Body shops don’t do much actual fab work anymore anyways so the repair costs of aluminum bodies is baloney. There’s no welding, no shaping, maybe a little filler. Most all body shop work these days are glued together pieces and full piece replacement if it’s damaged as the cost is just less than actual body work.

North Dakota and Montana have specific snagging seasons for Paddlefish. It’s actually going on right now.

I’ve got a Green Mountain and it’s awesome. Barely even use our regular grill anymore.

You either need to overseed or apply the crabgrass preventer. The key word there is preventer, it doesn’t work for existing growing crabgrass. So if you already see it starting to come up, overseed. Not sure what your weather has been like in the SE, but it might be too late already for the crabgrass option. If you have thin spots, I’d probably say to power rake your lawn or do a heavy dethatching, overseed and fertilize this year and hopefully the new grass will choke out the crabgrass some and then apply the crabgrass preventer late, right before freeze so it’s in the ground come spring and also keeping any seed droppings from the crabgrass that’s existing from germinating and preparing for spring.

I’ve got a propane grill and a Green Mountain Grill (GMG) pellet burner as well and we’ve gone more to using the pellet grill with a cast iron type insert since there isn’t as much heat for the sear but the cast iron holds good heat to get some nice marks on it and the wood smoke taste is excellent. Also obviously using as a smoker is great. We barely use the gasser any more at all unless we have a bunch of people over and burn up some burgers or something simple.

I’ve got a strikemaster with the honda and 8″ bit. I switched to the snap cover this year and found it being kind of a pain to get the cover on when it had frozen up some on the blades. I also broke some chunks out of it when it was really cold one day. Having it outside all of the time doesn’t help my situation I suppose as I’m not in a hard sided shake barely ever. My original cover I swapped out the regular rubber band for a piece of fabric covered shock cord. Kind of like this material. You can get it by the foot typically at any home/hardware store and it’s really good. Doesn’t break in the cold and doesn’t get cut by the blade.

I carry a Shield 9mm with the thumb safety in an Alien IWB holster. Love it. I’ve got pretty big hands and even with the non pinky, short mag, I shoot it very accurately even at longer distances. In face I used it for completing my Class2 shooting requirement for my North Dakota CCW license even though I could have used a full frame weapon. Highly recommend it.

I’ve seen a lot of people have issues just getting their houses on the promised time frame from the company. The owner has had a pretty bad string of not delivering as promised or on time or even close to on time. the Lakestatefishing forum has a post that even included the owner lashing out at the person that purchased a house that then didn’t get it until 9 months or more after it was promised. The owner is terrible at returning calls/emails, etc. I’ve heard that the houses are really nice, but good luck with any warranty work or getting it delivered on time.

The 73sv non chirp is a hell of a model. If you’re intending to possibly use it on the ice, you’ll need to get the CHIRP model so you can use their ice transducer though.

Unfortunately that fire sale was probably the non CHIRP model. Those are not compatible with the ice transducer.

I’m sorry, but for the price and the fact that they were hyping it up and never launched it over a year ago, and now not so great software, they should just discontinue it and try again.

The price for it is just silly. $1700 and you don’t even get the camera part to it, not a chance! You can get an HDS9 along with all the mounting hardware everything and still be at a lower cost.

My 2015 F150 super crew with a 6.5′ box will fit an otter lodge with the tailgate up. If you have a low profile tonneau cover, it’s pretty tight. Unfortunately there’s no way for it to fit with the swing over tow bar.

Just curious. Does it fit with the swing bar and without the cover?

It won’t fit with the swing over horseshoe tow adapter and the tailgate up. At least I don’t believe it would even without a cover on the bed. The tonneau cover has a front mount area behind the cab that’s probably a few inches or so into the bed but even if you didn’t have that the swing over tow setup probably wouldn’t fit.

Not entirely sure on the networking and mapping between the two units, but the new 2nd version of these devices that just came out this last week to stores, all the way down to the 5 can now do the auto chart.

Garmin hasn’t tapped into the ice fishing market because the panoptix transducer needs a separate power source and is another thousand bucks on top of the unit already. Suppose that’s great if you’re already using it in your boat in the summer. Feature wise, the Garmin is tough to beat on its own. If you’re going to use the ice ducer from them, you have to get a head unit with CHIRP.

Check out the Woodland resort website, they usually have some pretty decent fishing reports. Hope you have tracks on what ever you’re going up with or taking snowmobiles. They probably have 2 to 3 feet of snow on top of the ice almost everywhere with the drifting.

Where does a guy find these smaller tanks without paying an arm and a leg for one?

FYI, in my research thus far, the Non CHIRP model does not work with the ice ducer. REEDs does have the CHRIP model for $630 though which is by far the cheapest I’ve seen anywhere.

Now I’ve come to learn from Garmin support that the ice ducer is not functional with the non CHRIP unit. Is that true?

This thread was started with regards to ice fishing with the Garmin GT8HW-IF Ice Fishing transducer. So if I want to use that transducer, do I need both of those adapters?

Wow, Garmin is certainly making this difficult. $120 transducer, $20 8 to 12 pin adapter AND a $17 4 to 8 pin adapter. Nothing like lugging around an extra 3 feet of cable.

What transducer are you running to pick this up? The marketing from Garmin makes it seem like all of the Panoptix functionality is for casting and front view, not trolling and a live view behind the boat.

I just scored a non CHIRP 73sv at Cabelas in East Grand Forks for only $450! Seems like a stellar deal if you ask me.

Hey Danny, thanks for the response! Do you need an adapter to hook up their ice ducer to the head unit? I’ve seen it along side the ice ducer on some websites but not sure if its necessary. What are you transporting it in? I’m trying to find a way to build something up and make a case for it. Cabelas has a hard base/shuttle for it but will probably need to get creative for a bag or something of the like.

If you’re someone casting a lot, Garmin with a Panoptix is really hard to beat. No other electronics are anywhere near that technology.
