Mnlakecams will post it once they get their dock in this season.

Sorry guys but the Water Temps aren’t going to happen this year. The system I used became a real hassle to maintain remotely (I’m in the Twin Cities) and I’ve decided to discontinue it.

    That’s a big rock, I’d think maybe 8-10″.

Brad’s neighbor, Tim Ajax, was on the flats that day and he said it was one of the worst East winds he’s seen.

Would it be possible (with a custom cable) to feed the video from a Marcum underwater camera to the POV recording unit?

If so, Marcum or V.I.O. should produce and sell one.

I’m also a coffee geek. I think I’ve tried about everything but best thing I’ve found lately for brewing coffee is the Clever Coffee Dripper from Sweet Maria’s. gt

you can also wait a couple weeks and go to hay days in lino lakes and pick up as much as you want very cheap. you can even get pretty colors like pink and light blue if thats your thing. it wont have pre drilled holes but its workable and a lot cheaper.

Can you say a little more about getting these at Hay Days? Like are they sold at the swap meet or something else?

Pulling walleyes out of 2′ of water with mid to high 70 degree water temps in August every year on Mille Lacs. (Bobber fishing).

    Adam,

What years were you doing this? I had a lot of good luck doing that in the 1980s but not much since.

That style jig was fairly common when I moved to MN in 1968. I use to buy them at a Phillips 66 station in Hudson and go cast for walleyes from shore out by the RR swing bridge. I think they called them Wonder Dudes or Super Dudes, I can’t remember. Dang simple fishing compared to what I do now days – One pole, 3 jigs, and a rope stringer.

I found these in a garage sale in Columbia Heights 6-8 years ago. gt

The bite has been off because of a HUGE perch bloom. Nothing more.

    BIRDDOG

But BIRDDOG, don’t you think the perch bloom would get reduced sooner if the bands hadn’t netted 100K lbs of predators before the season started?

Tribal harvest, while previously capped at 100,000 pounds of walleyes since 2002, hasn’t surpassed 90,000 pounds. In fact, only twice has tribal harvest exceeded 80,000 pounds of walleyes – last year and in 2005.

    Brad,

Could you post the source for your data in the above quote box?

    Thanks gt

Remember, that since the taking of 140,000 lbs is not a conservation, public health, or public safety issue, we have little recourse but to accept it at this time.

I guess I would like to ask Rick if there’s anything other than “conservation, public health, or a public safety issue” that could ever change the fact that the band simply says what part of the safe harvest poundage they’ll take (which I think up to 50%) and the state fisherman get the rest.

I have heard of some all over the state. Most recently up near Lake of the Woods, but I know a few of the Dodge County Deputy’s and they told me that they have been called to residents for a large cat in the past. Most of the sightings have been on the Dodge/Goodhue boarder north of Mantorville.

First, the Mille Lacs band has no say in the matter. Google up GLIFWC. It’s a territory deal, not state lines. Like I said, the Mille Lacs band is not the enemy here….

But Jon, don’t forget who started all of this.

1990 – The Mille Lacs Band sues the State claiming harvest rights in the 1837 Treaty ceded territory, which lies immediately to the south of the 1854 ceded territory.

Just curious, is the webcam and digital temp you mention from Hunter’s Point or are there other links with info like this?

    Thanks gt

I drove into the Cove Bay access about a week ago looking for the gauge but I didn’t see anything that looked like a gauge.
