The easiest way to tell if a stainless prop is better in the long run is the fact that every single person that makes their living with an outboard has a stainless prop on it.

Since 3 person teams win at a rate of 3 times more than 2 person teams it does not really seem to be a fair format and handicaps those that can only field a 2 person team.
I used to have a 9.9 4stk kicker that was a pain to start even with electric start when cold. Lots of cranking.
Switched to synthetic oil and you could not touch the starter button fast enough to keep it from starting. If I had not seen the difference my self I probably would not have believed the difference it could make.
I own an insulation contracting company and I deal with a ton of indoor air quality issues on a weekly basis.
Most air purifiers do not move enough air to do a really good job unless you spend quite a bit of money on one. And if your home is leaky you are simply slapping a bandaid on the problem.
The 2 best things to improve your indoor air quality are to make sure your attic is air sealed properly and to install an HRV or ERV. Preferably an ERV as it will keep humidity inside in the winter and outside in the summer. If you cannot do both then get the attic properly air sealed as it will pay the greatest dividends by stopping the stack effect and keeping that funky attic air out of your home
The attic air sealing alone will reduce or eliminate allergy and asthma symptoms in your home. It will also reduce dust and odors as well as dramatically improving the comfort of your home year-round. It will also reduce ice damming, drafts, cold floors, and attic condensation along with improving humidity both summer and winter.
After that, a quality air quality monitor will allow you to see what is in the air and help you practice source control. Most people are amazed to find that the air in their home is typically 50 to 100% worse than the air in Los Angeles or Houston. These are important enough that I give free Flow 2’s to my customers. These are the absolute best air quality monitor you can get for under $200.00. It allows you to see your air quality minute by minute and you will be floored when you see the degradation in air quality from making toast or the wife using some hair spray. (Or my cooking for that matter can make the air go full Calcutta)
If you or any family member deals with allergies or asthma symptoms get your attic air sealed properly and you will see an immediate and dramatic improvement in their health.

5200 is the best marine sealant overall and is the pros choice.
One thing to keep in mind with silicone is that is is almost impossible to remove completely and nothing will stick to silicone not even silicone.
The line that I sell is Richlin which is made by Hayfield in there new state of the art plant that is about 50 yds from the Hayfield plant.
Hayfields contracts with the big distributors prevent them from selling to individual contractors. They started a new company (Richlin) with new state of the art equipment and we buy direct and save our customers the middleman markup. Usually at least $500 or more in savings on a standard size double hung.
They are a more energy efficient window than anything Anderson, Marvin, or Pella make and they carry a better warranty. I can put a custom MN built, lifetime warranty, standard size, Low E glass, dual pane argon filled, with lifetime glass breakage and lifetime workmanship warranty for approx $800. I cannot at that price install just 1 or 2 for you and you would need to be looking at doing at least 4 or 5.
Now a couple window truths, from an honest window salesman.
There are hundreds of window manufacturers because there is so much money to be made on them. The industry joke is the frames are filled with gold.
Windows are holes in your wall that cannot ever be as well insulated as the wall can no matter how much you spend. if you live in an older home with little insulation in the walls the most expensive high efficiency window on the planet will make no difference at all.
The most energy efficient windows are not really very efficient. You can spend $3000 on a triple pane krypton filled top of the line window and get an R Value of about 7 and the cheapest double pane will get you about R3 to R3.5. R value is 1 divided by the U value as listed on the sticker on the window.
If your current windows are drafty you can remedy much of this by air sealing your attic. This will improve the humidity in your home, make your floors warmer in the winter, reduce dust and allergens, minimize cold and hot spots.
There is simply no reason to install new windows to save money or energy because the payback is measured in decades not years. The only good reasons to change them are if they are damaged or you are looking to make a cosmetic change. Any window salesman that tells you that you will save money with new windows is simply not being honest with you.
The stack effect that occurs in a building what causes most window drafts and that can be remedied by air sealing the attic at a fraction of the cost of new windows.
Many new code built homes that are highly energy efficient use cheap builder grade windows but have excellent air sealing done that makes them so efficient.
I know this for a fact because I do code compliance blower door and duct leakage testing for number of new home builders around the state and see the builder grade windows that they are using as well as the great air change per hr numbers they are achieving.
It is a vinyl window as they are far more energy efficient than a wood window can be. You can get them painted, clad, or wood inside.
I sell a line that is super energy efficient, lifetime warranty, lifetime glass breakage warranty and lifetime labor warranty. And they come in at almost 1/2 the cost of Anderson Pella and Marvin windows.
I did a quote for 39 windows for a customer last year, Marvin Integrity’s came in at $71,000 and mine came in at $37,000 and beat the Marvin in every category such as u value, solar heat gain, air leakage etc.

Not trying to be a downer but here is some food for thought.
Most everyone in this part of the country seems to be in love with the idea of a quick release plate for their bow mount trolling motor. The little bitty locks you can secure them with can be popped off with a screwdriver in seconds.
I always bolt mine on with nyloc’s and it going to take some time, effort, contortion disassembly and tools to get it off, and if you add a second nyloc on top of the first you likely with not find a thief motivated enough to bother with it.
I am parked next to someone with a quick release plate you can bet on which one will have better chance of being gone in the morning. Your quick release plate is my best trolling motor security system.
If you use CCA treated wood it will make the aluminum corrode from the copper in the treatment. Put them together get them wet and the aluminum hull becomes the sacrificial metal.
Food for thought, first time I have ever heard of someone having an issue with a suzuki OB on here. Hmmmmm
Look at the Costco memory foam mattress one of the highest rated by CR
Boat cover truths
If it is not custom made it will flap, if it flaps it will not last
If it flaps and has dust or dirt on it you will have an abrasive cloth that is scuffing your boats finish while towing or in the wind
Strap on covers cannot be used at the dock Snap on covers can.
Straps need to be adjusted if your boat is sitting a couple inches off on the trailer from when you initially set them.
A good custom snap on cover will shed all the rain strapons usually won’t.
Hundred dollar boat, hundred dollar cover (Similar to a $50 dollar head only needs a $50 helmet)
If you compare pros and cons of Hardi and LP side by side you would never buy Hardi. They are both about the same cost but the LP has about 10 advantages that Hardi cannot compete with.
I am in the industry and would never sell anyone Hardi over Lp and would never install Hardi if LP was an option.
Note to Andy, if you think that using Facebook is all just happy, happy, touchy feely good times you might want to read this article to open your eyes a bit.
I for one get a bit tired of all the DNR bashing that goes on here by mostly persons without a scientific much less an aquatic biology background.
I spoke with a DNR employee doing creel surveys at Mille Lacs last fall and I asked him his background and it turns out he had both a Masters degree and a PHD in the field.
I am curious as to how many experts here have even one of these degrees much less 2 of them.
