I have the same exact question that I just posted on the forum! I am sure a lot of people on this site should know this information.

I’ve actually tried the line so thought I’d post a review. I know the guy that developed it and purchased the line when I saw it on Facebook. The line was shipped to my home around $22.
I used it fishing for catfish after dark in 6 ft of water in the upper Mississippi. Bite detection and visibility is superb. I really like that I can have my light on green or red and the reflection back to me is great. The reflection did not travel down the line as some are worried about. The bite was not affected.
The Diameter of the line is thicker than traditional braid. I would say somewhere between 10 and 20 pound mono. In fact I am a little surprised it isn’t rated a touch higher than 10 lb test. The line breaking point appears to be greater than that.
I did run a flouro leader just because that is what I like to do. I attached 17 lb test to it and I needed to massage the modified albright knot to get it tight. Once tight the knot held as it always does.
I was running this on a Quantum Accurist spinning reel and a 7′ medium heavy action abu garcia vendetta. I did lose some castability, it probably casted only 90-95% of my suffix 832. This was not important to me since I was anchored and bottom fishing for cats. Most likely because of the reflective material in it. I would say that the reflective material also contributes to the greater line diameter.
I can say that for the application of bottom fishing channel cats I will definitely be running this line on all of my rods. I don’t think that I will night fish for channels without it. I would like to test it out pitching after dark but I have not done that yet. I would also purchase if 60 or 80 pound line came out for Flathead and sturgeon.
I did take some pics but it was tough to get a great shot after dark. I also took one video to show how the line reflects but doesn’t do justice.
February 16, 2014 at 7:07 am #1389052I have two I fish pro tip ups and absolutely love them for pike. I do feel that the release is a little heavy for walleye. But it has not affected my pike fishing. I have not fished a long rod out of it. I fish a 30″ rod and have been happy with that. I fish braided line with quick strike rig and the hook up percentage is great. I have also stayed away from casting reels and stuck with spinning reels because of back lashes when the fish hits the bait hard. I could run the tension a little harder but I feel that the fish would drop the bait more so I just stick with the spinning reel. Bring extra line stops because you lose a lot of them. As for false flags they are pretty much non existent as I fish pro claims. Good luck with the pike.
July 24, 2013 at 1:01 pm #1185298Viking rod and reel out of Nisswa has done some work on my rods and reels. If your other route does not work let me know and I will get you the number.
July 2, 2013 at 6:50 pm #1181395My guess it is off of a grease gun. Check fleet farm in the farm department. I might be way off but that sure is what it looks like to me.
June 21, 2013 at 2:46 am #1179124I use the trail feature to save productive trolling routes as well as marking the river channel in shallow rivers.
June 1, 2013 at 12:24 am #1174706Thank you for checking this out on your unit for me. It is greatly appreciated.
May 31, 2013 at 11:36 pm #1174696Thanks…I will have to get it updated. If I put he most current update in it does that take care of all previous updates as well or do they build on one another. Sorry for my ignorance.
Thanks,
CMay 31, 2013 at 10:02 am #1174525I always set up each screen individually before I run different views simultaneously.
May 30, 2013 at 10:07 am #1174289I live in a high tick population area. I have had several deer ticks and have not contracted lyms disease. Just be sure to check when get home. If the tick was not on for more than 24 hours you have a very low risk of contracting lyms. One last thing. Be sure to get that pesky head out.
April 15, 2013 at 2:15 pm #1162713I would recommend Tommy Flannigan of Flannigan Taxidermy out of Paynesville Mn. Paynesville is between St Cloud and Willmar. He did my fish for what I thought was a great price. His number is 320-492-9797.
April 11, 2013 at 11:51 pm #1161831I would take either of those. Or a legitimate 20 pound pike. I have been close but just haven’t done it yet.
April 11, 2013 at 5:06 pm #1161670Is there going to be a precission trolling app for the Android app market?
March 22, 2013 at 12:46 am #1154934I have a 998 and paid full price and love it. I think it was worth it even at full price. I would not pass up a 998 at half price. Especially if it new. I can not speak for Hds because I have never used one. I think that either way you go you will decrease your search time and increase your catch rate.
March 20, 2013 at 9:46 pm #1154370If you are referring to my post…I am not judging. Just saying it can’t hurt to let some go. Sounds like you are doing that already. We as sportsman appreciate that.
March 20, 2013 at 9:35 pm #1154366I am a multi species guy and my home body of water is mille lacs. I definately agree that we as walleye fisherman need to practice catch and release more. We are quick to point the finger at anyone (netting, dnr or government) but are not willing to manage our own beloved catch. I don’t agree with the netting, but let’s focus on what we can do as a sportsman and let some fish go ourselves.
March 15, 2013 at 12:05 am #1152177I have no issue getting around on my snowmobile pulling my portable!!! My advise is next year take of off before the bigger snow fall. This year start plowing or digging and get it off before the deadline.

March 2, 2013 at 12:02 am #1147559Strip the room down to nothing. Then paint KILLZ over everything. Tear out carpet and KILLZ the subfloor.
Killz works amazing to cover up both smells and stains. Be sure to cover whatever you want to keep. It is almost impossible to get drops off of anything you want to keep.
February 4, 2013 at 9:31 pm #1138055I am not trying to ruffle any feathers here. However, lots of permanent/spear houses are put out on the lake and they feel that spot is claimed. Nothing is claimed except the legal distance that people need to be away from your house and by the sounds of it he was far enough away. And he didn’t know how long it is going to be before you returned to your fish house. Maybe a day, hour, week? Who knows. Sometimes these things need to be looked at from the others point of view. Maybe he would have moved the tip up if you would have asked when you arrived. Who knows? Just my 2 cents.
January 10, 2013 at 1:19 am #11288318# for me. I do not feel you gain a lot of stealth from using 6# so why risk losing a big fish because you used lighter line.

December 21, 2012 at 5:30 pm #1122765Off until the 3rd of January and only 15 minutes from mille lacs!!!

I agree!! It is nice in February and march to get out on the lake after work during daylight hours to fish.
December 20, 2012 at 3:14 am #1122156PS hope your fingers healed.
The blood was actually from the mouth of the fish. I think it was a combination of the bullhead being crushed and the hook. Using a double action hook and it was hooked perfect so it wasn’t an injury to the cat.
December 20, 2012 at 2:57 am #1122150My biggest is 45” by 28” and my wife caught one 45″ as well. Here are a couple of pics
December 19, 2012 at 11:55 pm #1122060I agree jake2000. I think they are awesome fish. I caught three one night with a shiner on the weed edge. However, just like others stated I was not targeting them.
December 19, 2012 at 1:30 am #1121767When I got my h2o c I had the same issue. I put it outside and left it sit there searching for about 10 minutes. It finally picked a signal. I have not had any issues with it since. Going on 4 years to use in the winter and it works great. Probably Not the great response you are looking for but it worked for me. You can also scroll through the pages and check If it is picking up any satellites. I have noticed the farther away I turn it on from the spot I last turned it off the longer the signal takes to lock in. Just my 2 cents take or leave it.
November 21, 2012 at 5:19 pm #1113992I use a rope on my fish house. It is not ideal but it works just fine. I tie mine pretty short actually. I fish mille lacs and run all over the lake. The only time I have been close to having any issues is when I hit glare ice. I would not hesitate…just use common sense. I like the rope to move my house when I get to my spot. As long as you are on snow you can move along at a pretty good clip too.
November 19, 2012 at 11:04 pm #1113410I love mine as well. If you can find one online for pretty cheap I wouldn’t hesitate. Really nice lite weight house. I have fished hard out of mine for three years now. the sled is a Perfect size to fit any buckets and gear in. Just an fyi the sled is just a little small to fit a power auger in.
October 26, 2012 at 2:16 am #1107692If the radio was in Spanish I would not be yelling at it as much!!!!
