The commodity prices of crude and gasoline haven’t really moved in months.
I am almost 6 months out now. I have ditched my walking stick when pheasant hunting, and I am continuing to improve. I may not be walking at my former speed on rough ground but other than that and steep inclines it really isn’t much of a limiting factor anymore. I was slightly worried about my foot getting cold, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Make sure your surgeon has years of experience in ankle replacement and your PT person has experience also.
I don’t know if they explained it to you or not, but at least part of the reason for the long recovery time is that the implant is made of a porous titanium that your bone has to grow in to.
Fleet in Alexandria is about the same. Last Saturday morning, there was two lanes open and they kept telling the ones in the back of the line to go to the service counter. I was in line for 10 minutes for 2 items.
The Walmart was just as bad.Unfortunately, they don’t care that you you walked out either, leave a bad review, that might help.
Have they organized the ammo section in that store yet? The last time It was a mess, and different calibers were scattered throughout the ammo shelves.
Gunbroker shows some but they are aftermarket, spendy, and don’t look that good. https://www.gunbroker.com/Gun-Parts/search?Keywords=7400%207600%20magazines&Sort=13
The 7600 uses the same magazines as the 760, and also the 740, 742, and 7400. There are 2 different lengths. One for 243 and 308. The other ones fit the 270, 30-06, and 280.
Personally, in the lower end of the price spectrum, but still high-quality, I like the Leupold VX1 and the Burris Fullfield.
Be sure when installing the scope to use blue Loctite on screws and to torque to manufacturer’s specs. I work range duty at the gun club and I’d say 80% of the problems we see during deer season sight-in mayham season are due to loose scope rings and bases.
Some guns come with bases installed. Take those off the gun and degrease them and reinstall.
That is the pillow that is popular with the Facebook group. The doctor did not make any specific recommendations.
I think my recovery went as well as a person can expect. There are people that don’t do as well either. There are risks to any surgery but, not doing the things I really enjoy doing wasn’t an option.
You will need one of these. KingPavonini 4-Height Adjustable… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BB9SSTJK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
My surgery was June 19th. I launched my own boat and went fishing just after Labor Day.
I am really glad I had it done. I kind of wanted to wait another year but it was getting worse and I did not want to become inactive. Walking on tough ground or on even a slight slope where my right foot was higher than my left was very uncomfortable.
I had a nerve block that lasted 24 hours and then about 36 hours of Tramadol or Norco. I haven’t even had a Tylenol since. Your mileage may vary. I had a 530 show time for my surgery and left the hospital at about 11. He also did a procedure to lengthen my Achilles tendon. The first two weeks I was in a cast/splint. Then I was in a boot.
I mostly used a knee scooter. A walker, crutches, and a walking stick came in handy at various times. I would recommend a shower chair and a toilet riser. Over the calf socks helped make the boot more comfortable. The urinal I use in the boat also came in handy.
While I was recovering I also watched what I ate. I did leg lifts and some weights with my arms. I would recommend leaving some simple projects accessible. Organizing tackle, replacing line on fishing poles, knife sharpening, going to the gun range…etc. They also let me ride my electric bike at 6 weeks.
Any questions, just ask.
I had my right ankle replaced June 19th. A year ago I hadn’t even heard of ankle replacement. There are a couple of ankle replacement Facebook groups. They were very helpful. Keep in mind that different surgeons have different protocols.
I am glad I did it inthe summer and was able to walk outside when the time came. The first 2 to 4 weeks you have your foot elevated with your toes above your nose 90 percent of the time. I started partial weight bearing and driving at 6 weeks. Full weight bearing at 10 or so weeks. The first couple of times driving, my left foot was ready to hit the brake. I was off work for 13 weeks or so. I am on my feet a lot at work.
It can take a year to really recover. I have been pheasant hunting regularly now with a walking stick in one hand, most of the time and the gun in the other.
To be continued.
I have had good luck with the Federal Trophy Copper, now Freight Train Copper. A lot of people like the Remington Accutips.
I do think the one thing the kids coming into the sport will have is less pressured public. 5-10 years from now a lot of guys will age out and not many are replacing. I have noticed that a ton with late season. Not many of those folks can handle the below 0 weather. The other thing they will miss is over the counter non resident tags. Those are slowly going away.
The median age of deer hunters in MN and WI is around 60. Things are going to look quite different in 10-15 years when half the people deer hunting now age-out of it.
I just saw a new bare bones 1436 jon boat. No motor or trailer. $2300 Seems kind of spendy to me.
Altitiude? Mountains or prairie?
To me a lot of controlling temperature is your head and neck. I usually use a ball cap with a stocking cap over it. I carry a thin face mask and neck gaiter in colder weather. You can be walking and plenty warm and then stop and glass in the wind and be cold.
4 years ago, there was barely a boat or ATV to be found on the lot. That will lead to some kind of correction. My local online marketplace is flooded with boats. It has probably been a long time since some of them have seen the water. The companies also got used to high profits. Now interest rates are up Maybe someone at a dealer can tell us how many people do the 12 to 20-year financing on toys?
I wonder also if the boomer generation is aging out of their toys? They don’t use them anymore and the number of young people replacing them in outdoor activities isn’t as high. An example, the average age of deer hunters is about 60. Deer hunting could look very different in a few years.
I just want to give a quick shoutout for Backyard Burger in Brooten. It is the old drive-in on the east side of town. They have some real good burgers made with meat from a local shop. The cheese curds were probably the best I have had outside of the best curds from the fair. I didn’t feel overcharged.
The way I understand the bill is that the days of tagging big game will be over. It is going to be a matter of validating your kill/license.
It will be interesting how this plays out in the future. Having to intentionally subscribe to and pay for a streaming service is going to alienate marginal fans and new fans are not going to be brought in.
Are they going to ruin their future star QB with their weak O line before he even has a chance?

Utah is going to win a Stanley Cup before the State of Hockey does.California Nevada Texas and Florida did so why would Utah be any different
Utah is getting a nice little care package of players, prospects, draft picks, and cap space from Arizona. I’d say for sure better than Seattle ended up with and not quite on par with Vegas.
And North Carolina.
Utah is going to win a Stanley Cup before the State of Hockey does.
Aren’t you also protecting the assets in the event that someone enters the nursing home? They can seize assets to pay for care, which can be really spendy.
Eide Ford in Bismarck has 5 in transit. XLT Chrome Supercrew with 6.5’box. You can filter by wheelbase. 157″ are the ones you are looking for.
I run a 2020 alumacraft voyager tiller. I like the extra room and storage the tiller gives me.
the layout just works for my style of fishing.
I have a 2019. Two 8-foot rod lockers. I love it.
Cleats. A few years ago I went without, feet went out from under me and mashed the back of my head on the ice. Ended up knocked out, with a concussion and took a trip to the emergency room.
I actually bought a snowboard helmet. Cleats don’t seem to be a sure thing.
Every 2 months. I think I am at about 6 gallons. Giving a unit of blood is a loss of 550 calories.
Pre-covid I browsed trucks online. Eide Ford in Bismarck was the only one I remember that filtered by wheelbase. They have 5 F150 crew cabs in stock now with the 6.5′ bed.
I got a 21 Tundra (last of the V8s) double cab with a 6.5′ bed. You can put an adult in the back seat, but it is less than optimal for a long trip. The dog is the only one who rides in the back seat 99.999% of the time. Prior to that I had a Tacoma and a 6ft bed. I managed but not ideal.
I agree that a 5.5′ bed doesn’t cut it particularly with ice fishing sleds/houses and summer long rods.
It forgets my login and slow loads/locks up regularly.
With the login issue it sometimes helps if I click a different heading or section for it to remember.
That is what mine used to do. Then it decided to lock me out completely. I just made a new profile.
My Midco was 200 a month including internet. I switched my internet to the local co-op for 60 a month. They also hand out rebate checks every year so it will actually cost less than that. I pay for Youtube TV, Peacock, and Frndly. I am definitely money ahead. I should have done this sooner.
