Pat stepped up and did an awesome show catching sturgeon!! Never seen that before was really cool. Pat did a great job too!!
Was a great show and with the brutal conditions just top notch! I was out and we managed only 1 eye but stayed comfortably in the otter flip over. Wish i would have thought about the ‘ol jig an minnow! What size jigs were those James?
Yes we were past Hennepin in a gravel bar i believe about 2 miles out
So when they are done transitioning and fully into summer patterns where can I expect to find them?
Will consider Lyons sleepers I guess it’s not too hard to bring the gear. Do you catch a lot of eyes or mostly sauger in January?
Flip over x2 lIke big_g said they are more portable a hub is not difficult to setup and take down but doing it over and over again on the same outing can be exhausting so if your searching for lots of different spots and moving often flip over for sure if you know where you are going and planning on staying put a hub is the way to go much more space inside and like I said setting them up is easy just not over and over again every 30 minutes.
Lots of good deals and I also scored some nice freebies. With the LX-3 I bought I got a cap, and winter hat and a tackle bag. The TUCR rods were on a show special and with rod purchase I got a great discount on an Otter Box rod case.
Frabill was giving out some good stuff, and there were tons of free stickers and stuff like that. I bought my flasher at Joe’s and their price was the best I could find. They also had 20% off most everything else. Reed’s also had some great prices. I got a great quote on a flip over shelter but decided not to buy it.
Which one and how much!?
After having the 9 and 7 I love the 6 much smaller easier to haul and lighter great flasher! At first I was all like gotta have the biggest screen and resolution…then hauling was a pain with all the other crap I got the 6 fits in perfect
Was lucky enough to get today off to go to lake Dubay and catch some foot long crappie!
So out fishing yesterday morning heater worked good only time it went out was when the tank was empty went through 2 one pounders in about 4 hours going to have to start using the 20lb tanks. But it worked ok
No problem completely understand.I hear a rumor you are coming over here to film with Adam cant wait for that one! Just love it when your in my neck of the woods.
Personally 32″ TUCR Precision split grip. I can do everything with that one rod from fishing light spoons to #4 Ripping Raps.
Sedona 500FD
4# line (still working on finding the ultimate choice)

I hope you guys will have some good deals on this at the St Paul ice show or maybe just for the IDO community
No, a 20# tank. What was happening is by turning off my heater at the unit its self propane and air was freezing up the line and wouldn’t ignite or stay lit if it did. Now, when I’m getting ready to leave, the first thing I do is shut off the tank and let all of the residual propane and air burn off while I am packing up and the next time I use it, it starts right up. This started at the beginning of last season, 1st couple of times out, then after figuring this out not a single problem the next 25+ times.
Im using the 1 pounders but think that’s what happened i got it going and unscrewed the tank while it was on did that a few times and seems ok now going out tomorrow to wet a line and will test it for a good while
I had the same problem last year. Although I use a big buddy heater, the same situation kept happening to me. What I ended up doing is putting a filter on the unit. I still had the same problem until I realized that when I was packing up for the night I was turning the heater off at the unit, so I started turning the unit off at the propane tank and I have not had the problem again. I go out on West Rush lake every Friday night after work so I worked the heck out of my heater and still have not had the problem reoccur.
Are you using 1# tanks?
The fully insulated Otter Lodges were the most popular house last year… I’m sure there will still be some available but as supplies got low and only a few retailers had stock left the deals weren’t as good by Saturday at noon. Stop by the a Ice force booth and they’ll keep track of who’s still got stock left.
First stop!
I was just watching you and will on upper red 12/16/12 on you tube when I saw your reply lol great show too.
Really! Not coming over till Saturday as I work on Friday gonna have to leave mighty early Saturday morning
No batteries like the cold. Lithium batteries are no exception but as far as batteries go lithium is the way to go with more capacity for amp hours per weight and no memory effect makes it better right there but lithium takes it up a notch with the ability to be recharged a LOT more than others almost twice as much and with lithium you get full power till it dies downside costs more.
We will be there it is a fun show and I think the biggest by far in the industry.
Come check us out.
Planning on it. Looking for a walleye rod to go with a new otter lodge
@ Peter Redin I completely understand about the sensory overload all the guys at the booths must see this a lot and laugh I’m sure I will do the same!
