What do you mean by “the two areas fish different?” I have been to Gill’s Rock once and sturgeon bay once both times I was almost blown off the water. What are the fish going on now? May have to try and come up now as well!
June 18, 2007 at 6:02 pm #581637I have never seen a bass boat with one on that makes me wonder if they really work. I am having the prop fixed before putting one of these on. I added a battery and four bank charger this year so I know there is added weight. Does anyone have a picture of where the O2 sensor is on a 200 yamaha hpdi (2001)Thanks!
June 14, 2007 at 3:01 am #580472Thanks Brovarney for clarifying. I agree with your views. I was under the imppression that it was law in WI that once a fish was in the livewell it could not be released unless you have a permit for a tournament. And since they did not need a permit for the size or type of the tournament they were having they were stuck in some gray area that may not be addressed in the rules and regs? Am I making any sense? I would like to think that the DNR was doing what he thought was right. Even if he was unclear of the rules. I hate to think that they are just out there trying to mess with fisherman. I hope the guys who had the tournament take the complaint to the DNR and get some resolution.
June 13, 2007 at 12:29 pm #580158As I read all these posts I am trying to think is there an advantage to this rule? It does seem dumb to make them keep the fish but sometimes there is a good reason. I have not found one yet but was thinking maybe this is to prevent people from catching a limit then throwing it back at the end of the day (some fish may die) then going out to catch another limit of fish. I know this is not likely but I would think there has to be some rational reason for this rule. So instead of bashing others can anyone think of why the DNR would impose this rule?
June 12, 2007 at 9:59 pm #580028Does anyone know where I can get the prop re-worked? I do have a 6″ jack plate. Does anyone else run one of those cobra stabilizers? Have you noticed a difference? Also any good sites to check out props? Thanks again for all the info!
June 12, 2007 at 4:44 pm #579923prop is 14.5 by 25 I run the motor at 5500 because that what Yamaha says. I will look into the stabilizer. thanks
June 12, 2007 at 2:53 pm #579905With a tournament load full livewells I am struggling to get up on plane. I have lost a couple mph’s as well. Prop is dinged up a little bit what does it cost to ge a prop reworked? I appreciate the suggestions!
June 12, 2007 at 1:30 am #579755I have not had any problems with the boat or motor but I am having trouble getting on plane. I went from a 24volt to 36 and added a four bank charger. extra weight is holding me back. Motor is 6 years old just kicking around ideas.
May 17, 2007 at 1:32 pm #572107BFL website has this tournament listed on June 30th is that a mistake?
May 15, 2007 at 2:28 am #571195Thanks waterfowler. I sent him a PM but had not heard back so thought I would post this. I think I may have found someone.
March 1, 2007 at 6:26 pm #543387Why do they limit them to two tackle boxes of lures? I can see the issue with the boats but tackle limits? That seems like they are going a little to far.
February 28, 2007 at 6:48 pm #542829what is a jumper and where do you put the breaker? I am clueless on this stuff.
February 27, 2007 at 2:08 am #541995Just my perception but listening to him talk to Randy Howell and the couple other explanations he gave, it just came across like he was mad at the ruling and did not agree with it. I mean come on he was about three feet away from a boat with another angler and camera man! I am a boater and maybe it is just me but I wouldn’t even think of trying something like that. Not that I would feel unsafe but just seemed unnecesary. I know you can catch alot of fish in two minutes but I guess my point was is two minutes more fishing worth risking getting DQ’ed? I don’t think so. I thought his crying was more like whinning, poor me, not upset that he let people down. Just my impression.
February 26, 2007 at 6:49 pm #541688I was flipping 17lb elite last year on the river and was breaking off on every other cast! I usually flip with heavier line but the water was low and clear. Maybe I should give it another shot it seems that you guys like it.
February 26, 2007 at 6:11 pm #541664I want to like Swindle but he makes it hard. The thing that gets me is he never admitted he was wrong. All he said is that he made a poor decision. That crap about how in his world as a professional they drive fast was stupid. Just admit you broke the rule apologize for being stupid and take your punishment. I hate when people who screw up try to act like the victim. As the sport of fishing grows and gets more mainstream anglers are going to be held to higher standards. And when you think about it he maybe saved two minutes by not idling through! Don’t think that was worth it.
February 21, 2007 at 8:13 pm #539769I tried the suffix elite. Did not like it. I don’t think it is very abbrasion resistent.
February 14, 2007 at 1:53 am #536540where can I find Trojan batteries? I have a 36 volt trolling motor. What do trojans run price wise?

December 27, 2006 at 5:31 pm #515608Wow I didn’t think looking for a new shirt would bring up all this conversation! Good stuff! Just to clarify, I would love to become a pro but do not have the time to invest. I made that decision a few years back. I would love to have some sponsers to help with costs but again I don’t have the time to pursue them. I don’t dress like a slob when I fish either. I just thought it would be nice to get some fishing hats and shirts for when I fish tournaments. And since I use certain brands I thought I would support them. Just like I might wear a Titlest hat or Callaway shirt when I golf. I am not looking to cover my shirt with a million patches or stickers on my boat. Thanks for the help with finding some gear!
December 26, 2006 at 7:33 pm #515242I found some stuff for triton and yamaha on thier websites. Anyone see anything for Garmin or Quantum? Could not find anything on their websites. Thanks for the help on this stuff.
December 26, 2006 at 7:26 pm #515240what can I expect to pay to have a prop fixed up? It is in good shape only a little nick here and there.
