I just installed the new switch and now it all works thank God. So relieved the LSS-1 wasnt fried. So frustrating sometimes trying to figure out this electronic stuff. Now I have to get my dash board put back together. Thanks every one for the responses and help.
A few questions. I haven’t looked at the wiring in a while though.
Are you sure the dog had anything to do with it? Maybe it just busted on its own.
Broke = repairable
Busted = non-repairable.Why is there a switch in the circuit? And where is the switch in the circuit (positive or yellow)?
Btw, black is negative, not ground on a boat. There should not be a grounding plane like in a car, unless you have marine radio antenna, and then it is also isolated.
Have you tested for power on the leads enter the unit, after any connection, switches, or fuses? Then compared that power reading to before any connections, switches, or fuses?
I put a toggle switch in on the instrument panel so that Im able to shut the unit down when im done fishing otherwise it would be on all the time. My boat is a tiller so What happen was when i was fishing the dog gots all excited anytime a fish is caught so she was jumping around when i was reeling a fish in and in the process she hit the toggle switch and broke it off which also shut the structure scan off. I got a new switch and put it in but, couldnt get it to work. This all happened all late last summer so before I put the boat away for storage so I never played around with it. So this weekend I was monkeying around with it and noticed the unit isnt powering up at all. I checked for power everywhere including coming out at the connection and all seemed good. I bought a new switch yesterday so Im going to put that in today and hope and pray thats the problem. Worried that something happen to the lss-1 and may have to replace it. I hope thats not the case
I think there are 3 wires to power that unit. 1 pos I neg and one (not sure the color) is a trigger to turn it on.
After typing that it doesn’t make a ton of sense but that’s what I remember. What colors are all the wires?

Yes your correct there are 3 wires red yellow and black. The way I understand it is that the red is the positive or hot wire, black is the ground and yellow is for the accessories or axillary switch?
I sent action electronics a message on facebook so will see if I hear back. It doesnt make any sense though how it was working fine until the switch broke. I figured I had wired something wrong but, there seems to be power going through the cord. Going to get a different switch or try wire it directly to the battery just to see if it will power up.
How much are you considering paying?
I have one I am going to put on ebay in next week or 2
It’s is in perfect working order and will give a short period of time for buyer to get hooked up and see for themselves.
It will have gimble bracket
It can also have new power cord and new transducer if someone wants.
Not going to give it away though
I’ll probably be playing with boat next weekend so will take it out then
Boat and graphs have always been stored inside my heated shop so easy to get to
Mike
Is it a gen 1 or 2 and how much are you looking to get for it?
What generation are your units and what are looking to get for them?
Does it include the ducer and power cable, bracket and screen cover?
