take pics with your phone of what you have… refer to them at the store… use your phone note pad utility as an ongoing list of what you think you need to buy…. handy little tools… for shopping lists….

If Lakemaster has the lakes covered that you fish, get the Lakemaster chip. Lakemaster detail is superior. I have both chips. I use the Navionics chip for the smaller lakes that I fish that Lakemaster has not mapped.

I will back John up on on the regular clinch knot. If you snag that jig and have to break it off….it will break off at the knot. I love tying a palomar knot…but if you get that stuck…good luck…your line will come apart anywhere down to your jig.

Goota agree with Jigmup…Evergreen Lodge is a great place to fish out of..Gary and Patty are the best. Jiggin with a gulp minnow has produce many walleyes in the 26 to 30 inch range for us over the past 15 summers on that end of the lake. Trolling stick baits will get yo plenty of big walleyss….and lots of pike…all sizes. I have never needed to fish at night in Ontario..but to each their own. The Navionics Chip 2009 works very well for keeping your lower unit safe. Lac Seul can fluctuate 6 to 8 feet from spring to fall…so keep your day trails saved if you choose to venture out at night.

Count your beeps….12 levels of interference rejection….press until the clutter/interference goes away and you are at the right level. Not intending to sound like a smart [censored]…that is just how it works.

My LX 5 works pretty well as Vexilar repellent. I had a group of 4 guys with two new FL-20’s start popping holes right next to me……both vex units were unreadable due to my signal. OH well..had my spot to myself soon after…:) Even with the gsin at minimum…you might have an issue trying to use that vex in close proximity to that LX-5. I do lover the IR capabilities of my LX-5.

Just fixed a similar issue on my 04 Tahoe. I had to replace the sensor on the front transfer case. $120 for the part and $200 for labor….ouch!

I had my wheel house over thirty feet of water yesterday and my LX 5 clearly picked up a diamond jig in one hole and a single hook with the tiniest split shot above it in another and it showed them both…. The holes were 5 feet apart.

I always bring them in to the house. Batteries charge better when they are warm. I like to get my flasher and camera thawed out, charged up and dried out for the next trip. My garage is not heated.

If you did a good job of straining out the sediment….and there is no rancid smell to it…you should be ok to use it.

Do we really need to get into a Marcum vs Vexilar peeing match here? Yes… I own an LX5 and I am glad that I do. The cool thing I have always enjoyed about this IDO Fishing Forum is that as a group when someone has a problem or issue…you help each other! We all share information….We fish together! If anyone has a contact a Versa Electronics….then make the call and let them know someone needs help! I would not want to see this forum develop into a place where people get their negative on about products or business owners. That is enough preaching from me.

I stared in disbelief as I witnessed a small mini-van drive out on Cook’s Bay…West end of Minnetonka on Friday night. 7 inches of ice maximum.
