You forgot the probably ridiculous price.

Yeap its pricey alright at $109

But if its quality and does what it supposed to it’ll be worth it. Still cheaper then my open water spinning reels and baitcasters.

The black Betty was $99 and wasn’t worth a crap unless I stripped it and did some machining work to it. Doubtful this one will be any different. 13 fishing needs to keep better tabs on its quality control.

As soon as the 6061 came out all we saw here was posts on how to tweak it, fix it and re-assemble it and lots of excuses from 13 fishing on why we should give them a pass. I won’t be sending even more money there way with this one.

is this a minnesota based company? I’m all for supporting the home team. How is the customer service would be my question? Someone mentioned the shorter warranty but IMO that doesnt really matter to me as long as the customer service is top notch.

They’re in WI. Doesn’t matter though as the rods are just imported from China. If you want to support a local company from WI St. Croix would get my vote hands down. As for Limit Creek they have the shortest warranty of any rod company out there and the service is horrible unless you count answering the phone quickly and giving you a NO-HECK NO response to a broken rod. The guy I talked to wouldn’t do anything for me which had me very peeved about the whole deal. And the more I asked around about the Limit Creek rods the more I heard about cronic breaking issues. At one bait shop these rods are known as cripple creek rods due to the rash of broken rods. The owners business model is to give rods away at a discount to average joe anglers that post on fishing boards hoping to get them to talk them up. Buyers BEWARE!

I cannot disagree with your commercial more strongly. My experiences with Limit Creek rods has seen two smoothies bust between the 2nd and 3rd eye under light load. These rods are made in china and have bad quality control and the warranty is years shorter than rods with better quality at the same price point. I know you’re buddies with Turk and he gives you a discount on rods so you have to say what you have to say but in my opinion there’s better rods available out there for less money. My 2 cents.

Besides being a horrible idea that would likely result in HIGH mortality rates given the time of year isn’t it illegal to livewell fish, drag them around and release them later?

I think it would be fun. Not much of a fishing tool but it would be great picking up things on the lake bed.

I know, I have lost gear before & this thing would have got it back. Still pissed I lost grandpa rod years ago..

Dude you could hire a professional diver for multiple days should you find yourself actually needing to retrieve something you dropped overboard.

Wow… Thanks guys.. I did not know that this was a Marcum only forum…

Marcum only forum? I’d call it more of a NO BS Zone where the average member is a pretty good fisherman and unlikely to be impressed by garbage products.

I’ve owned cameras since Aquaview first came out with them and I’d buy another if they’d actually do something, anything!!!!!!!!, to try and keep up with MarCum and to some degree Vexilar. Aquaview has been left in the dust and this is their new release to recapture their position?!?!?!?! Don’t try and blame our response on the other camera manufacturers. That’s bull. This one is on aquaview plain and simple. The claw is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen and all I’m doing is calling a spade a spade. PEace out.

If by awesome you mean dumb, yeah, then I agree. As a guy that keeps waiting for aquaview to try and retake their place as the top manufacturer of underwater cameras I’m left speechless wondering when we’ll see better cameras instead of gimmicks. What the heck would you do with it besides pick up stuff you’re dumb enough to drop down the hole or over the side of your boat? You’d have to be the clumsiest guy ever to pay back something like that. Now if you work at a golf course retrieving balls and you didn’t want to get in the water I could see it but for the fisherman??????????? All I’ve got to say is when do we get improved cameras and monitors on products we can actually use while FISHING?!

I think you SHOULD sell everything. You obviously aren’t in touch with the connection you had and lost or maybe never understood you had with fishing and the outdoors. I say this not to be hurtful, only to hurry you back towards a possible and eventual happiness out on the water. Nothing clears the mind and lines up priorities faster than losing something. Even if you give or throw it away yourself. Having to build yourself back to where you are now, one lure at a time, will make the journey all the more meaningful to you. And once you have returned, you will never take it for granted again.

Or you can take your boat and park it on a beach. Throw out a worm on the bottom and relax while trying to take in the real reason being on the water is so attractive to you and I promise you its not the size and number of fish you catch.

Your stuff sounds good but your post comes off way too long with too many questions with too much hype. I like this site because we don’t get barraged by this type of thing too much. I’m open to hearing more I guess. You might want to get with H2O about even posting this.
