Turn off the media. Cut the cord (TV/Cable) in 2011 haven’t looked back. For fun I sometimes do the simple math on how much I’ve saved without that bill over the years.

How do I learn about events. They get posted in places like this. Or I’ll flip through a few newspapers at the library just to read headlines. Usually just keep flipping. I’m now aware that something happened from this post on this topic.

Could research it on the internet more, but it’s a sad story, would rather find something positive to read on the internet as long as I’ve got the time to log-on.

Based on the time tracker on my phone my Facebook time has gone down severely compared to 2015. Don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Twitter, don’t have it book marked and typically don’t think to log-in anymore.

Less media, consumption, and passively ‘being fed’. More living )

Finally got all 3 credit bureaus frozen. The analogy at this point moving forward is, the Perp is still in my house (Experian) and I can’t get it back for 72 hours. Time to try and enjoy the rest of the day )

Bumping this as it’s still a mess out there. My Experian account was breached this morning. Locked/Froze my TransUnion and Equifax accounts but I’m still unable to get clarification and access to my Experian account. It appears whoever gained access already changed my security questions and pin. When I went to their account freeze page it won’t work and they want me to snail mail my ID and an electric bill with optional police report. Been on the phone 3 times with them today to try and resolve and still don’t have resolution other than them telling me to wait 72-hours and try to log back in. I have an “alert” set up but I’m unable to lock it. Hopefully the Fraud Alert I placed at Equifax moves across accounts.

There were a 1 year old pair that came across on Facebook marketplace the other day and were pending pickup in an hour. You can set up an alert for your local area to get notify if any get posted up.

They’re a great investment. I’m one year in with mine and couldn’t be more pleased!

Might need to RE pair the motor with your remote: You have to press and hold the pair button on the motor head the entire time before and during the point you push “pair” on the remote. When properly paired, three beeps will let you know it connected with the remote.

Did you completely cut power to the TM. Turn off boat power (TM breaker as well) and restart your entire system?

Try disconnecting your foot pedal and see if works with just the remote. Sometimes foot pedal can cause an issue.

I’ve heard of guys having their remotes fail in the first hour of use (not a common issue but heard enough stories to know it CAN happen). Try to find someone with a similar system and use/pair their remote temporarily to see if it works.

Best case is if it’s new it’s under 2 year warranty. A good certified Minn Kota shop will have you back in no time!

Good luck. Sorry you have to go through this instead of fishing.

Sorry I’m late to this thread, but was in the same mindset last season and did the Sportsmans Guide route. Just wanted to chime in to say you made a great decision in acquiring your Monster Box! Enjoy!

I keep a Noco Jump pack with when on the ice (I have the dongle pre-wired on the battery so I simply plug it in vs pulling plastics off to get to the terminals), starting it for 5 minutes every few hours is also smart

I installed the same thing this year on my Kodiak. Piece of mind and easy access should I need it. Keep the Noco inside the shack with me and make sure fully charged when leave the house. Had one close call WAAAYYY out on the lake after dark. Never want that hopeless feeling again!

Was hard to walk through and NOT see smiling faces!

If you pre-registered you got a nice gift bag coming through the doors including a $10 gift certificate to use for the day!

Lunch was enjoyable and ran into a few faces I hadn’t seen in awhile. Always great to catch up and talk fishing.

Jason Przekurat’s presentation on the New Era of jigging walleyes (shiver minnow technique) was a good one!

Talked to Justin Schneider (Wood and Water Insurance) about some underwriting/coverage questions.

Drooled on the WX2060 before I left )

I use a separate 9 Amp Battery (Vexilar model V-100) to power mine and run it inside my front Rhino box with alligator clips. I use a CLAM battery mount inside the box. Once fishing I unclip battery so there’s no drawing on that battery when not in use.

I use my boat graph and Ram mount so they get dual seasonal use. Waypoints stay with me without the transfer to handhelds and help me fine tune spots from season to season.

PM me if you plan to order from RAM mount directly and I can help you out a little.

+1 Jason Mitchell Meat Stick Rod. I use a 36″ outside and a 24″ inside. Great tip action at initial bite but then loads with the slightest lift to drive hook home by simply picking up the rod.

25 size will do you right for expanding into the other species you mentioned! Good luck!

If you fish in cold temps (late fall/early spring), go Terrova.

Mine is mounted EXACTLY the way MX shared in his photos. Mine was done by SBC as well.

The 14 1/4″ x 18 will help with your kicker (I have a Talon as well). If you go with the kicker and plan to fish with 2-3 passengers and have water in the livewell you’ll be wanting a F200. In hindsight, I’m wishing I would have maxed the HP out on my 2013 MX given how often I fish with others.
This is strictly coming from the perspective of hole shot. Not real worried about my top end speed.
    I’ve not yet tried a 4-blade.

Love my ’16 Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS as well! From ice fishing to plowing the driveway. I’ve been beyond satisfied with the machine itself. I’m also high on the dealer I work with in SE Wisconsin.

Congrats Crappie! I bet you physically felt the weight lifted from the debt.

Shortest path to wealth is having no debt of any kind.

If you’re getting a sizeable return by the way…I’m not a CPA… BUT you might want to sit down with one and/or your HR/payroll person as you’re getting too much taken out of your check. You should be getting a tiny return if any. Letting Uncle Sam borrow that money all year (interest free) and paying you back isn’t “Free Money” or a windfall that many people think it is. Your withholdings aren’t set up correctly. If you’re set up with steady pay (hourly or salary) you should be able to sit down with a professional to look at adjusting your W-4 to make sure you get what’s yours every pay period.

Yup, I run with no issues Bucky.

$90 for the investment, done thinking about it and it frees your mind up to worry about fishing. You’ve put a solution in place that will last as long as you own it, utilize it, and it works for your current boat.

Well worth it in my boat to keep $100+ rods off the floor and out of harms way.

    Thanks!

Also, does yours “spin” as some others have stated? I’m not sure exactly which specific model would fit in the floor pedestals in my boat without measuring…but I’m assuming not the “wedge” version which is shown in the pictures.

Yes mine is allowed to move and has a circular base (vs. the wedge). I turn it when running to offer less resistence (2 facing front vs. 4 wide). I generally keep it in this position when trolling with clients so I can organize my rods in the holders in the order that they get deployed once fishing. (4 on the left side and 4 on the right). When finished fishing we pick up back to front and stow rods accordingly.

I verified the size I needed with the guys at Skeeter Boat Center and went with their suggested measurement. Mine is currently in storage with boat or I’d verify mine for you.

I use that system for storing rods on trolling trips in my MX1825. Stole the idea from James. Works very very well! Rough water, long runs, etc. No worries! Will free up a ton of space for you and keep your rod/reel combo investments lasting longer without incident.

If I’m going to be Musky fishing with one other person aboard I’ll put casting rods in it and position it on the back deck while we both cast on the front. Again, keeps rods off the floor, baits that may be hanging are away from legs that may be walking a fish around, and you can easily swap rods and get back to casting.

Carpet has never been in the boat since day 1. When guiding, trolling, etc. I use $30 ergo rubber mats for comfort.
