Check out <strong class=”ido-tag-strong”>walleye talk. it’s 2 guides out of walker that talk about <em class=”ido-tag-em”>walleye fishing and give highly detailed reports about what’s working for them. Here’s the link to this week’s episode, they post a new one every week!

i know guys put permanent shacks out. i couldn’t really tell you when people start driving on the lake. that would just depend on ice conditions obviously. and yes the dnr report gets updated every week and do tell the ice conditions.
also if you get down there for some yellows get ready to be on the move all day if you wanna catch a ton of them. i know guys will catch 150 200 a day. drill lots of holes! good luck and maybe ill see you out there!

the only thing i have found with the suffix siege is that the line sinks in the water. i had it spooled up on my slip bobber set up and it makes it hard to get a decent hook set. other then that it seams like great line!

i emailed minn kota a couple days ago too. this is what they told me

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, our US1 compatibility chart has not been updated since 2006. We have not tested any of the newer model depth finders with our older transducer. You could double check with Lowrance to see if the two work as they know our pin layout and the capabilities of their depth finder goes. The 2nd problem you run into is the US1 adapter cables are no longer available, so if Lowrance states the two would work together, you’d have to attempt to find an adapter cable through a Google search or eBay.

i bought this rod a couple of weeks ago so i could hole hope for bluegills and crappie so i don’t have to get down on my knees and i love it for those fish. i haven’t tried it for anything else yet but i could see it being a good walleye rod. have you ever used rippin raps and slab raps with it at all? was wondering if it can handle those kind of baits with the flat tip on the rod. thanks for the question. never really thought of using the rod for walleyes.

where can you buy smelt at? the bait shops and grocery stores around my area do not sell it. i have tried looking up things on where to buy it but could not really find anything.
