Mike; Hi, I have the 3.5 hp jiffy auger also not many at all around anymore! Rare to see one on the ice anymore. The biggest engine Jiffy ever used! Kinda like me at 71 years. I also have had problems with mine. Engine is just fine and I think it will last forever. I’ve had it many years bought it new. I took it in to a (Jiffy guru). I Use non-oxy with a 50/1 mix. I’m sure 40/1 is o.k. also.
The (carb jet settings were my problem). The one on the left is suppose to be out 1 1/8 turns. The one on the right is from 3/4 to 1 turn open. After that it has run really great! I remember adjusting them long ago when I should have (not done). It just needs to be always warmed up good before punching holes. My spring is in the hole farthest from the block, fyi. I love starting it and showing the kids how real men used to punch holes!! Tom Edberg

Monticatgeek thanks. I guess I had things mixed for the new shelters. Glad they stayed with the 900 denier fabric for the new X600. I just had mine out a week ago. Really liked it! Did not put the floor in as we were not going to stay overnight for walleyes. Its nice to have two people to carry the bag and help set up. Although one could do it. I say the Escape can easily handle 3 large adults. Small people probably 4-5. My son and I have two large luxury cots and we can easily fit them in and have 3-4 rattle reel lines down for walleyes for the overnight. We unhook trailer with wheeler in it and hook trailer to back of wheeler and pile all the gear in the trailer. We can run on 5 inches of ice.

I noticed Clam went to a different hub house this for their largest one. It is the C-860. The specs have changed for this year. Last year they had the Clam escape that I got and (I’m glad I did)! The Escape has 900 denier fabric, weighs 66 lbs, has 94 sq ft of space.
The new ones the C-860 model has a 600 denier fabric, weighs 55lbs, and went down to 89 sq ft. Maybe not allot there but the 900 should be allot warmer on a big lake with strong winds. The thing I disliked the most is you cannot get a insulated floor for the C-860 model.
With allot of the lakes getting flood water this year I do like the idea of using a large hub house. Allot of people with large houses are going to have lots of problems this year!! They Probably will miss allot of the early good bite. I like you can sleep in the large clam with cots AND can you pull it out with a ATV.
