I have a f115 also. I was told by two dealers to fill the 4.8 or so. These motors “make” a little oil over the course of the summer. I know that sounds odd but it’s what happens. Mine is 12 years old and runs like a top. Every year it ends up a little over full. A couple of YouTube videos say the same thing.

Not being there to see exactly how you load it sounds like you may have the trailer too far in the water. Try to just get the back back side of the fender wet. Drive the boat on slowly. Let it settle on the trailer after you touch it. Then push it up with the motor. You can have someone help direct nose of the boat into the front roller once you get it up that far. The boat doesn’t need to be exactly perfect either. A few inches one way or the other won’t hurt anything.
June 20, 2013 at 5:48 pm #1179015I love the updated posts on the Scatter Rap Challange page. You look away for a minute and the numbers jump by 10 fish. The vidoe clips from the boats are also very insightfull. I have to get out and try this lure out.
June 20, 2013 at 3:20 pm #1178963One time ice fishing with some friends they couldn’t catch a thing even when they fished in my hole. That night we sat and thought about it. They were putting lotion on their hands. The next day they skipped the lotion and caught fish. So I think stuff like soap and lotions do make a difference.
June 19, 2013 at 5:12 pm #1178774Don’t forget the mosquitos and flies. Couldn’t hardly be outside at night last weekend at the lake!
June 12, 2013 at 4:31 pm #1177373I had mine made at a local place that does truck tarps. It’s a little heavier than canvas but it wont’ ever leak or wear out! They built it with the bungee cord just like the orginal canvas one I had.
June 11, 2013 at 1:49 am #1176932I had a referral from my Internal Medicine doc. Did a partial sleep study and they said I was stopping breathing 25 times an hour and I was a shoe-in for a machine. My only ran $300 and change through my insurance. Been running fine for 11 years with a few tune ups. Nothing to mess with, it can kill you!
December 27, 2012 at 3:52 pm #1124348Had both, go with iPhone all the way. Wife got a new Samsung and she’s had too many issues with it. I hated Apple but now love their products. Heck I am even going to get an iMac when I get my next computer.
November 30, 2012 at 7:55 pm #1116460Tell him you want the anitvirus drugs. I hope you have some other momentary thing or a lite case. I was off work for two weeks last year. Here’s hoping for the best.
October 26, 2012 at 1:02 pm #1107760In the Detroit Lakes area we also Jig them depending on what the fish want that day. They are the go to tourney and fall minnow up here. Two weeks ago we were out and caught about 35 fish in the morning between 4 of us. Had to switch to rainbow chubs because the bait stores are out of redtails up here and only caught one northern after that.
February 7, 2012 at 8:09 pm #1036394I was watching a Jimmy Houston fishing show the other day and he has one mounted in his dash to spot bait fish while cruising the lake. Said it let’s him know what depth to start fishing at.
October 20, 2011 at 3:09 pm #1002919I like the Buddy heaters based on the fact that I don’t have to worry about buring holes in things like a Mr Heater quite as much. You can dial them down on warmer days. I have the Big Buddy heater with the 2 one pound tanks that usually takes care of us for the day in the Moorhead MN area unless it’s really windy and cold. I know this costs more but less stuff to deal with when the kids come with. It has the starter on the heater so we don’t need to remember anything extra to start them. Heaters and all the manmade fibers in a shelter make for a tough deal of warmth versus trying not to burn the place down.
October 19, 2011 at 1:18 pm #1002513We use one with a bench because of initial costs not knowing any better. I would definitely go with the swivel seats next time.
October 18, 2011 at 4:55 pm #1002304Randy I agree there is more open water to fish. But when it gets cold I hope for a little less snow and a little more cold. It wasn’t much fun for the individual guy to deal with and I can’t imagine having to deal with it all winter as a guide. The time and cost has got to be huge. I might have found a new career. Can’t worry about what hasn’t happened though just have to keep fishing till the ice gets here.
October 18, 2011 at 2:53 pm #1002257I am with Ryan. Let’s get cold and no snow. The lakes by Detroit Lakes have been a mess for 3 years with too much snow swamping the ice. When its -20 and you drill a hole and water is shooting out 18″ high its not my idea of fun.
March 18, 2011 at 3:08 pm #948447I bought the same motor you did last year. I would buy the 4th battery otherwise you may end up draining the starting battery by accident then you’ll be stuck on the lake/river. You can use the chargers you have, I did.
February 4, 2011 at 3:23 pm #933725Great idea that I will have to do too. Good time saver and you won’t forget things.
January 25, 2011 at 3:41 pm #930110I have used it and it seems fairly accurate. Not bad for the price!
November 10, 2009 at 3:04 pm #814973I use my Lowrance 135 and see stuff my 2 buddies don’t see on the flasher. They do make iceducers for these units, I have one. I would never go back to a noisy blinking thing when these work so well and you don’t need to buy an extra unit.
November 9, 2009 at 7:27 pm #814818I am from Moorhead and you can contact Ed “Backwater Eddy” Carlson at Gander Mountain in Fargo, ND. He’ll be able to get you the info you want. If you want more info on another site with Red River info on it send me a PM.
