan!! Good to see some different names at the top. It was a really good bite and had been that way for the past 4 weeks. I think it will only get better for the next couple of events. It was really tough finishing one place out of the money. Good luck and see you at the upcoming events. By the way I fixed that foot pedal I got from you in Escanaba and it seems to be working ok now.

October 30, 2006 at 8:12 pm #493785Really great tournament Bob!! Fish were really hungry we had our 6 in the box by 8:00 and spent the rest of the day upgrading looking for that one bigger fish. We caught 20 -30 saugers between 16-18 inches but just could not hit any over 18. Had a great day and looking forward to the next one.

October 22, 2006 at 9:56 pm #491410Hey Jeff,
I launched out of Keithsburg early and managed 6 saugers and 3 eyes (all released) just north of the Iowa river. Did manage 2 saugers early just below the 2nd or 3rd wing dam from the lock. I have been having pretty good luck the past couple of weeks vertical jigging that whole stretch.
Give me a holler if you want to get out sometime I fish until ice up and usually have an open seat. Just moved to the area a couple of years ago and have only met bass fishermen that don’t like the cold.
September 29, 2006 at 3:40 pm #484028Going to be hitting pool 18 both days for the eyes. They were active last weekend hoping for the same this weekend. They are starting to show up on the wing dams and the sand flats were good in the late evening. Good luck to all.
July 21, 2006 at 2:31 am #462264I have not heard any numbers, but I can tell you the sauger bite has really slowed the past couple of years. Most of the IWT guys believe that they have had a real adverse affect on the native species. I spoke with a DNR official a couple of weeks back that thought they should have some data on native species by the end of the summer.
As far as commercial fishermen there are a few that are getting them but the market is not that large. The couple I have talked to have had to have special nets made due to the weights that they catch. They are still trying to determine the cost benefit.
July 20, 2006 at 11:09 pm #462191While these fish are a sight to see during their aerial assaults the mess they leave behind is beyond belief. I fish the Spring Valley area on a regular basis and have had the unfortunate experience of seeing these fish up close and personal. In a span of less than 5 minutes we had 10-15 of these fish in the boat and the blood and slime left behind took hours to get rid of.
Try explaining to the wife that the fish were just jumping in the boat when she asks how the he.. you made that mess in the boat. She really had a hard time believing that we had the fish jumping in the boat. It looked like a first class crime scene. The blood washes out of the carpet much easier than the slime. I have since learned how to avoid them for the most part.
To bad the virus that was attacking them did not kill them all off.
