Very good point and I completely understand your frustration. Lazy and inconsiderate would be a more accurate description of what you were dealing with. If you ask them they will claim to have already known about the spot and say that they were planning on fishing there anyway. This may be true but if they know about that spot they must have others that they could fish since you were already fishing this one. I don’t know about you but i prefer not to fish in a crowd so i try new spots all the time and pass up old reliable ones if someone is already there. What you described hasn’t happened to me in quite a while but i have had several run ins with very inconsiderate people, mostly on lake minnetonka, in the past and it drives me nuts. I used to confront them but have lost some of my fire and i just move on to something different. most of the people that do this will not be able to figure out what you were fishing or be able to find it again(even with a gps) or be able to catch a fish there so next time you come out it should be waiting for you.

    1. put wet fillets(use water or milk) into flour mixture – (flour, salt & pepper or any seasoned flour you like)

    2. Take coated fillets and drop them into egg wash (2 eggs mixed with 1/3 cup of milk)

    3. dredge fillets in Bella’s “Italian” Bread Crumbs – this is the key ingredient

fry in hot oil and butter mixture until golden brown

    GLOW TUBES!!
3″ or 4″ – 20 to 60 feet of water in January – we go to Ontario every year and tubes are the only thing we use. Blade baits like sonars are ok too but the tubes out produce every time. When you drop the tube down you can see the lakers coming on the Marcum – it’s awesome. Good luck.

I have a Zercom on the Skeeter that I purchased this spring and it is OK for reading depth but that is it. I used several Vexilar units and was happy until I used a Marcum a few years ago. Marcum has by far the best unit available and does not gouge you for every penny. The target seperation is better than any of the other units. I run a Marcum LX-1 on the front of my boat and I use it in the winter as well. It is the same unit as the more expensive LX-3 or LX-5 without the zoom feature which I never use anyway. The Marcum LX-3 worked great for me last year on Crow Lake in Ontario. We were fishing Lakers in 100 – 130 feet and i could see my blade bait on the flasher and the trout coming after it. The new LX-5 has more power which should perform even better. http://www.fishingprostore.com

I have been making all of my own lures for a couple of years now. It is fun and very gratifying when your own lures actually put fish in the boat and it’s cheap too. Stamina Inc. in Mpls is where I get all of my components, http://www.staminainc.com. Barlow’s is good but Stamina has some great soft plastics and the Rite Eye jigs are really nice.
