Another excellent resource for pet allergies in the Twin Cities area is Dr. Patrick McKeever who helped found the vet dermotology program at the UofM. We’ve seen him with 2 of our labs (both related) that had allergies and had good results. Feel free to PM me if you’d like more info on our experience.

Something to check would be the low pressure fuel pumps as the diaphragms in these can go bad. I had similar symptoms on my Yamaha on start up where the engine would smoke excessively and be loaded up till I cleared it w/ the throttle. It would also idle rough w/ a lot of exhaust smoke. Replacing lp pumps cleared up these issues and it only took about a half hour to replace them myself. Good luck. Let us know what the issue is when you get it figured out.

Could the broadband sounder module be what you’re trying to remember? My brother ran one prior to the HDS units and it definitely increased definition.
