I have the same boat. I never really thought about it before, but you are right that there is always some water in there when I’m on the lake. My problem with the rear live well is that it doesn’t fill up as far as I’d like it to.

Good report. Sounds like you had pretty similar results to what we had May 15th to the 18th. We only used lindy rigs with minnows and jigs with minnows though. Can’t wait to get back up there in a couple weeks.

We got up there last Wednesday night and fished for 4 days. For the boat, we caught about 45 walleyes over the 17 inches, 4 nice 16 inch range keepers and a few smaller ones. All the big fish were in about 12 to 14 FOW. We tried in deeper water for keepers, but only found 10 to 12 inch walleyes and saugers. We did get some really nice perch in about 25 FOW too. Most were caught on lindy rigs with fatheads, some on rainbow. Also caught some on a jig and minnow too. The best one was a 26 incher that my Dad caught, while my best was 24 inches. All in all it was another good trip. I’m headed up there again June 14th with my wife and another couple.

I hope that the ice goes out and you are able to get on the lake next Monday. I called up there last night and was told that the ice won’t be out by this weekend, but hopefully next week sometime. Of course they don’t know for sure. Based on that, I changed my plans and am going up on the 15th and plan to fish the 16th through the 18th. I have fished by wolf my first trip up there the last couple years. Did pretty good there 2 years ago. Good luck and maybe see you on the water.

I was up and fished Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning (8/10 to 8/12). We did OK. We caught mostly smaller fish and quite a few of those were saugers. We got enough to to bring home our 2 limits and had one nice meal. We caught almost all of the fish on a jig and a minnow. Our best day we caught them in 35 to 38 foot of water. Many of the fish we caught were in the 25 to 30 foot of water range too. We did catch a few fish over 17 inches, but not as many as usual.
    Hope that helps.

I talked with one of the resort owners on Kabby last night and that’s what they said too… along with saying there is no chance of it being out for the opener… We are moving our plans to next weekend and hoping it’s out by then.

I have an older 7.5 horse on my 175 Dominator and wouldn’t go any smaller than that. Would really like to upgrade to the Yamaha 8 or 9.9

Last I heard about a week ago, the walleyes were on the reefs and lindy rigs with leeches were working better than jigs.

The Rocky Ledge has very good food. The Woodland up the road in Ray isn’t bad either. I think the Bait and Bite is pretty good, but I haven’t eaten there in a few years.

I’m very happy with the one that I got last year for my Alumacraft Dominator from Dave’s Canvas in Lake City.
