Thanks Jon Hi, I’ve had MRI, Cat Scans, xrays, PT, Chiropractic, two failed steroid injections, decompression. It seems to get really bad if I drive my pickup mote then 2 hours.Recently i was managing the pain with just ibuprofen but then drove over to Stewart MN to drop my boat and then drove to Rochester MN for a weekend photoshoot. This reaggaravated my pain and I could hardly walk. So there is a corelation between hours in my F150 and severe pain.

Have/has anyone with lower back pain found that driving/sitting in a van’s captain’s chair made a difference?

I usually take my wallet out when driving, no sciatica leg pain, all lower back pain. Trouble laying flat in bed.

Figure out a way to mount a Minnkota Vantage on the front. With all the added weight of the motor + batteries and everything I don’t know how “portable” this thing is going to end up being.

Have you looked for a Facebook group for this yet? I’m guessing somebody somewhere has already done what you are trying to do.

I hear you. Thought I’d use one 12volt lithium battery. The pontoons fit into one heavy bag and the decks and rails in two others.those bags are 16in by 12in and five foot long. Most inflatables you sit in not on. It’s an experiment! lol

I want to use a transom mount bracket with a foot control TM in it. And mount it on the front of the pontoon. There isn’t a foundation/deck to mount a traditional bow mount bracket and I need it to be easily detachable for removal. The purpose of putting this rig together, is that it can carry 2-3, can be easily packed up in a car/truck or camping trailer. Takes about 20 minutes to assemble.

Thanks all, rig is in the shop. Bent prop, they’re going to disassemble the lower unit on Wednesday.

There is more to our closed seasons than biological issues. Resorts, bait shops, bars and restaurants all benefit from predictability.

Yes, I’m sure some guy will complain to his legislator or lakeshore Assn will find a reason to protest. What I’d like help with is getting a year round harvest season on small Pike in the Central Zone. Our walleye stocking program is just meals on wheels for sm pike

The year round bass season is proceeding, the Commissioner approves and it is in the hands of the higher ups. Not surprisingly there are social issues needing to be addressed. Docks (aren’t a big issue), enforcement, interstate and tribal coordination. Good conservation is the wise management of resources and there are many moving parts to these types of actions. It could happen in 25, more likely in 26.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I appreciate them and will use them to better define my search. It’s also been suggested a 5th wheel that could also pull my boat. But that means a new truck.

New to motor homes, I heard gas engines are popular. Under 70,000 miles. Still has some life left.

Bucky, just out of curiosity what have the DNR sampling, lift and trap net results been for walleye and small pike? In many central mn lakes, over the past 20 years we have seen an inverse in numbers?

Hmmm, I’ve looked for diet studies that might support the idea that Smallies have more of an impact on walleyes than other fish. Diet studies on Smallies show reliance on crawfish. Not to say that all fish prey on each other. However the biggest factor in walleye numbers are increases in small pike. This is the rational for the MN central zone pike regs. It’s an attempt to reduce small pike by keeping the 21-23 inch pike in the system. They are the biggest small pike eaters. The more we can harvest under the slot, the greater the benefit to walleye production.

Good question, another is “ Why is there a season?”. All surrounding States have year round. The Mn DNR can give no biological or scientific reason not to. Bass will do better with climate changes than walleyes or Pike and have been expanding in density, recruitment and population numbers in MN lakes. The myth that it is closed to protect the spawn isn’t supported since since 1966 the regular opener has been before or during spawn especially in central and northern MN

The only Spring C&R for Bass is from the walleye opener until May 25th. It becomes a C&R and harvest season then,

3R, this topic has come up every year. I don’t see the DNR or Legislature having any interest in licensing guides. But it is an attention getter. It’s most impossible to get anglers to focus on actual problems and solutions. They usually only bite on the sound bites

The All Recipes chili is similar to my own concoction. I use venison or chuck roast, I simmer it in the chili then shred it when it’s soft.

Mike not in any topic, only in a few side comments. My sense is that the recent changes need to play out for a couple years. Just my opinion.

I’ve needed warranty work a number of times and they always came through, even three years later. Had some problems getting the bifocal in the right place but they kept at it. Then one of the lenses kept popping out. But as I said, they were 100% true to the warranty. I’d purchase again.

One would think that if they had a vessel that went up and removed them, that it could be used to bring them back.

There is a major concern about the sandbar at Afton. Without it being marked there will be problems.

I heard it was because they determined that it wasn’t navigational waters? Doesn’t make sense.

One advantage might be that with the popularity of “Boat Clubs” that put inexperienced operators out there, is that it might give them the basics?

So how much for Accesses and how much for hatcheries? The ask was 50,000 for hatcheries.

I went with 3 50amp Ionics. Getting 3 days of 4-6 hours fishing. Wish I had gotten the 100’s. No problems in 22 but this year one of the won’t wake up (did everything the Ionic technician said to do) they sent me a shipping label, and it’s on its way back. Good customer service

#1 we have been legally opening the Bass season during spawn since a closed season was established. There is no evidence that this has reduced density or recruitment of Lg or Sm Bass.
#2 With the exception of Muskie’s there is no biological, recruitment or scientific reason not to keep Walleye season open year round.
#3 the best way to improve Walleye fishing in MN is to increase harvest of small pike.
#4 Anyone who believes otherwise will be placed on the naughty list
