I will try to remember to try mine after I get home from the dentist.
May 15, 2024 at 7:04 am #2272600I tow my pontoon everywhere. Usually an hour each way 2 or 3 times a month. I’ve had it 9 years and I’m on my second bunk trailer. I have used a scissors style and they are great for everything except for actually towing. Most pontoon trailers and boat trailers for that matter are made to minimum standards. I ended up driving from Minnesota to Indiana to get my forever trailer after doing a bunch of research. Ended up with twice the trailer for the same $ as was available local. Check trailers for pontoons.Com they are a part of pontoonstuff.com and the customer service on both of those is awesome!
March 23, 2024 at 5:59 pm #2263001That’s what happens when it’s illegal for the kids to ride in the bed. If ya could still put em in the back ya wouldn’t need 4 doors and you could still have a real truck with an 8′ bed like mine. It sure is nice being able to shut the tailgate on a piece of plywood.
March 23, 2024 at 5:42 pm #2263000I run a 27 for my starting battery, a pair of 27’s for my house battery’s for lights screens and pumps then a pair of 31’s for my trolling motor. Seemed like overkill but I always have enough juice.
February 17, 2024 at 10:19 pm #2254789When I played paintball I had this bow attachment that shot paintballs like an arrow with one draw and release for each paintball. I was getting 300 fps at a 65lb draw. Can’t use a release due to rate of fire. I just wore a thin glove and had no problems. You can also get in more practice shots and makes you real good at natural point of aim because with the goggles you can’t use a peep sight. And all without the exercise of walking and pulling arrows.
January 21, 2024 at 8:22 pm #2249290All the lovers and haters go check out edison motors on YouTube. They have it figured out. They just made their first diesel electric hybrid, works like a locomotive. They are able to use a smaller 9 liter engine to run A generator that charges the battery’s. They get twice the mpg. using A 300hp CAT engine is able to turn the 700 up and 80,000 pound feet of torque e axles. They are also starting to work on a similar conversion for 1 ton trucks. They think the cost of the pickup conversion will be about the half the cost of a new truck. All designed by truck drivers and mechanics who want you to be able to work on your own stuff.
November 26, 2023 at 12:26 pm #2237951I got $50 off an atlas bipod at Brownells and some stuff discounted at MDT.
October 9, 2023 at 10:52 am #2229074If you want a test pilot I will volunteer! It should be a sweet little ride?
September 28, 2023 at 7:33 pm #2226898I went the opposite direction and got a couple horse bows. Now I am learning traditional style with no rest or shelf or knock and using a thumb release lol. I thought it would be easier to get the hang of since it didn’t take long to figure out how to shoot instinctive with my paintball set up on my compound. I was wrong about that.
September 7, 2023 at 7:16 pm #2223029I have used fluid film, nhou undercoating and woolwax. Fluid film is the thinnest and strongest smelling but available at O’Reilly’s in spray cans makes it the most convenient. Nhou is thicker and has a better creep and less smell but will wash off like fluid film with tire spray. Woolwax has the creep but doesn’t wash off with road spray and I didn’t even have to touch it up this spring. I got spray guns with cavity hoses and pulled door panels and flushed all the dirt from all cavities and known rust points. I got a rust free 03 Tahoe in may 2020 and and it’s my daily driver. After 3 Minnesota winters it has less rust than a new vehicle that hasn’t seen a winter yet. I’m a mechanic so I ues the hoist and air compressor at work. You can buy the better guns and a couple gallons of the stuff for 2-$300 and it keeps bolts from rusting up too.
September 5, 2023 at 8:44 pm #2222720It’s rusted beyond repair. The rust caused the crack therefore not enough solid steel left to weld or bolt to. And the rust will also make it cost prohibitive to do a frame swap. Best option is to sell it as a parts truck.
August 31, 2023 at 7:51 pm #2221934It depends on how your current axle is mounted. If it’s an adjustable axle meaning you can slide it forward and back it is a fairly easy modification to add a second axle. However if the shackle mounts are welded to the frame those would need to get cut off then it’s still not hard. Just build a double slider mount. 2 pieces of angle iron weld the shackle mounts to them to mount the springs and weld up some fender mounts then attach with 3 u bolts per side then add axles and wheels.
August 11, 2023 at 8:51 pm #2218534I got to shoot a siaga 12 with a giggle switch at ahlmans gun show a few years ago and I think that with some nice little chainsaw and flamethrower attachments would be just about right for in home protection. The flamethrower is for spiders of course.
August 11, 2023 at 8:26 pm #2218532The Toyota trucks rust out underneath much faster than any other vehicle sold in the USA. That’s the only downside. Just get it undercoated really really well and it will last forever.
July 21, 2023 at 7:38 pm #2214631Going from the 19 to the 21 with a better hole shot and less top speed is baffling and a 4 blade would be more like a 22 or 23 pitch equivalent from what I have read and experienced. Was the diameter smaller? A 4 blade on it’s own will run smoother have a better hole shot and have better slow speed handling. I think you would have to be running at least 750 rpm slower or more to lose that much top end. Even then in my experience I. Went from a 15 pitch and 22 mph at 5000 rpm to a 13 pitch at 19 mph and 5500 rpm. But I am polish so my view of things is usually bass akwards.
July 3, 2023 at 5:08 pm #2211832Everyone on this site is a decent person, but the humor and remarks in it is more like working in the trades than a office job. It’s like we are all siblings and you must leave your feelings at the door.
June 5, 2023 at 2:26 pm #2206678I have a 60″ sock I tried on my 22′ toon. It will get me down to .4 mph from 3 mph without. Definitely works better between the tubes than behind the boat. I bought mint to help keep the boat straight when anchored on the river but it is too big for that using anchors that can be pulled by hand.
June 5, 2023 at 2:18 pm #2206676I think that the our for fathers in 1775 were better represented for their taxes by the king of England than we are now in a modern “free” society.
May 29, 2023 at 5:25 pm #2205415I have a harbor freight electric 3200 psi 2.1 gal per minute it won’t peel paint unless you hit a bad spot and then it will keep going through. The best ones are the big hot tank ones. Maybe try hooking up to a hot water supply and get a foam cannon for the ultimate lazy man’s carwash. Then just drive fast to dry it off.
May 20, 2023 at 9:14 pm #2203873I use a small split shot sinker 6-12″ above a small flu flu or tube jig and the slip bobber size depends on the distance required and water conditions. If it can’t be cought on a flu flu or a tube jig it’s not a fish I want to meet.
May 1, 2023 at 5:27 pm #2200217I didn’t oil the bottom of mine but I think I should have and might still do it if I get motivated.
April 16, 2023 at 9:21 am #2196179That’s really cool stuff! Sounds like a fun job most of the time. I probably should have gone into that instead of auto repair, but then I would just have different engineers to curse.
April 4, 2023 at 9:18 pm #2193429Hey I must point out that you are incorrect. You can indeed go fishing with zero plastic involved. Rod and reel fishing was around long before plastic was invented. Same goes for the boat. If it can’t be recycled is it worth the convenience is the question.
April 3, 2023 at 1:47 pm #2193020Rose anvil on YouTube does a lot of boot and shoe reviews and he actually cuts them in half so you can see exactly what you’re getting and how they are constructed along with puncture testing.
April 2, 2023 at 1:04 pm #2192841I have the same size feet and the LL bean moccasin style work for me. Decent sole for walking outside and my last pair lasted 15 years.
April 2, 2023 at 12:56 pm #2192840I don’t know what you consider quality or what kind of price point you are going for but I have finally found real quality made in USA tough a#s comfortable boots. 3 companies to choose from,
JK boots
FRANKS BOOTS
NICKS BOOTS
Made to fit you in whatever leather you choose with whatever vibram some you choose and whatever safety toe you choose. I have 2 pairs of JK boots and my next pair will be a nicks or franks just to spread the love around. I was a redwing guy until they discontinued the 2 styles I liked and then started making over half of their line in china. I have tried a lot of different boots in my time and have almost always been disappointed. No disappointment with JK boots!
