Just a couple of things to do when it arrives.
1. Wipe up the drool..
2. Charge your battery all the way up. The manual says they are shipped fully charged, but everyone I know so far had to do 7 to 10 hours of charging.
3. Marcum website for the manual – Marcum manuals
4. When you turn it on and go through the system settings and check what version software your on. YOU WANT TO BE ON v1.29. The unit ships with a micro SD card in the slaot. You will need to discconcect it from the gimbal and remove the rubber plug on the bottom. It’s tiny and my fat fingers are hard to get in there. Tweezers works great. But you need to get a Micro SD adapter if your PC/laptop doesn’t have a slot for it. The instructions on the Marcum site for the upgrade is easy to follow and do!!!. The earlier version had some screen lock up issues. Since I loaded the v1.29 it has performed FLAWLESSLY!!!
I also had to slightly crimp the battery connectors a little tighter. Had a couple times where they slipped off the battery. Needle nose and a very slight squeeze and problem solved
If you disconncect the camera head and bag, it will tip forward when you pick it up by the handle. Just be prepared. Other than a couple piddly things, I am so happy to have made the change to digital Marcum. Hell of a great tool! Welcome the clear side!
Thanks for the tips Randy. I just got my lx9 updated. The 1.29 version has been replaced by 1.31 now. This thing is pretty sweet so far, I may have to take a trip to try it out now.
