October 18, 2024 at 10:40 am #2294656It wouldn’t surprise me if good ole Johnny Morris buys them unfortunately… I don’t think that would be a good thing at all…
October 4, 2024 at 11:44 am #2292309I will probably have a hard time making it to that neck of the woods anytime soon brandyman but if I can make it that way I will reach out.
October 4, 2024 at 11:02 am #2292302Heading up this afternoon. Heard about a problem bear around Gosh Dam when I was up about 2 weekends ago Glenn
October 1, 2024 at 1:04 pm #2291731Brandyman, what neck of the woods in West Central MN are you in? I have a 2017 and have a topper on it already but this looks slightly nicer than what I have today…
September 30, 2024 at 3:37 pm #2291534I wanted one when I was 18 but didn’t buy one until I was 24 or 25 and boy am I glad I didn’t have the money to get one when I was younger as I started with a new 2007 Suzuki GSXR 600 and that thing was way more than I was ready for, luckily I rode vary rarely after dark, never road without gear and never even after one beer so I was smart enough to be scared of it at that age that I would not have been at 18. Got rid of mine a few years ago and kind of curious to get back into a little basic dual sport that I can run some gravel roads with and some trails up north, kind of like Andy’s DRZ but newer and fuel injected.

September 26, 2024 at 11:07 am #2290870Thumper I was up there on the 14th and 15th and did ok, my neighbor was up last weekend and only fished for a day and didn’t do so great. I will likely be up again this weekend or next weekend and as much as I can thru the end of October and it should only get better. 2 weeks ago I was in 8 – 14 feet and was mostly using crawlers on a spinner or trolling raps and that will transition more to a jig and minnow bite as the temps drop. PM me if your looking for a bit more info.
September 26, 2024 at 8:18 am #2290852I will try to get a photo tonight or tomorrow Don. I have done a few modifications to my shorelander trailer over the years and all have proved to be helpfull.
September 25, 2024 at 3:00 pm #2290811Netguy, I think I have a similar trailer to you and I made a jack upgrade to it the first year or so and have been happy with it since. I found a heavier duty jack on a pontoon trailer at a dealership in the North metro and so I asked them to order me one and I had to remove that shorelander winch post, remove the old jack and install the new jack. The new jack has a larger wheel and dual pins that secure into the tilt adjustment holes and I had to bend the new pins slightly more to get them to align with the shorelander hole but otherwise an easy swap. It also moves around my garage much easier and handles the trialer weight better. I could take a photo of what I have if your interested. I don’t think I have a model number or anything from the package anymore as I did this around 10 years ago already.
September 17, 2024 at 4:15 pm #2289691I was on a large lake in central northern MN last weekend, water temps from about 68 to 70, and I caught plenty of fish. Primary options were pulling a bottom bouncer, spinner rig set up with a crawler and pulling shad raps. Primarily fished 8′ – 12′ depths. Pulled the spinners between .8 mph and 1.4 mph and pulled raps from 2.5 mph to 3.0 mph. Fishing will only get better as the temps drop. Rivers offer a lot of options also right now.
September 6, 2024 at 3:48 pm #2288370I was out for a fair amount of time Sunday and found fairly cooperative fish on the Southern stretch of the pool.
August 29, 2024 at 6:33 pm #2287412Joe’s just had an end of season sale and line was 50% off. I usually stock up on the commodity items when I know I can find a good price. I have also been lucky enough to stock up on some line I like for certain applications when it was discontinued. I have a lot of rods so I usually get years out of most line like Grubson.
August 22, 2024 at 2:16 pm #2286566Nice eye on a fly Rootski. I haven’t been down in a while but going to be on the Mississippi somewhere this weekend.
August 16, 2024 at 8:36 am #2285797I bought two 12 volts 100 ah heated LiTime batteries around a month ago but have not tested them yet. The price was really good around the 4th of July/Amazon Prime day. I will get the first use this weekend Matt.
August 13, 2024 at 5:32 pm #2285371I have been fairly lucky. I have lost two pairs of Oakley Sunglasses while on my the top of my head cruising to another spot, a box of rappalas going down the road and almost lost a St. Croix rod out of the back of my boat on the road as I was able to see it start to hover up in the boat cockpit in my truck rearview mirror due to grabbing air with a rod sleeve and I was able to pull over in time to not loose it. I think I have broken two rods in all my years of fishing.
Glad you had good insurance for your Mille Lacs event Jon.
August 8, 2024 at 3:52 pm #2284611The infamous “underboard” engine sounds like a great idea, put your jetski engine in an enclosure and hang it off the back of the boat. I wont ever be buying one.
Team Marine (from LaCrosse WI) has some good YouTube videos about it.
August 6, 2024 at 5:05 pm #2284386I just bought two heated lithium batteries and they explicitly say they want over 10 amps to charge partially to make sure that the heater gets enough power so I bought two 20 amp chargers for my two heated lithium batteries but that was specific to my battery and situation as I do plan to use mine in some cold weather.
I didn’t look into your batter specs but I would follow those requirements…
July 16, 2024 at 5:09 pm #2281305usmarine0352 from my read of shefland’s comment he removes the bucket handle and makes a rope harness to tie thru two new holes in the bucket to the cleat on the boat. I haven’t used a bucket before so I cant comment on its effectiveness and I am sure it depends on boat and motor combination. I first use my bow mount and then I use a small drift sock and have never had to look for other options.
May 24, 2024 at 1:33 pm #2274207I target slack water and seems. Not at all the same spots as normal water levels…
May 24, 2024 at 8:21 am #2274127Gerty,
I haven’t fished it near as much the past 10 years or so but I grew up on Bolfing Lake and my parents still live there. I traveled the whole chain in a 14′ alumacraft with a 9.9 so your rig will be fine. That time of year I am sure it will be busy and I would be targeting bass, pike and panfish or even cats if that is what you are into I usually wrapped up walleye fishing in early to mid June until the late fall. Your plan with weed edges is sound and you can also get eyes fishing for bass/pike. Trolling the weed lines can also be an easy way to pickup fish and cover ground.
May 6, 2024 at 5:10 pm #2271259I have 3 legacy units on my Pro V and I occasionally have a similar issue but mine is less than 50% of the time. In my network menu I can select from the networked temp sources from the 2 sources that I have so I always use transom temp first and then Terrova temp second, as one is always in the water and one isn’t.
April 24, 2024 at 4:23 pm #2269221Congrats Sharon. It was only a matter of time as you always put more effort in here than most and keep us in check..
